Women’s Reservation Bill live from Parliament today

Posted: 08 Mar 2010 08:46 PM PST

Today Government will present Women’s reservation bill and will try to successfully implementation of the bill. By this Women’s reservation bill, Government is trying to give reservation of 33% seats in all legislatures for women.

Sonia Gandhi already expressed her desire by saying that it is Rajiv Gandhi’s vision to have women’s reservation ans she is keen to get the bill passed.

Yesterday Janata Dal-United (JD-U) leader Sharad Yadav, one of the bitterest critics of the bill, was not present in the house.
Parliamentary Affairs Minister Pawan Kumar Bansal and his deputy V. Narayanasamy also tried to pacify Mulayam Singh and Lalu Prasad but failed.

Seeing the condition and inability to bring peace, the speaker adjourned the the house yesterday.

SP and RJD leaders yesterday announced that the government could go ahead with the measure only at the risk of losing the support of their MPs (21 SP, 4 RJD) in Lok Sabha. The threat worked, triggering an attack of nerves among government managers over the political fallout, including the government’s stability and encouraging closet opponents of the bill in the Congress to come out in the open as reported by TOI.

Today Women’s reservation bill will be live again and lets see whats happens, whether it will be passed easily or lots of hindrance are waiting for it. You can see it live by clicking here.
