Flybe Purchased Embraer Worth $1.3 Billion

Flybe, Britain's biggest domestic airline, purchased 35 88- seat Embraer 175 aircraft worth $1.3 billion, while Steven Udvar-Hazy's Air Lease Corp. said at the Farnborough Air Show that it would buy 15 larger 190 planes valued at $600 million

At the 47th Farnborough International Airshow on July 20, ALC also signed a letter of intent with Embraer for 15 Embraer 190s. Five of the 15 orders are re-confirmable, and the deal also includes five options to give the manufacturer a potential sale of 20 Embraer 190s.

Embraer said Monday it agreed to sell two E-190 planes to Trip Linhas Aereas for a total of $80 million. The planes seat from 70 to 122 passengers, according to Tuesday's statement.

Watson started his basketball career with stints in Development League and with some European teams. A 26-years-old C.J. Watson is a scoring guard whose primary role in the Chicago Bulls will be to back-up Derrick Rose, an All-star point guard. C.J.

Charles Akeem Watson, Jr. (born April 17, 1984, in Las Vegas, Nevada) is an American professional basketball player who most recently played with the NBA's Golden State Warriors. He is 6' 2" (1.88 m) tall and plays point guard position.

The Bulls landed C.J. Watson in a sign-and-trade with the Warriors, where the 26-year-old combo guard has played for three seasons. Watson will make a reported $6.5 million over the next two seasons to fill in at both guard spots off the bench. It's a rather fair deal for the Bulls, given the dearth of minutes-worthy point guards available this summer. The Warriors receive a 2011 second-round pick from Chicago.

Three Gorges Dam People And Forced The Relocation Of 1.3 Million

"Compared to 1998, the biggest difference is the Three Gorges Dam. Without it, thousands of soldiers and rescuers would have been needed to fight the floods," said Yuan Jie, director of the Three Gorges Cascade Dispatching Center of China Three Gorges Cooperation.

The Three Gorges Dam traditional is a hydroelectric dam that spans the Yangtze River by the town of Sandouping, located in the Yiling District of Yichang, in Hubei province, China. It is the world's largest electricity-generating plant of any kind.

Wang Jingquan, a drought and flood prevention official at the water-resources committee, said the Three Gorges Dam was designed to withstand up to 110,000 cubic meters of water a second. He added that reservoir levels are below the maximum capacity of 175 meters high and that the dam's electricity turbines haven't been operating at full capacity because the area had been suffering from drought.

Rainfall since July 1 has affected about 38 million people and forced the relocation of 1.3 million in 11 provinces, the Ministry of Civil Affairs said July 16. Rice output in China, which accounts for 35 percent of global production, may drop by 10 percent on torrential rains and outbreak of pests.

Titi Monkey Are Endangered By Smuggler

Not only is he in trouble for traveling from Peru to Mexico City without permission to carry live species, but the 18 monkeys were in dire need of some health care. According to CNN, at least two of the endangered species died during the trip.

The titis, or titi monkeys, are the New World monkeys of the genus Callicebus. They are the only extant members of the Callicebinae subfamily, which also contains the extinct genera Xenothrix, Antillothrix, Paralouatta, Carlocebus, Homunculus, Lagonimico and possibly also Tremacebus.

Physical description Dusky titi monkeys have a grey to red/brown coat, with a long tail. The under-parts, inner limbs and sideburns are orange and their face-markings are sometimes a strikingly different colour.

Sarah Palin Refudiate Proudly Proclaimed

Perhaps she meant "refute?" Or maybe she was going for "repudiate?" It reminds me of that scene in Tina Fey's high school comedy Mean Girls. Lindsay Lohan's character, eager to be popular and flustered in the presence of her crush, responds: "Grool." Then, embarrassed, explains: "I meant to say cool, and then I started to say great."

Palin later amended her tweet to say, "peaceful New Yorkers, pls refute the Ground Zero mosque plan if you believe catastrophic pain caused @ Twin Towers site is too raw, too real."

There are a few ways to look at Sarah Palin's use of "refudiate." It's clear that refute and repudiate are lurking in the background somewhere. One view is that it's a non-word and sets a bad example for students of the English language.

Her next update returned to "refudiate" and now proudly proclaimed Palin as heir both to literary genius William Shakespeare and Republican ex-president George W. Bush, famous for his repeated howlers, such as "misunderestimate."

At a Landmarks Commission meeting, Lazio asked that the site be landmarked to stymie the mosques construction. Lazio has also demanded an investigation into the mosques financing.

Guam Tragedy of Infested Spider Ship

The MV Altavia was carrying beams and insulation for a housing development in the U.S. territory and had just come from South Korea. Customs cleared the ship for cargo removal shortly after it arrived in Guam. But once dock workers began removing the shipment, the spiders, large and small, made their appearance. Officials immediately ordered the ship to return to sea.

Guam is an island in the western Pacific Ocean and is an organized, unincorporated territory of the United States. It is one of five U.S. territories with an established civilian government. The island's capital is Hagåtña (formerly Agana). Guam is the largest and southernmost of the Mariana Islands.

Agriculture officials say they don't know what type of spiders were on the ship, but said it's a type that isn't normally found on the island. They said there was concern the spiders could damage Guam's environment.

