The Haryana Government scheme to provide free and uninterrupted supply of medicines to all OPD patients

Chandigarh, March 18—The Haryana Government scheme to provide free and uninterrupted supply of medicines to all OPD patients, who come calling at government health institutions in the state, has turned out to be a big draw. Statistics show that since its launch on January 1, 2009, the number of patients visiting OPDs has gone up by more than 55 per cent all over the state. Encouraged by the response, the state government has decided to hike budgetary allocation for the purpose.
Disclosing this here today, Mrs Geeta Bhukkal, Health Minister, said that as many as 1.76 crore patients visited OPDs in the calendar year 2009 against 1.13 crore in 2008, representing an increase of 55.2 per cent.
This has made state government hike the budget outlay for free supply of medicines to Rs 29.22 crore, including Rs 15 crore under NRHM, in 2010-11 from Rs 26.25 crore, including Rs 14.28 crore under NRHM, in 2009-10 (See chart). The scheme had helped reduce the prescription of propaganda medicine to zero, she added. Besides OPD patients, medicines are supplied free of cost to the casualty and delivery cases, including the caesarian, Mrs Bhukkal said.

Detailing the modus operandi of the scheme, she said that drug procurement committees had been constituted at the district level to decide on the medicines to be procured in a particular district. The list of essential drugs includes 328 at the general hospital level, 112 at CHC level, and 98 at PHC and dispensary level.
Supplies of 102 medicines are procured from the central public sector undertakings. The rest are procured on Haryana Rate Contract. Drugs can also be procured on DGS&D or ESI rate contract if not available on CPSU or Haryana rate contract. Tenders are floated for the purpose and the rate contracts are executed for two years after which tenders can be re-floated.
The drug monitoring software was in operation at the central store in every district. The Integrated Procurement Division at the headquarters in Chandigarh ensured unhindered supply of medicines round the year. Reports on the per capita drug consumption in all districts were compiled in Chandigarh on a weekly and monthly basis, the minister added.

Indian boxing federation has congratulated the indian boxers for winning six gold medals in the commonwealth boxing championship

Chandigarh 18 March: Indian boxing federation has congratulated the indian boxers for winning six gold medals in the commonwealth boxing championship. The president of the indian boxing federation & MLA from Ellnabad, Mr. Abhey Singh Chautala said that it is a matter of great pride for every Indian citizen as hardwork done by the federation has borne fruit.
Mr. Chautala said that indian boxers got maximum 36 points in the championship for which the credit goes to the players as well their coach and technical staff. He said that out of six medal winning boxers, four belongs to Haryana state. He further said that commonwealth boxing championship held in 2005, India had won four gold medals but this time all six boxers who entered the final succeeded in winning gold medals.  On Wedensday last Vijender, Dinesh, Jai bhawan, Paramjeet Sahota, Suranjay Singh and Amandeep won gold medals.
Mr. Abhey Singh Chautala said that Vijender of Haryana has achieved first position in the World boxing after winning bronze medal in the olympics and world championship. The president of  Indian boxing federation has expressed the hope that indian boxers will stage better performance in the 19th commonwealth games being held this year. While praising indian players especially boxers for winning laurals, he expressed the hope that these players will raise the indian honour in the future international championship.
INLD Chief and former CM Ch. OP Chautala and Indian Table Tennis federation president and MLA Dabwali Ch. Ajay Singh Chautala has also extended greetings to the gold medal winning boxers.

Peoples are searching on Internet that tamil actor and comedian Goundamani had died today. On Monday he was admitted in the private hospital of Chennai when he had a chest pain. Goundamani was undergoing treatment and doctor said that he was in a very  serious condition.

Goundamani was believed to be death but it is not confirmed. It can be a rumour also. But peoples in large number is searching on the net that Goundamani dead, dead of Goundamani, rumour of Goundamani dead and many more.

Hatrick in defeat of Rajasthan Royals

Royal Challengers Bangalore has won the match. Royal Challengers Bangalore defeated Rajasthan Royals by 10 wickets. The target given by the Rajasthan Royals was of 92 runs which the Royal Challengers Bangalore made in 10.4 overs.

M Pandey made 42 runs and J Kallis made 44 runs. Royal Challengers Bangalore won the match with 56 balls remaining. This was the third defeat of Rajasthan Royals in the three matches.

