Natalie Gulbis Thinks About Her Ex-Boyfriend

Posted: 27 May 2010 11:26 AM PDT

"He's a great guy," said Natalie Gulbis. "I've known him for four years. He has always been fantastic to me, and we've been friends since before he even started playing for the Steelers. I'll continue to cheer for him and the Steelers."

Natalie Gulbis is a 27-year-old LPGA tour player. She was at Oakmont Country Club today preparing for the U.S. Women's Open.

Natalie Anne Gulbis (born January 7, 1983) is an American professional golfer who plays on the U.S.-based LPGA Tour.

LPGA golfer Natalie Gulbis went on record stating that Ben Roethlisberger is not the bad guy that many have portrayed him as. The LPGA starlet came to the defense of Big Ben, at last giving the Steelers quarterback a positive voice while he tries to get back on the gridiron.

Gulbis says few good words possibly to encourage her ex-boyfriend for his current suspension after being accused of sexual assault. Roethlisberger was not charged in the case. Gulbis said,

"He's a great guy. I've known him for four years. He has always been fantastic to me, and we've been friends since before he even started playing for the Steelers. I'll continue to cheer for him and the Steelers."

Silly Bandz During Class And Arrange Swaps

Posted: 27 May 2010 11:15 AM PDT

"It's a distraction," says Jill Wolborsky, a fourth-grade teacher at my son's school, who banned them from her classroom before the principal implemented a schoolwide ban. One student stole some confiscated Bandz from her desk, choosing them over the cash in her drawer. (See pictures of teens in America.)

Students fiddle with them during class and arrange swaps - trading, say, a bracelet with a mermaid for one with a dragon - when they should be concentrating on schoolwork, teachers say. Sometimes a trade goes bad - kids get buyer's remorse too - and hard feelings, maybe even scuffles, ensue.

Every so often, though, I get tripped up by something Max is not able to do. Last night my friend Stephanie, who writes the blog Formerly Hot (for the record, she is still hot), posted this photo on Facebook of a project her girls had made.

The dad — my husband's cousin, who is about our age — showed me how the bracelets, when they're not on someone's wrist, pop into animal shapes and such. He said they were cheap and have given the girls hours of entertainment, but have gotten a little annoying.

"They're really getting popular," he said, shaking his head.

Guess so. I ran across this story today from Time Magazine about how schools in several states have banned kids from bringing Silly Bandz to class, because they're a distraction.

The Bandz are now contraband. Schools in several states, including New York, Texas, Florida and Massachusetts, have blacklisted Silly Bandz, those stretchy, colorful bracelets that are creeping up the forearms of school kids across the U.S. And starting this week, all 800-some kids at my son's elementary school in Raleigh, N.C., were commanded to leave at home their collections of rubber band–like bracelets, which retail for about $5 per pack of 24. What could possibly be so insidious about a cheap silicone bracelet?

David Cook Not On American Idol FInale 2010

Posted: 27 May 2010 10:58 AM PDT

David Cook's absence was widely noticed but it was nothing dramatic to which the fans around the world flocked the internet to search the reason. So what was it, why did he miss. The reason explained below:

David Cook, the winner of the Idol Season 7, was attending a charity event in Kansas City related to cancer disease. The Idol champ is well known for his work for the charities, specially to cancer related as the disease took his brother's life. He devotes most of his time looking to help many charities around and is well known amongst all. Charity Work has also won him great fan votes.

Some of the Cook's fans were disappointed last night as they were expecting to see him, but as Cook tweeted, he was in the show "in spirit".

Cook couldn't join all his fellow "Idol" winners on stage for a Simon Cowell send off number because he had a charity event in Kansas City, his rep told

And that was evident during Cook's "Idol" performance. Wearing a black armband, he closed his eyes tightly while hitting the song's soaring chorus, then at tune's end, embraced "Idol" host Ryan Seacrest and admitted that he was still stuggling with the loss of his big brother.

"It's a tough song [to sing]," he told Seacrest, "But at the end of the day, to honor not only my brother, but everybody that has to deal with something like this, you stay the course and you pull strength from everybody else."

Every winner of "American Idol" appeared on the show's stage on Wednesday night to help the show bid adieu to departing judge Simon Cowell - except for one, Season 7 winner David Cook.

Janet Jackson on American Idol 2010 With All Stars

Posted: 27 May 2010 10:37 AM PDT

MJsBigBlog reports that Janet Jackson will be performing on the finale. There were also reports that Chicago and the BeeGees are showing up, but a report from the Daily Mail suggests the latter won't be able to show up because Robin Gibb missed a flight to the United States after a run-in with airport security.

The former "Idol" hopefuls" collective eventually left the stage and Miss Jackson all alone gave an emotional rendition of her new song "Nothing," which is featured on the soundtrack of Tyler Perry's "Why Did I Get Married Too?" And suddenly the sweet Jackson disappeared and the singer reemerged in a tight black bodysuit along with few male dancers for a fast past performance of her track "Nasty," Jackson's second single from her third studio album, Control (1986).

