Both Jeremiah Masoli and Embry Will Get 12 Months

Posted: 09 Jun 2010 06:18 PM PDT

Both Masoli and Embry will get 12 months probation, be ordered to serve 140 hours of community service within eight months and owe $5,200 in shared restitution in 10 days plus a $100 bench-probation fee. They are to report to jail within three weeks for community service. They also have been ordered to have no contact with the Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity.

Kelly, who has come under fire for some of his disciplinary decisions, also meted out punishment for running back LaMichael James and placekicker Rob Beard.

"I am extremely disappointed anytime any of our players fall short of our expectations that have been clearly outlined for them in advance on numerous occasions, and this is especially true regarding their roles within the community," Kelly said. "Their accountability for their actions is paramount and any tainting of the reputation of the University of Oregon and this football program will not be tolerated."

Jeremiah Taeatafa Masoli (born August 24, 1988 in San Francisco, California) is a former college football quarterback for the Oregon Ducks football team. On June 9, 2010, the university announced that Masoli had been dismissed from the team following his arrest for drug possession.

Brooke Hundley Is Doing Her Best

Posted: 09 Jun 2010 06:17 PM PDT

Media professional experienced in television production with broad knowledge and experience in live events, scripted shows, comedy, sports, documentaries and online content. Extensive knowledge in new and emerging technologies especially in social networks, and their successful integration into broadcast as well as complementary roles to existing programs to increase viewership.

About a month later, the 'New York Post' wrote an article based on statements Phillips had given to Wilton, Ct. police. Phillips reported in a sworn statement to the police that he had been attempting to end the relationship and that Hundley was pursuing him. Hundley's version of the events is different. In the article, the 'Post,' because of Phillips' sworn statement, characterized Hundley as a "dumped mistress" who had a "`Fatal Attraction' freakout."

ESPN said Hundley's claims are without merit. The Connecticut-based network said its investigation found Hundley's characterization of the events inconsistent.

"Hundley's claims are without merit and we will vigorously defend against them," ESPN spokesman Josh Krulewitz said. "Her current charges do not accurately portray ESPN's handling of the matter."

"Networking is not sucking up," Hundley wrote two years ago to her dean at Ithaca's Park School of Communications.

Globe Magazine Shows Gary Coleman Deathbed Pictures

Posted: 09 Jun 2010 06:15 PM PDT

Despite attempts made by Dion Mial, Coleman's longtime friend and former manager, the Gary Coleman death photos hit newsstands. Dial was appointed as special administrator of the late actor's estate by a judge in Utah. (A will signed in 1999 named also Mial as executor.)

Globe is still the best written and most factual celebrity magazine out there. I use to read Rona Barretts Hollywood magazine and went on to read all the tabloids eventually. Over the years the only one I still subscribe to is Globe and I look forward to receiving it each week. It just has the best variety of stories and it also has items of the older celebrities. Thanks for the many years of great reading!

Globe is a supermarket tabloid first published North America. It was first published on November 10, 1954 in Montreal, Canada as Midnight by Joe Azaria and John Vader and became the chief competitor to the National Enquirer during the 1960s. In 1978 it changed its name to the Midnight Globe after its publisher, Globe Communications, and eventually changed its name to Globe. The newspaper, as well as most of its rivals, is now owned by American Media Inc. and is published out of American Media's headquarters in Boca Raton, Florida. Globe covers a widespread range of topics, including politics, celebrity news, human interest and high-profile crime stories.

Sad and pathetic. I just don't understand people. Can you even imagine selling death photos of someone you loved? Me either. But obviously she didn't love him. It can't get any clearer than it is now. Sickening.

Nebraska Big 10 Like Texas or Notre Dame

Posted: 09 Jun 2010 06:14 PM PDT

Certainly Nebraska would have much more to gain playing in the Big Ten, similar to any school that joins the conference that pioneered the independent television network phenomena. As ESPN's Big Ten blogger Adam Ritteberg points out, when a conference is offering between $17 and $20 million a year in television revenue to a university, listening to what they have to say is essential.

