This guy may be a bit slow on the uptake. After receiving some 3,000 text messages, the man began to think something was wrong. He eventually found out that his mobile phone number was used in a police TV drama. The bad guy rambled his phone number, slowly so the listener could write it down, aloud on-screen. Soon after, Chen of China started receiving a stream of text The drama ran from 2004-06 and then on DVD. The production company said they made the number up from an employee's birthday…who, btw, did NOT get a stream of birthday cards or presents. No one thought to check if it were a real number or not. The courts did, however. The Runshi Rongguang Film Production Co. was ordered to pay 2,000 yuan to the customer…that's about 8.5cents per text message that he had to delete. Wow! I bet he feels better now. |

Japan's Hotel Okura Co. will put a branch Macau, China. The luxury hotel will begin operating on behalf of a Hong Kong entertainment firm starting September 2009. It's a first for Hotel Okura in Macau. The new hotel will offer 400 guest rooms, a Japanese restaurant and a bar. Its operation will be outsourced by Galaxy Entertainment Group Ltd. Galaxy Entertainment will invest about Y140 billion in Macau by 2008 to build casinos and hotels. On the same plot of land for Hotel Okura's new hotel will be a casino and a spa. The new location will be Hotel Okura's 10th overseas site. Japanese visitors heading to Macau are growing at an annual rate of 30%. Hmm…wonder where the Japanese tourists will be staying. The deodorants are launched under the brand name ‘Dynamite’ (for male) and ‘Attitude’ (for female) has been priced at Rs 199 per bottle of 150 ml.
Vice-President Mr Yoginder Singh said the product is backed by extensive research on fruits and vegetables like tomato, apple, spinach, raspberries, oranges and green tea. "Despite being the largest fruit and vegetable producer in the world, the per capita consumption of fruits and v egetables in India is the lowest in the world. The nutrition industry has huge potential in urban India," Mr Singh said, adding the vitamin and dietary supplement market in the country is poised to grow by 33 per cent by 2013. |

The People's Bank of China, China's central bank will establish a unified criteria that defines what a 'second home' menas. The four biggest banks - Industrial and Commercial Bank of China (ICBC) Bank of China, China Construction Bank, and Agricultural Bank of China have determined "Three Basic Lines" =
1. a loan from personal provident funds will not be taken into account when judging a second-home mortgage. 2. a borrower who has paid off all his previous home loans will be considered a first-home buyer. 3. a transaction by a home loan borrower's spouse will be defined as a second-home purchase. The minimum mortgage down payment for second-home buyers was raised to 40% from 30% last month to curb speculation and ease risks. In August in 70 some major cities in China's property prices were 8.2% higher this year than they were last year. They were 7.5% higher in July. Prices are going up…and going up faster. Rafeal NAdal has won the US open 2010 beating Djokovik and completed a career Grand Slam, In a thrilling final Nadal defeated Novak Djokovic 6-4, 5-7, 6-4, 6-2. Nadal who hadn't dropped a set till now did lose one but that was a very small price to pay for the man who was once touted as a 'clay court specialist'. The match that was interrupted for over an hour due to rains resumed in the second set which would be the only one that the Spaniard would lose in the tournament. You could watch the highlights of the Nadal-Djokovic final on Ten Sports if you're in India or other parts of South Asia. Alternatively highlights of the match could be watched on the Official Website of the US Open Nadal went onto win the next two sets to pocket his 3rd Slam of the year. Lady Gaga made fashion waves at MTV’s MVA awards when she wore a dress that would look great on a Coleman Grill. The meat-mini has matching bovine booties and a purse and hat. The hat looks like raw dinner.