"A light show of green lasers shot through the Nokia Theatre as Jackson moved aggressively against her fellow dancers, all of whom finished the performance sans shirts. Although significantly more clothed than her stagemates, Jackson was clearly just as thrilled as the dancers as she warmly waved and blew kisses to both the audience and the judges' table at the end of her performance," the e-zine further says.

Lee DeWyze Bret Michaels In American Idol Every Rose Has Its Thorn

Posted: 27 May 2010 05:49 AM PDT

Michaels, who won "The Celebrity Apprentice" on Sunday (May 23), continued his recovery tour by doing a duet of "Every Rose Has Its Thorn" with "Idol" third-place finisher Casey James at Wednesday's (May 26) finale. Casey sang the first verse solo, and when Michaels joined him there were huge cheers from the crowd at the Nokia Theater in downtown L.A.

All this comes only about a month after Michaels suffered a brain hemorrhage that had him in critical condition for several days. He was released from the hospital earlier this month and vowed to be back on tour by the end of May.

"Every Rose Has Its Thorn" is a power ballad/rock song by American glam metal band Poison. It was released in 1988 as the third single from Poison's second album Open Up And Say... Ahh!. It is the band's first and only number-one hit in the U.S., reaching the top spot on Christmas Eve in 1988 for three weeks (carrying over into 1989). It was a #13 hit in the UK. "Every Rose Has Its Thorn" was named number 34 on VH1's "100 Greatest Songs of the 80's", #100 on their "100 Greatest Love Songs" and #3 on their " Top 25 Power Ballads" by MTV and VH1.

Michaels was a big secret, according to TMZ. In late April, the singer suffered a brain hemorrhage, but had a miraculous recovery. After being released from the hospital, however, he suffered a "warning stroke" that sent him back. However, he was able to appear on the live finale of Trump's 'Apprentice' and now 'Idol.' Watch It Below

Enjoy the Lyrics

We both lie silently still
In the dead of the night
Although we both lie close together
We feel miles apart inside

Was it something I said or something I did
Did my words not come out right
Though I tried not to hurt you
Though I tried
But I guess that's why they say

Chorus:
Every rose has it's thorn
Just like every night has it's dawn
Just like every cowboy sings his sad, sad song
Every rose has it's thorn

Yeah it does

I listen to our favorite song
Playing on the radio
Hear the dj say loves a game of easy come and
Easy go
But I wonder does he know
Has he ever felt like this
And I know that you'd be here right now
If I could have let you know somehow
I guess

Chorus

Though it's been a while now
I can still feel so much pain
Like a knife that cuts you the wound heals
But the scar, that scar remains

Solo

I know I could have saved a love that night
If I'd known what to say
Instead of makin' love
We both made our separate ways

But now I hear you found somebody new
And that I never meant that much to you
To hear that tears me up inside
And to see you cuts me like a knife
I guess

Chorus

Joe Cocker ranked No 97

Posted: 27 May 2010 05:39 AM PDT

John Robert sized musical influences growing up was Ray Charles and Lonnie Donegan. Cocker first experience singing publicly was at the age of 12 when his older brother Victor invited him on stage to sing during a concert of his skiffle group. He was ranked No. 97 on Rolling Stone's 100 greatest singers list.

He writes very little of his own material, plays no instruments and is completely at the mercy of what the producer and backing musicians he lands with. He has also received numerous awards, including a 1983 Grammy Award for his song where we belong.

John Robert "Joe" Cocker, OBE (born on 20 May 1944 in Sheffield, England) is an English rock/blues musician, composer and actor who came to popularity in the 1960s, and is most known for his gritty voice, his idiosyncratic arm movements while performing, and his cover versions of popular songs, particularly those of the Beatles. He is the recipient of several awards, including a 1983 Grammy Award for his song "Up Where We Belong", a duet which he performed with Jennifer Warnes. He was ranked #97 on Rolling Stone's 100 greatest singers list.

The Beatlies song, with Cocker is famous for having reworked into his own unique version. served as the final big-name surprise of the evening, and represented the final duet performance for Bowersox and DeWyze, before one of them was crowned the winner.

A British rock/R & B singer who's been a solo act from the start, Joe Cocker isn't a top-rank artist by any means. He writes very little of his own material, plays no instruments, and finds himself completely at the mercy of whatever producer and backing musicians he lands with. Over the years he's had sporadic success, without a solid hit album since 1970. Despite this, Cocker deserves credit for his gravelley, soulful, and distinctive singing - his phrasing and stage antics were lifted straight from Ray Charles, but he always managed to put his own stamp on the proceedings. Furthermore, he was closely tied in to the late-60s British rock scene, and during that period he brought together a lot of its best elements to produce a few fine records.
