Posted: 20 Sep 2011 07:31 PM PDT

Mother Monster, who nabbed six EMA nominations, is followed by Katy Perry and Bruno Mars with four noms; Adele, Justin Bieber and Thirty Seconds to Mars are each up for three.

Gaga is up for Best Female, Best Live Act, Best Pop Act, Best Song and Best Video for "Born This Way." She scored the sixth nom in the Biggest Fans category, an honor she'll share with her Little Monsters if she wins.

American and Canadian audiences can vote for the North American nominee for the Worldwide Act award, who will represent the continent at the EMAs against contenders from across the globe.

So, who will go head-to-head with the superstar? Adele's unstoppable "Rolling in the Deep," Bruno Mars' "Grenade," Jennifer Lopez's "On the Floor" (featuring Pitbull) and Katy Perry's "Firework" will go up against Gaga for Best Song.

For Best Pop, Britney Spears, Bieber, Perry, Rihanna and Gaga are set to face off, while Adele, Beyoncé, J.Lo, Katy and Gaga also made the final cut for Best Female.

Battling it out in the Best Male category are Bruno Mars, David Guetta, Bieber, Kanye West and Eminem, who's also up for Best Hip Hop alongside Lil Wayne, Jay-Z and Kanye West (a.k.a. the Throne), Pitbull and Snoop Dogg.

Winslet and Downton enjoy Emmy wins

Posted: 20 Sep 2011 07:29 PM PDT

Kate Winslet and Downton Abbey were among the big winners at the Emmy Awards, making it a successful night for British TV talent.

Winslet was honoured for her lead actress role in Mildred Pierce, while ITV1's hit period drama picked up four gongs, including best mini-series and a best supporting actress award for Dame Maggie Smith.

Dressed in a glamorous red gown, an emotional Winslet dedicated the award to her mother, and said: "I didn't think we were going to win anything." Winslet, who already has an Oscar and a Grammy, beat stars including Downton Abbey's Elizabeth McGovern and Upstairs Downstairs veteran Jean Marsh to her trophy.

The 63rd Primetime Emmys ceremony saw Mad Men win its fourth consecutive best drama series award, while Modern Family claimed its second best comedy trophy.

Downton Abbey, which launched its second series in the UK on Sunday night, was also honoured for its writing and directing, with gongs for Julian Fellowes and Brian Percival.

There was disappointment however for Hugh Laurie, who lost out to Kyle Chandler of Friday Night Lights in the lead actor in a drama series category. Scottish stars Kelly MacDonald, of Boardwalk Empire, and Alan Cumming, of The Good Wife, also went away empty-handed.

The Beautiful Cher Lloyd buys her first house

Posted: 20 Sep 2011 07:11 PM PDT

AND there was me thinking Cher Lloyd would splash out on her own bodyweight in Haribo when Swagger Jagger topped the charts.

But no, the X Factor singer has wisely gone for bricks and mortar instead and bought her first apartment.

My source tells me: "Cher's been really clever with her money and bought a place in East London with her boyfriend, Craig Monk."

No doubt the star, who looks about nine years old, will be able to add to her property portfolio when her new single, With Ur Love featuring Mike Posner, hits the charts.

AMY Childs has already tucked into a large, er, slice of her Big Brother earnings.

The former TOWIE star, who reckons she is hopeless in the kitchen, splashes out £1,200 a MONTH on pizza.

Amy, 21, says: "I can't cook to save my life, d'you know what I mean? I love pizzas, my favourite is pepperoni.

"I spend £1,200 every month on pizzas. When I eat out it's Pizza Express. I love that s***.

"My bruvver and me have it almost every night and my folks love it, too."

Leonardo DiCaprioc 40 years old to play 'homosexual' FBI director J. Edgar Hoover Exclusive Pics

The floppy fringe of yesteryear is nowhere to be seen as Leonardo DiCaprio takes on one of his most demanding roles to date.

The Academy Award-nominee, 36, steps into the shoes of iconic FBI director J Edgar Hoover.
The story follows his life as he moulds the Federal Bureau of Investigation into an efficient crime-fighting agency, introducing modern technologies including fingerprinting and forensic laboratories.

Apart from the physical transformation, which with the help of make-up sees the actor age from his thirties into his seventies, another hurdle DiCaprio has to overcome is alluding to being gay.

Robert Pattinson Recording A Solo Album ?

Posted: 20 Sep 2011 07:02 PM PDT

His legions of hopeful fans will be sad to hear it, but despite reports and rumors to the contrary, Robert Pattinson is not recording an album.

On Tuesday (September 20), Us Weekly reported that the "Twilight" superstar was itching to record his own songs, but according to the magazine's two sources, he felt torn between his acting commitments and his love of music. The story further alleged that the 25-year-old would be putting together a guitar-based record in the next few weeks, before the promotional tour for "The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 1" kicks into gear.

MTV News reached out to Pattinson's rep, who told us, "The report is untrue. He is not working on an album right now."