Shirley Sherrod Actions Were Shameful

Her actions were shameful. While she went on to explain in the story that she ultimately realized her mistake, as well as the common predicament of working people of all races, she gave no indication she had attempted to right the wrong she had done to this man.

Now the woman, Shirley Sherrod, was the Georgia state director at the Department of Agricultural. Now the president's Agricultural Secretary Tom Vilsack just released a statement saying the USDA has a zero tolerance policy against discrimination.

I was struggling with the fact that so many black people had lost their farm land, and here I was faced with having to help a white person save their land. The first time I was faced with having to help a white farmer save his farm. He took a long time talking but he was trying to show me he was superior to me. I know what he was doing. But he had to come to me for help. What he didn't know, while he was talking all that time trying to show me he was superior to me, was I was trying to decide just how much help I was going to give him.

They also farmed 1,500 acres of row crops, including corn, peanuts and soybeans. Nevertheless, New Communities built up farming operations to help retain the land. They had highway frontage where they had a farmers market to sell their crops. They raised hogs and sold the processed meat in a smokehouse they built on the highway. Their sugar cane mill on the highway also attracted customers. New Communities was ahead of the times in raising eight acres of Muscatine grapes, which are now widely grown in the area.

In a written statement that was released by Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack, it was confirmed that the department's director of rural development agency has resigned while adding that there is zero tolerance level for discrimination of any kind in the department.

The announcement by the company comes just days after it settled a lawsuit with the Securities and Exchange Commission, which had accused the bank of misrepresenting a deal it made during the financial crisis. The bank did not admit to criminal wrongdoing, but it did agree to pay $550 million, all of which was taken out of earnings for the second quarter.

The firm also engages in proprietary trading and private equity deals, and is a primary dealer in the United States Treasury security market.

Goldman Sachs, IBM and Texas Instruments Inc. sank at least 2 percent as they joined Bank of America Corp. and General Electric Co. in posting revenue that missed analysts' estimates as the slowing economic rebound makes it difficult to stimulate demand. While second-quarter net income at S&P 500 companies has topped estimates by 11 percent, revenue has been 3.3 percent more than forecast, according to data compiled by Bloomberg.

Response to economic news released at 8:30 AM EDT was minimal. Consensus for June Housing Starts was 570,000 versus 593,000 in May. Actual was 549,000. Consensus for June Building Permits was unchanged at 574,000. Actual was a gain of 2.1%.

Karen Handel Politician In The State of Georgia

According to a Mason-Dixon survey released Sunday, 29 percent of likely Georgia GOP primary voters support Handel, with 22 percent backing state Insurance Commissioner John Oxendine, 20 percent supporting former U.S. Rep. Nathan Deal, 13 percent supporting former state Sen. Eric Johnson, and 13 percent undecided. Handel's advantage of 6 percentage points is within the poll's sampling error.

Karen Handel is an American politician in the state of Georgia. She is a Republican who served as Secretary of State of Georgia from Jan. 2007 until her resignation in Jan. 2010. She is running for Governor of Georgia in the 2010 election. She announced in December 2009 that she would resign as Secretary of State in order to focus on the gubernatorial race full-time.

The first Republican candidate to appear, former Secretary of State Karen Handel, emphasized a modern approach to governing, including moving away from a "19th-century schoolhouse mentality" in education and lowering the dropout rate.

"I know Karen Handel. She has the experience, courage and tenacity that make her the best candidate to be Governor. Karen will fight to pass similar illegal immigration laws in Georgia. If President Obama tries to stop her, she will tell him to 'Bring it On."

Nathan Deal, she says, resigned his seat in Congress "to avoid an ethics investigation after he used his power to protect a lucrative state program that was making him hundreds of thousands of dollars."

Bedbugs (or bed bugs) are small, elusive, parasitic insects of the family Cimicidae. In common use, the term usually refers to one species, Cimex lectularius, that feeds preferentially on human blood; all insects in this family live by feeding exclusively on the blood of warm-blooded animals. The name 'bed bug' is derived from the insect's preferred habitat of infesting houses and especially beds or other common areas where people may sleep. Bedbugs, though not strictly nocturnal, are mainly active at night and are capable of feeding unnoticed on their hosts.

Most bed bugs feed on their hosts while they are asleep. The host supplies them with blood in a painless way, never knowing it is happening. While feeding they inject a small amount of saliva into the host's skin. The more they feed on one particular host, say a human, over a period of several weeks, the more sensitized that human becomes to their saliva. Until eventually the host develops a mild to intense allergic response.

This is a huge problem if you are fogging in an apartment complex or a hotel, two of the locations where you're most likely to find an infestation. The fear is that you will just cause them to spread to adjacent rooms and actually worsen the infestation. Once the fog wears off, they'll just crawl right back in and now you've got separate infestations in all the nearby rooms as well.

The Donner Party (sometimes called the Donner-Reed Party) was a group of American pioneers who set out for California in a wagon train. Delayed by a series of mishaps, they spent the winter of 1846–47 snowbound in the Sierra Nevada. Some of the emigrants resorted to cannibalism to survive, eating those who had succumbed to starvation and sickness.

Reed soon found others seeking adventure and fortune in the vast including the Donner family, Graves, Breens, Murphys, Eddys, McCutcheons, Kesebergs, and the Wolfingers, as well as seven teamsters and a number of bachelors. The initial group included 32 men, women and children.
