China—Chinese break their tradition of leaving dead bodies for vultures and cremated earthquake victims on Saturday.

A mass cremation took place for those who died in the earthquake in Yushu County on Wednesday. Cremation ceremony was carried by Buddhist monks on Saturday near quake's epicenter.

A low intensity explosion at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium 45 minutes before an Indian Premier League (IPL) tie between Royal Challengers Bangalore and Mumbai Indians injured four policemen and a private security guard and caused panic among the spectators.

Three policemen were injured when a power generator exploded at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium here Saturday, nearly 90 minutes before an Indian Premier League (IPL) match between Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) and Mumbai Indians.

There was panic near the second entrance gate as hundreds had gathered when the explosion took place.

Four crew members of a Spanish navy helicopter were killed when their aircraft crashed in a mountainous area of Haiti near the border with the Dominican Republic, authorities said.

Spain’s defense ministry said in a statement that the helicopter belonged to the navy vessel Castilla, which has been in Haiti since February on a humanitarian mission to aid victims of the Jan 12 earthquake that left more than 200,000 dead and around a million people homeless in the impoverished Caribbean nation.

Delhiites continued to reel under the scorching heat with the maximum temperature likely to hover around 44 degrees Celsius Saturday, weather officials said.

The minimum temperature recorded Saturday morning was 26.5 degrees Celsius, a good six notches above the normal. The weatherman has forecast a further rise in temperature during the weekend.

An Indian priest who confessed to sexual abusing a 10-year-old girl in the central Italian province of Abruzzo could face up to 12 years in jail.

Toyota recalls 600,000 Sienna minivans

Toyota has announced a voluntary recall of some 600,000 Sienna minivans in the US and 270,000 in Canada because of safety concerns about potential corrosion in its spare tyre carrier.

The recall applies to certain models of the van from 1998 to 2010 that were driven in cold climates where road salt may have cause corrosion, Toyota said Friday. The tyre could fall off the vehicle if the problem deteriorates.
