IAS toppers 2010: Shah Faesal and Iva Sahay, both are in IAS topper list Overcoming all ordeal and militancy atmosphere in the valley, Kupwara boy Shah Faesal has topped the list of three-phase Indian Administrative Service (IAS) 2009. Dr Faesal shah is the first Kashmiri to top the Civil Services examination. His success will set an example in the valley. Faesal shah belongs to Kupwara district of Kashmir, which is believed to be hub of militancy. The 26-year-old MBBS graduate, who topped the list of 875 successful candidates, said that he was not only the first Kashmiri to achieve the milestone but also the second Muslim in the history to achieve this feat. Faesal's hometown burst into spontaneous celebrations after the announcement of the results and his family members were seen distributing sweets. Faesal said that he aimed not only at cracking Civil Services, the highest job in India, but also at overcoming the odds. His family moved to Srinagar from Sogam village in Kupwara after brutal murder of his father in 2003. His father Ghulam Rasool was a schoolteacher and well-known personality in the village. He fell prey to militants' bullets without any reason. After father's death, Faesal's family left their native place never to return.  Dr.Shah Faesal- First Rank Faesal's mother is also a schoolteacher and she said, "I am happy that he achieved his dream." Despite his science background, Faesal had chosen Urdu literature and public administration as his optional subjects for the civil service exam. Faesal’s success will also inspire budding talents in the valley. IAS Topper 2010 is a Kashmiri doctor and pledged to be an idol for young generation from troubled Kashmir. Civil Services Exam Results has been declared on Thursday. 27 years old IAS Topper Shah Faesal says he owes his achievement to his well-knit family from Kupwara. The topper has a younger brother and a young sister. His mother is 47-year-old Mubeenaji. IAS Topper Shah Faesal is overall prestigious IAS topper and the other IAS Topper is a woman, Iva Sahay, who got the highest ranking among women and third rank in the All India civil services examination 2009. On telephone telephonic interview from New Delhi he said 'I am humbled. I had faith in my hard work, Allah's grace and the blessings of my family. My mother, brother and sister equally share the honor as they supported me like a rock when I decided to sit for the most coveted exams in the country.' IAS Topper Shah Faesal cleared the exam in his first attempt. "I am very happy and want to serve the people of the country. I want to set an example by providing corruption-free administration to the people." Shah Faesal, an MBBS degree holder from Srinagar, topped the prestigious examination in his maiden attempt. A total of 875 candidates, including 680 men and 195 women, have been recommended for appointment to IAS, IFS, IPS and other central services, the UPSC said in a statement. A total of 4,09,110 candidates applied for the test while 1,93,091 appeared in the preliminary examination. Of them, 12,026 candidates qualified for the main written test while 2432 candidates were shortlisted for personality test which was conducted in March and April, 2010. Prakash Rajpurohit, a B Tech holder from IIT, Delhi, came at the second spot, while Iva Sahay, MA (Geography) from JNU, secured the third rank. While Rajpurohit made it in the second attempt, Sahay got success in her first attempt. The IAS woman topper 2010 is aimed at helping people who miserably run with files from one office to another. IAS Topper Iva Sahay said 'I must be able to improve bureaucracy so that I can help people who are running from one office to another with files,' Iva Sahay is Master in geography from Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU). She is now doing a doctorate from Allahabad University. Her father is a professor of anthropology in JNU. She completed her schooling from Ranchi and Allahabad. 'People are beaten in the mesh of politics and bureaucracy. I can't do anything about politics, but I hope I can do something about bureaucracy,' Sahay told IANS on the telephonic interview from Allahabad. IAS Topper Iva Sahay took geography and anthropology as her IAS Exam subjects. IAS Topper Iva Sahay said hard work above intelligence is required to clear the UPSC exam. Not that it breaks stereotypes familiar to Tamil cinema, but the theme more than compensates for the usual good versus bad drama. Opening in a mythical time when Tamil Nadu was ruled by Cowboys the movie takes off with a serious plot. The freshness of the theme keeps the interest till the end of first half. But the slightly elongated second half makes you wonder if the could have been edited well. Raja Mohamed is the editor and in all fairness has done a good job. The director perhaps is little carried away by the theme. The good versus bad theme runs as an under-current in this movie and one can't help but note the similarities of scenes between the ones in this movie and the ones in classic Wild West movies from Hollywood. The director should have been aware that those movies are very popular in Tamil Nadu. Padmapriya and Lakshimi Rai play the rough female cow-buys and their presence lends credibility to the movie, but nothing spectacular from them. My only crib in this movie is that, none of the lead actors do full justice to their roles. They don't fail in their attempts, but a more convincing performance would have been better. The support cast of irumbu kottai murattu singam more than fills in for this defect. Manorama, Nassar, MS Bhaskar, Delhi Ganesh, Vaiyapuri and Mouli make for a very impressive support cast. The presence of such names makes the milieu more realistic and credit must go to the director for roping in all these people for one project.  Irumbu Kottai Murattu Singam Movie Sandhya plays the love interest for Lawrence in this movie. And though I am not a big fan of her work, she pulls off an above par performance. Overall, irumbu kottai murattu singam is worth the watch. Good choice for this weekend. The government contract overrides any private deal, the court ruled. Shares of Reliance The court also said that natural gas resources cannot be subject to any family agreement and the family MoU signed by Mukesh and Anil Ambani and their mother Kokilaben was not legally and technically binding. Family agreement can only be a guiding factor about parties' intention, it said. Delivering the majority verdict of the bench headed by Chief Justice K G Balakrishnan on the four-year gas dispute between RIL and RNRL, Justice P Sathasivam said the Production Sharing Contract over-rides all other agreements. The majority verdict judgement in the RIL-RNRL gas dispute case was delivered by Chief Justice K G Balakrishnan; Justice P Sathasivam reads out verdict. He wrote some of the most popular concert and theatrical music in the current classical repertoire, including the ballets Swan Lake, The Sleeping Beauty and The Nutcracker, as well as the 1812 Overture, his First Piano Concerto, his last three numbered symphonies, and the opera Eugene Onegin. (According to his wiki page) The impact of Tchaikovsky's own works, especially in ballet, should not be underestimated; his mastery of danseuse (melodies which match physical movements perfectly), along with vivid orchestration, effective themes and continuity of thought were unprecedented in the genre, setting new standards for the role of music in classical ballet.