Hooda today directed the officers of district administration to redress the grievances of the public soon

Chandigarh, March 18: Haryana Chief Minister Mr. Bhupinder Singh Hooda today directed the officers of district administration to redress the grievances of the public soon. Some of the grievances were redressed on the spot.
Mr. Hooda was redressing the grievances of the people at Canal Rest House, Rohtak today. On canal water, he directed the officers of Irrigation department to ensure adequate supply of canal water to the farmers. He urged the farmers to save water by adopting the latest techniques of irrigation.
Mr. Hooda said that the State Government was providing loans on discounted rates to the educated unemployed youth of the State to set up their own business through District Industrial Centers so that they could earn their livelihood. Mr. Hooda said that women would play a key role in formulating Policies, Rules and regulations in the days to come. He urged women to move forward on the basis of their ability and strength.
The Chief Minister said that there would be no shortage of electricity in the State. Some of the new power plants had already started generating electricity and with the commencement of remaining power plants the State would not only become self-reliant in terms of electricity but also supply  power to other states.
On this occasion MLA Meham  Anand Singh Dangi, MLA Baroda Krishan Hooda, Political Advisor to Chief Minister Professor Virender Singh and other senior officers of the district administration were also present.

Haryana Government will spend a sum of about Rs. 1312 crore for strengthening

Chandigarh, March 18 – Haryana Government will spend a sum of about Rs. 1312 crore for strengthening and improving the infrastructure facilities in the state during the financial year  2010-11.
This was stated by Member of Parliament, Rohtak, Mr.Deepender Singh Hooda while interacting with media persons after inaugurating two Railways over Bridges (RoBs) and laying the foundation stone of low cost housing Ashiana Scheme for poor people at Rohtak today.
In reply to a question about making the Rohtak Municipal Committee as Municipal Corporation, Mr. Hooda said that this would prove to be beneficial for the people. The pace of development would be accelerated as the scope of urban area would be greatly expanded and town's planned budget would be increased considerably. With the formation of corporation, the town would get benefit from major centrally sponsored schemes such as Jawahar Lal Urban Renewable Mission and Mayor and Councilors would get additional funds for the development of Rohtak.
The problem of traffic congestion had been sorted out with the construction of these RoBs said Mr Hooda adding that now work on five RoBs had been completed. The RoB constructed in Sector 6 would be helpful for vehicles coming from Panipat side as they have no need to pass through the town. Now these vehicles would go directly to Delhi, Sonipat and Rewari. This RoB had been constructed at a cost of Rs.30.25 crore while the RoB constructed over railway gate had been costed Rs.28.84 crore.
Mr. Hooda also laid the foundation stone of low cost housing scheme for poor people in sector 4, Rohtak. Under this scheme, 600 residential housing units would be constructed with a cost of Rs.23 crore on an area of 5.713 acres.
On this occasion, Mr. B B Batra and Mrs. Shakuntla Khatak, both MLAs, district congress chief, Mr. Pritam Singh Balhara, Additional Political Secretary to Chief Minister, Mr. Rohtash Hooda and Mr. J.K. Malhotra and a number of people were also present.

Jagannath Pahadia and his wife Smt. Shanti Pahadia visited Sri Mata Mansa Devi Shrine Temple

Chandigarh, March 18: The Haryana Governor Shri Jagannath Pahadia and his wife Smt. Shanti Pahadia visited Sri Mata Mansa Devi Shrine Temple near Panchkula today and paid their obeisance in the temple for seeking blessings of Sri Mata Mansa Devi.
The Governor and Smt. Pahadia also performed Havan in the Temple and wished all happiness and prosperity for one and all.  They also went around the Shrine Complex and appreciated the development works got accomplished by Sri Mata Mansa Devi Shrine Board and the State Government.  The Governor also appreciated the elaborate arrangements made by Sri Mata Mansa Devi Shrine Board, District Administration and the State Government for preserving security as well as better health care  for the visitors during the 9 days Navratra Mela from different parts of the country.
Talking to the news persons the Governor said that our fairs and festivals are the symbol of our social and cultural unity where the principle of "unity in diversity" is projected through our various social and religious worships and activities.  He said that Sri Mata Mansa Devi may shower her all blessings for happiness and prosperity on the people of the country.
The Deputy Commissioner of Panchkula Mr. Pankaj Yadav, SP Mr. Munish Chowdhary, Additional Deputy Commissioner Mr. Ashok Sangwan and other District as well Shrine Board officers were also present on this occasion.