Nebraska isn't a home-run addition like Texas or Notre Dame, but it would add another traditional power in football to the league. Although the Huskers aren't what they were when Osborne coached, the program clearly is on the rise under Bo Pelini. Nebraska also fits geographically better than Texas, as Lincoln is less than 300 miles from Iowa City. The big drawback would be a small TV market and a state that doesn't produce a ton of FBS players.

Orangebloods.com is reporting that the announcement will come Friday.

The move is expected to lead to the complete breakup of the Big 12, with Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, Texas, Texas A&M, Texas Tech and Colorado joining the Pacific-10.

"I don't know that," Hassebrook said when asked if he has been told of an offer being made by the Big Ten for Nebraska to join its conference. "I have not been told one way or the other." But it does sound as though, if a recommendation is made Friday by Perlman and Osborne to leave the 14-year-old Big 12, the Board of Regents will almost certainly comply.

Gary Coleman Deathbed Photo Is Shown By Globe

Posted: 09 Jun 2010 06:14 PM PDT

Globe are running the photo with a story about how Gary Coleman was murdered, how he was the victim of 'shocking foul play' and that a 'top investigator' came to this conclusion after examining the blood spatter on the kitchen floor where Coleman was found.

The photos of Coleman in his hospital bed, with tubes attached to his body, were according to TMZ, sold to an unspecified tabloid for possible publication as early as this week (we'll find out in a couple days which magazine, exactly, had the lowest asking price for its soul).

The Diff'rent Strokes star passed away on May 28th at Utah Valley Regional Medical Center after suffering a brain hemorrhage following a fall at his home. Various media outlets were recently approached to purchase a set of four images featuring Coleman hooked up to a ventilation machine in the moments before he died.

Edmonia has also commented on allegations Coleman's ex-wife, Shannon Price, is behind the sale, adding: "I can't think of any other reason why she would do that unless it's just for the money."

Orangebloods Expansion Discussion

Posted: 09 Jun 2010 06:13 PM PDT

Anyone else, I wouldn't post this, but Chip Brown's been on target this entire off season on the expansion discussion. It looks like we've got company in the Big Ten. I'll give a formal welcome to the University of Nebraska once everything is official, but as of right now it looks like I've got writing to do.

Sounds like the Big Ten has passed an invite to Nebraska under the table so to speak. Now watch the Big XII crumble before your eyes. If Notre Dame would just pick the Big Ten, all of this would probably die immediately, but they won't do it.

Prelude To The Dream Is Hitting All Channels

Posted: 09 Jun 2010 06:12 PM PDT

HBO Pay-Per-View will televise the event, and proceeds from the telecast will support four of the nation's top children's hospitals: Riley Hospital for Children in Indianapolis, Cincinnati Children's Hospital, Levine Children's Hospital in Charlotte, N.C., and St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in Memphis, Tenn.

The 2010 event format has changed and will now be team-driven. There will be four teams, and each will represent one of the above four children's hospitals. Each individual driver's finishing position in the feature event will contribute to each team's total score. An individual champion will also be crowned.

The top 24 drivers in Modified and Stock Car 'Big E' Points after the May 30 race event will be invited to participate in a special 'invitational only' feature in their respective class on June 9.

On a beautiful Midwestern summer night, the tiny town of Rossburg, Ohio, became the center of the racing universe thanks to a unique television partnership with HBO Pay-Per-View®. For the first time, the Prelude to the Dream event was going to be telecast live from coast-to-coast to a pay-per-view audience, with the majority of the proceeds raised from the telecast going to support the Victory Junction Gang Camp in Randleman, N.C.

"But in light of what's going on in our world today -- with our troops engaged in combat in Afghanistan, Iraq and other places around the world -- we felt it was time to do something for those who came back from serving their country with severe injuries, and for those families whose loved ones never made it back."

