A new face on the silver screen? Most definitely. Rooney Mara will be playing the role of Lisbeth Salander. The character is a victim of abuse, a very punk looking woman. At the same time, the character will represent a cyber genius and investigator. What does the industry have to say to this casting?From her name, Rooney Mara sounds quite fit for the remake of 'the girl with the dragon tattoo'. It paints the picture of a foreign, plain looking blonde. It will be a challenge for Rooney Mara to play Salander. The very character is full of mystery, of a sense of alien qualities. It has to be punk but in a ghostly sort of way. Any actress who has to play such a role must be able to detach from who she is in real life and get into the skin of this tormented avenger. The expression of the role must not be words alone. A subtle quietness, a mystery side of it must come out well. Probably, that's where Rooney Mara can do better. Since she is not an established name, she is unaffected by previous experiences. In this movie, she resembles the case of searching for Scarlett O'Hara. By signing up Vivien Leigh, it was a similar choice. What is needed now is to bring to the screen all the qualities of Salander, a mix of both agony and empowerment. It has to strike a perfect balance. Fincher's track record shows that he knows what he is doing. With hits like Zodiac, the remake of The girl with the dragon tattoo, should be another milestone for the director. |

Not only U.S., other countries have been lucky too so far, as the cars have been further exported to Canada, Mexico, China, Saudi Arabia and many more such countries where scope of trade is high, as according to the automaker and regulators. But there is one problem amongst all the plans. The GM Co. is confused as if they put on the secong safety belt, then it would get difficult for the to make out whether the latch was done or undone. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has a file reported by GM claimming to be aware of the problems discovered. |

 Onam Greetings Onam Pookalam this year begins on August 23rd Monday. The festival that celebrates the arrival of spring is celebrated with much fanfare in the southern state of India-Kerala.  Madani Madani was arrested today morning by the Karnataka police which had issued a non-bailable arrest warrant for the PDP leader who is said to have a hand in the blasts that had rocked Bangalore in 2008. The Karnataka police executed the arrest today when Madani was leaving his camp post the mid-day prayer. Madani's wife Soofiya & his personal aid were the only people allowed to stay with him. Abdul Nasser Madani's arrest warrant was executed by Bangalore DCP Omkarayya. A contingent of police geared in riot wear encircled the vehicle in which Madani was travelling from his orphanage-cum-madrassa in Anwarassery. The reporters gathered there in large numbers were informed about his arrest by Karnataka SP Harshita Attalluri who was leading the team. There was a bit of drama during the arrest while the supporters of the PDP leader screamed out their support with slogans and the women showed their misery at Madani's arrest with copious tears. Otherwise the arrest was a peaceful one. |

They have left for the South American location on 17th August and shall continue to be there for twenty days. Priyanka Chopra has been preparing for the action show for quite some time. She has spent a considerable time at the gym ahead of the schedule and has been observing closely the previous seasons of the show hosted by Akshay Kumar. Now she appeared quite confident about her TV debut and admitted that watching Akshay handling the show helped her a lot. She admired his ways of motivating the contestants and persuading them to take up the acts without fear. “When we did Aitraaz and Andaaz together, I was scared of so many things. He held my hand then too and encouraged me to give my best shot. Today, it’s time for me to hold someone else’s hand", remarked Ms. Chopra. | Dhobi Ghaat: contemporary approach in Bollywood cinema Posted: 17 Aug 2010 04:35 AM PDT  Dhobi Ghat First look Indian superstar Aamir khan's next venture and Kiran Rao's directorial debut is an interesting amalgamation of art and wok where art is the world of photography and work is the Dhobi Ghaat which is one of the wheels of Mumbai city contributing to the humming of city. The movie begins with Arun played by Aamir Khan who is a famous photographer who is introduced at the gallery launch of his extensive work to a woman of Indian American origin, Shai who is in the city to pay a visit to her family members. There is some filtration but the next morning when reality dawns upon Arun he shoves her out of his doors. But the city of Mumbai has millions of daily wagers and workers who link different people every day through different means. The same happens with Shai and Arun who have a common man working for both of them and that is Zohaib who is the local laundry man, dreaming of entering the tinsel town and making it big in Bollywood. The character of Shai is played by Monica Dogra who follows the laundry to the Dhobi Ghat and is so fascinated by him that she starts capturing the shots of him busy in his work and washing the clothes on the Ghaat. It's a new approach to contemporary cinema for which both Kiran Rao and Aamir Khan is taking an imitative together. |

With an excellent star cast of Rajnikant and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan along with Danny Denzongpa, the movie has been directed by the sought after south director Shankar and produced under a huge budget of 160 crores by Sun Pictures Kalanithi Maran. The social networking sites had the residents claiming that they felt an earthquake in Mumbai but then why are the officials denying the news? The city of Mumbai was still under darkness when the first tweet at the micro blogging site twitter came around 1:10 am, with the message saying that the individual had felt tremors. Following this many people claimed that they too felt the same, particularly people residing in the central Mumbai areas gave out their experience of a possible tremor that shook Mumbai. A woman residing in the Mulund area said that she could feel her building shake and thinks that the reason behind could be an earth quake. Another man from Panvel, named Hari Iyer has similar notion. He said that he felt dizzy and also saw articles move, for which the probable cause behind, was an earth quake. But the surprising factor is that the Mumbai fire control department members simply refused any such happening and said that nothing of such sort has been reported accompanied with no damage done anywhere irrespective of what the people report. Another resident of Mulund, Bharat Sharma also conveyed his experience when he was at his place during the late hours of night. He said that both he and his wife felt the tremors and feared that it could be an earth quake. |

The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo is set to be remade by American director David Fincher. For the lead role of the film, that is due for release in December 2011, Fincher has chosen Rooney Mara.
On Tuesday, the automaker informed, 2,43,000 models have been ordered by General Motors Co. from the year 2009-2010. But only the crossover sport utilities have been asked for, especially in the United States of America. The above is being done for safety inspections and make required changes to improve the safetly belts in the car.
