Shivalik Development Board to start Buses

Chandigarh, March 11: Shivalik Development Board would start five mini buses for the remote villages of Morni area.

This was announced by Haryana Chief Minister Mr Bhupinder Singh Hooda while intervening on a question by Kalka MLA Mr Pradeep Chaudhary in the question hour of the Haryana budget session on Thursday. Kalka MLA had asked the question ‘Whether there was any proposal to start Haryana Roadways Buses from Nalaghat to Samlotha, Morni to Barisher and Morni to Tikkartal’.
While replying to another question by Dadri MLA Mr Satpal Sangwan regarding the downgrading of Charkhi Dadri depot in year 2001, the Transport minister Mr Om Parkash Jain said that the depot was downgraded to Sub Depot in year 2001. But the Government is considering the proposal to upgrade this sub depot to full fledged depot. He said that there was a need for depot.
There have been 4 deaths of policemen in 4 accidents in January 2010. There were 46 accidents & 39 deaths in 2009, 26 accidents & 25 deaths in 2008, 40 accidents & 35 deaths in 2007, 58 accidents & 51 deaths in 2006 and 32 accidents & 30 deaths of policemen in year 2005. This information was provided by state Parliamentary Affairs Minister Mr Randeep Singh Surjewala while replying on a question by BJP MLA Mr Krishan Pal Gurjar on the number of accidents that occurred in police department in that period. He informed the house that all police officers/policemen are covered under Janta Personal Insurance policy apart from other six benefits available to employees of Haryana Government. On the suggestion to increase the present risk cover of Rs 1 Lakh to 5 Lakh, the minister assured that the suggestion would be given serious consideration.

The Government has sanctioned Rs 81.91 crore for the hailstorm affected farmers of Hisar & Bhiwani, which will be distributed in three to five months time. This was disclosed by Haryana Parliamentary Affairs Minister Mr Randeep Singh Surjewala while replying to a question by Barhra MLA Col Raghbir Singh. The Agriculture minister Mr Paramvir Singh said that the compensation for the 76 percent to 100 percent affected wheat has been increased from Rs 3,000 to Rs 5,000, for non wheat crops it will be Rs 2500 to Rs 4,000 for the same loss. The relief has been increased for wheat loss of 51 to 75 per cent to Rs 4,000 from Rs 2250 and Rs 3,000 from Rs 1875 for non-wheat crops. For 26 percent to 50 percent wheat crops losses, it has been raised from 1500 per acre to Rs 3,000 per acre, while it will be 2050 from Rs 1250 per acre of non-wheat crops.

On a question from Karnal MLA Ms Sumita Singh regarding the non-utilization of two ventilators in Government Hospital, Karnal, the Health minister Ms Geeta Bhukkal said that the ventilators were purchased 7-8 years back and could not used due to non availability of trained anesthetic (doctors). On supplementary question by the Ms Sumita Singh regarding why the ventilators were purchased when the specialist anesthetic (doctors) were not available, the minister assured that enquiry would be conducted and due action would be taken in the matter.

On a question from Jind MLA Dr Hari Chand Middha regarding the water problem in Jhanjh Kalan & Baroudi villages of District Jind, the Public Health Engineering Minister, Mr Randeep Singh Surjewala accepted that there was a problem in some areas of both villages. An augmentation water supply scheme is in progress at a cost of Rs 100.63 Lakh for both the villages, which is likely to be commissioned by 31st March, 2010, he replied.

MLAs Mr Sher Singh Barshami, Mr Krishan Lal Panwar, Mr Aftab Ahmed, Mr Kali Ram, Mr Rameshwar Dayal also raised questions about their respective assembly segments in the question hour.