Alvin Greene Wipe Out Lawmaker Vic Rawl

Posted: 09 Jun 2010 06:11 PM PDT

The South Carolina Democratic Party leaders are stunned by the unanticipated nomination winning of Alvin Greene, who is an unemployed military veteran. Now, Republican U.S. Sen. Jim DeMint will face the thirty-two-year-old Alvin Greene as a challenger in November elections.

So how the heck did this man beat out 64-year-old former four-term state lawmaker Vic Rawl, who ran a $186,000 campaign? State Democratic Party Chairwoman Carol Fowler offered an uber-scientific reason, speculating that voters unfamiliar with either candidate may have voted for Greene because his name appeared first alphabetically. (Note: This theory may also account for how Bush won twice.)

Alvin Greene is a Democratic politician from South Carolina. He is the Democratic nominee in the 2010 United States Senate election, challenging incumbent Republican Jim DeMint. He won the Democratic primary race against Vic Rawl despite having no website, raising no money, and having no yard signs. An unemployed Army veteran, Greene lives with his parents near Manning in Clarendon County. The state Democratic Party chairperson states that she has not seen him since filing to run. He did not attend the state Democratic party convention, failed to file legally required forms with the Secretary of the Senate and the Federal Election Commission, and attempted to pay his $10,400 filing fee with a personal check.

"Today I spoke with Alvin Greene, the presumptive Democratic nominee for the US Senate, and asked him to withdraw from the race. I did not do this lightly, as I believe strongly that the Democratic voters of this state have the right to select our nominee. But this new information about Mr. Greene has would certainly have affected the decisions of many of those voters," said Fowler.

Tom Izzo MSU Fans Shocked About Replacing Him

Posted: 09 Jun 2010 06:09 PM PDT

Cleveland general manager Chris Grant has confirmed that the team has been in contact with Izzo and other candidates, and says there is no timetable for a hiring. The team also has had contact with former New Orleans coach Byron Scott and Milwaukee assistant Kelvin Sampson.

Update from Rick: We have three separate confirmations. Nobody at WFNY expects Izzo to announce a press conference immediately in response to this. He has his timing. We will stand by the story and wait it out.

In 15 seasons, Izzo has returned Michigan State to national prominence, placed his name in the NCAA record books and become a leader among college basketball coaches. Izzo's 364 wins are the fourth most by any coach in his first 15 seasons in the history of college basketball. In late November 2009, he passed his mentor Jud Heathcote (340 wins) to become MSU's all-time winningest coach. In the NCAA Tournament, Izzo is at his best, winning at a clip of .745 to rank third among all active coaches with at least 10 tournament games coached.

With a career record of 364-146, it's easy to see that Izzo knows how to win, but he also knows how to win the right way. In his 14 full years directing the Spartan program, 84 percent of his players who completed their eligibility also left with a degree. In the last 10 years, 31 Spartans have received their undergraduate degrees, including five each in 2001, 2003 and 2007.

Tom Izzo (born January 30, 1955) is an American college basketball coach. Since 1995, he has been the head coach for the Michigan State Spartans men's basketball team, presiding over a prolonged period of success in the program's history.

Elsewhere, Lynn Henning has a piece up telling MSU fans not to fret about replacing Izzo. (Sarcastic aside from my Twitter feed that doesn't apply to Henning, who writes about MSU on a fairly regular basis: I'm glad to see all the Detroit columnists who normally only write about MSU basketball in March are on the Izzo/Cavs case. Indispensable insights.)

Cavs owner Dan Gilbert said James will not be consulted during the coaching search, which began when he fired Mike Brown following the team's second straight early exit in the playoffs.

Gary Coleman Death Photos appears on Globe Magazine

The death photos were shot from an hour before Gary Coleman's death to just after he was taken off life support. I'm sure they'll be appearing online soon, but you won't see them here.

