DU cut off list 2010: A glance at Delhi University cut off list 2010

This time also a usual situation for the students clearing the Class XII examination and looking for admission in the graduation courses in the respectable Delhi University. What could be the usual situation, well; the usual thing is the usual increase in the cut off percentage in the DU colleges. [Full Cut of List of All colleges available below]

The admission for the 2010-2011 batches also saw a high increase in the off-campus colleges.

In many colleges, it showed a regular marginal rise of 0.25% to 1%, but the cut-offs also saw some steep jumps in colleges like Shyama Prasad Mukherjee College, which saw a hike of 5% for B.Com. (Hons.). Mata Sundri College saw a rise of 4% for B.Com. (Hons.). Keshav Mahavidyala also saw a rise of steep 3% for B.Sc. Computer Science (Hons.).

Many colleges withheld the cut-off percentages for the courses in their colleges. Some even came up only with their last year cut-offs. Colleges like Ramjas College, ARSD, Agrasen College, and Zakir Husain College did not participate in the drawing up of the cut-off list, and in some colleges, they repeated last year's cut off list to be on the safer side. Hindu also didn't show up the cut-offs for most of its courses.

In many colleges, the cut-offs also remained unchanged for the popular courses. In Sri Ram College of Commerce (SRCC), the cut-off percentage for its widely appreciated B.Com. (Hons.) Course remained the same as that of previous year at 95.25%, but the Economics (Hons.) saw a marginal rise of 25%. Hansraj College hiked its cut-off for B.Com. (Hons.) by 0.75%. Kirori Mal College also witnessed a rise of 1.5% for the course. The cut-offs at Ramjas College remained same as the previous year, 94.5% for B.Com. (Hons.) and 93.5% for B.Com.

Well, if you do not fall in the top scoring lot, then you need not lose your heart. You can still find good place in colleges like Dyal Singh College, Kalindi College, Laxmi Bai College, Maharaja Agrasen College, Shaheed Bhagat Singh College (evening) and Zakir Husain College (morning), and many more colleges.

However, you are from Science stream, then the admission process may seem a little more costly affair for you. The colleges saw some bigger hikes in the Science courses. The cut-off for Physics (Hons.) and Chemistry (Hons.) in Miranda House saw a hike of 2% and 4% respectively. At Kirori Mal College, the cut went up by 2% for both Physics (Hons.) and Chemistry (Hons.). Sri Venkateswara College saw a rise of 1% to 2% in various science courses. However, the cut-off of one of the most sought after course in the Delhi University, B.Sc. Computer Science (Hons.) remained largely unchanged in most of the colleges providing it.

And if you are looking for the courses in Humanities, then the things may seem a little easier as compared to the last year. The Humanities courses saw a dip of 2% to 3% in many colleges.

So, if you are looking for the admission in the respectable colleges of Delhi University, check the cut-off and be ready for the admission process. The admission process will begin on Wednesday, June 23, and will continue for three days till June 25.

If you are lagging with a very small percentage, you can still have a chance. The second cut-off will be declared by various colleges on June 26.

If you fall under the cut-off percentage marks, then all you'll need to carry is class X and XII mark sheets and certificates in original and self-attested Photostat copies. If you don't have the class XII mark sheet in your hand, then you'll need to produce a provisional certificate.

And there is no need to rush for the admission process. If you fall in the eligibility criteria, you'll not be denied admission for the three scheduled days of admission if you fall in the particular cut-off.