Of course, that is not to say Pattinson might not record music someday — he has previously recorded "Never Think" and "Let Me Sign" for the original "Twilight" soundtrack — but it's not happening now.

London Fashion Week VIPs put down MiniCams got the show

It is not often that Anna Wintour gets upstaged by a young upstart who is wearing not a single designer label and whose Manolo collection stands at a woeful zero. But at Samantha Cameron's Downing Street reception for the fashion industry, the American Vogue editor's entrance on the arm of a hulking bodyguard was comprehensively overshadowed by that of Florence Cameron, who made a cameo appearance on the hip of her babysitter, who also happens to be the prime minister.

Wintour, famously, never stays at a party longer than 20 minutes. Florence, along with her older brother and sister, made her excuses after 15. Game, set and match to the MiniCams.

The question on everyone's lips was, of course, what is she wearing? In the case of Samantha Cameron, the answer was self-evident: anyone unable to recognise at 20 paces a key look from Jonathan Saunders autumn 2011 collection would have been immediately ejected from last night's party as an imposter. From Florence, however, a straight answer was not so easy to extract, since even the most well-brought-up 13-month-olds have disappointingly little in the way of cocktail party chit -chat.

The smart money had Florence in White Company, Arthur in Gap Kids and Nancy in Boden, though at press time the Minister for Pyjamas was not returning calls.

The John Martin Pompeii Beautiful painting finally restored after 1928 Tate flood damage

Posted: 20 Sep 2011 06:56 PM PDT

A painting considered beyond repair after being submerged in filthy floodwater when the Thames breached its banks in 1928 will be seen in something approaching its wild and lurid former glory on Tuesday when it goes on public display for the first time in a century.

After 18 months of difficult restoration, John Martin's Destruction of Pompeii and Herculaneum forms part of the biggest ever exhibition devoted to the apocalyptic 19th century painter.

The show's curator, Martin Myrone, said the work had been somewhat overlooked and dismissed by writers and its restoration meant "we can now see it as a really central picture in Martin's output and an extraordinarily vivid and exciting work".

After getting soaked in the Tate's worst ever flood, the work had been considered a writeoff. Not only was it flaking and dirty, it was in two parts, with a large part of the canvas, showing the volcano, missing completely.

But there was some good news when tissue was pulled away from the painting in 2010, recalled Tate's head of conservation, Patricia Smithen. "Amazingly, the surface was really intact and the figures in the foreground particularly were in really great condition. Shockingly so. It was at that point we started asking if we could undertake a restoration."

Katrina Kaif fell off her cycle Exclusive pics

Katrina Kaif has had no time to enjoy the ongoing success of her latest film Mere Brother Ki Dulhan, which has won her rave reviews from critics. Rather, the actress has been busy filming for Ek Tha Tiger in Dublin with Salman Khan.

The stills from the campus of the Trinity College Dublin show Katrina taking a stroll with Salman Khan with a bicycle by her side. It was while shooting one such scene that Katrina slipped and fell down, taking the bike along with her (see the image on the next page).

It's hard to say if it was an accident or the fall was a part of the shoot. But there was indeed a moment of panic among the onlookers as Katrina slipped and fell down.

Poonam Pandey assets Hottest Pics on Internet

Doggedly determined to not be written off the public's memory, Poonam Pandey has been busy showing off her curves to her fans.

In the times when a raft of sensational scoops involving the big and busy stars of film industry would make those with lesser talent and work seem irrelevant, there's a scramble among the dreamy-eyed wannabes to just climb a rung higher up the ladder to fame. Poonam Pandey has been doing that not by dint of hard work, but by...ahem...showing off her assets.

The media hog, known for her inventive ways of staying in the news, has been posting titillating teasers on her Twitter page. The photos have Poonam posing in low-neck dresses and have been clicked from the angle that provides a deep peek into her softness.

Poonam herself has boasted about raising the bar as far as skin-show is concerned in India.

"Attempt to change the Indian Hotness scenario! which INDIA has never Experienced before. & the TREND is About to set!!" she wrote on Twitter.

Taylor Lautner’s Abduction Preview with latest trailer

Posted: 20 Sep 2011 06:28 AM PDT

As Twilight's werewolf Taylor Lautner's much awaited film Abduction hits the silver screen this Friday, we thought of bringing to you the trailer and the preview of the movie.

Ok, first things first. Abduction looks to be a promising action packed thriller and we are pleased to see Taylor performing his action stunts in a human form, rather than what we usually see - a furry werewolf!

The trailer begins with Nathan Price (Taylor) describing how normally he leads his life; until, he finds his photo on a missing persons website! Now, the million dollar question: if his photo is posted on that website, then who are those people he is living with?

One more thing; the trailer leaves you confused as to who is supporting Nathan and who is against him! First you see Alfred Molina's character by Nathan's side, and the very next moment you see Nathan challenging to hunt him down! Looks interesting!