Gary's final photo, meanwhile, was taken after the "Diff'rent Strokes" actor was taken off life support. The site disclosed that asking price is in the low five figures.

publishing the morbid snaps could come at a price.

"Yes, you get one week of great sales but forever on you are known as the magazine that will do anything to get people to buy it," said one magazine editor.

Price is being accused of selling the pictures to the tabloid for $10,000 and is facing allegations of foul play in his death.

She was divorced from the 42-year-old actor but the two shared a home together in Utah when he suffered a fall on May 26 that caused a brain hemorrhage.

Globe Magazine Shows Gary Coleman Death Photos

Posted: 09 Jun 2010 04:20 PM PDT

Gary Coleman died on Friday, May 28 at the age of 42 after suffering from a brain hemorrhage. Gary's ex-wife Shannon Price, who was at Gary's side at his final hour and the one who authorized doctors to "pull the plug", has since made arrangements for Gary's funeral.

The individual with the photos is reportedly asking low five figures for them. The asking price is fairly reasonable by Hollywood standards, and some sick person will likely buy the photos and spread them all over the Internet and into print magazines.

The release of his dying photos is the latest in the bizarre incidents surrounding his death including an interview where his estranged wife told Entertainment Tonight her plans to,

"Spread some of [his ashes] around some train tracks because trains were his hobby and he loved that very much. And I think that he would really appreciate that I did that for him."

Aruna Shields to Bare All In Second Hindi Films

Posted: 09 Jun 2010 04:16 PM PDT

Shields plays Neera Singh, an agony aunt columnist who discovers her husband is cheating on her. Also starring Prashant Narayanan, another Brit Asian actress Lucy Hassan and Naved Aslam, the film is written and directed by Pravesh Bhardwaj and produced by Manu S Kumaran and Tutu Sharma.

She was seen in a bold avatar in the movie Prince opposite Vivek Oberoi; now British actress Aruna Shields is ready to go nude for her second Hindi film. She accepted the daring role after many rejected it. It is for the film Mr Singh Mrs Mehta that the director Pravesh Bhardwaj wanted an actress who could pose naked for a crucial scene. And according to a daily almost sixty actresses were approached for the role but all of them simply turned it down. So, what is it in the role that so many actresses found it hard to do?

According to Pravesh, the character Neera is trapped in middle class morality and is a muse for a nude painting, which changes her life and then she is not even bothered about the world once the painting becomes public. "It is a tough journey towards self-discovery," says the director, adding that none of the actresses were willing to see his viewpoint.

Natasha Alam Not Wearing a Sock

Posted: 09 Jun 2010 04:13 PM PDT

Alam's character is Yvetta, a new dancer at Fangtasia, the hotspot for vampires in Louisiana. Skarsgaard (whose character is Eric) begins a physical relationship with his latest hire. Wonder if Kate Bosworth, Skarsgaard's rumored off-screen flame, is feeling any jealousy pangs?

Natasha Alam (born March 10, 1983 in Tashkent, Uzbekistan) is a Russian-American actress and model currently living in Los Angeles. In 1996 Natasha met Amir Ebrahim Pahlavi Alam, who is the grandson of the former Shah of Iran. The couple married in New York in 1998 and divorced in 2005. Television shows she has guest or co-starred in include CSI, NYPD Blue, Nip/Tuck, The Unit and Entourage. She also played the recurring role of 'Ava', a Forrester model, in The Bold and the Beautiful from 2004 to 2007. Films she has appeared in include the 2007 horror Shadow Puppets and the 2008 comedy The Women.

"I'd never done nudity. I had to overcome a few things in my head to do it… [Then] here comes Alexander Skarsgard. He drops his robe, and he's not wearing a sock – nothing," she told the mag. "He's just totally out there, walking around as if nothing's going on. I was like, if he can do it, I can do it."
