Rs 5 cut in petrol price, Rs 3 in diesel by Dec-end

Posted: 04 Sep 2010 12:24 PM PDT

The government is likely to cut petrol price by Rs 5 a litre and diesel by Rs 3 per litre after Assembly elections in six states are completed on December 24.

Crude has fallen from all-time high of $147 per barrel to around $50 now. Naturally, there are expectations that petrol and diesel prices should be reduced and we will do that," Petroleum Minister Murli Deora told reporters in New Delhi. The prices would be cut before December-end.

The government had in June raised petrol price by Rs 5 a litre, diesel by Rs 3 per litre and domestic LPG by Rs 50 per cylinder as crude oil prices had climbed to record highs. The hike is now expected to be rolled back. "We have to reduce prices but it will happen after assembly elections," he said.

As a result of fall in the international oil prices, state-run Indian Oil , Bharat Petroleum and Hindustan Petroleum started making profit on sale of petrol from November 1 and on diesel from November 15.

Revelation 5:1-14 – Commentary

Posted: 04 Sep 2010 08:22 AM PDT

1. And I saw in the right hand -
Remember the right hand, the hand that does.

of him who sat on the throne
- it is God’s hand. He’s on the throne.

a book written inside and on the back, sealed up with seven seals. – Something is secret and needs to be revealed. It can only be revealed when the book is open.

2. And I saw a strong angel proclaiming with a loud voice
- some messenger or servant of God. But notice that it is a strong angel and not just a regular angel.

Who is worthy to open the book and to break its seals -
even the strong angel was not worthy. It is going to take something or someone special to open this book. All this points out that there is something special about the book. Only God can be worthy to open the book.

3. And no one in heaven or on the earth or under the earth was able to open or to look into it.-
Nobody is able. There must be something about this book. And there is.

4. And I began to weep greatly, because no one was found worthy to open the book or to look into it. -
John realizes the importance of this book or its significance. John weeps greatly because he can’t find the message of the book.

5. and one of the elders -
One of God’s ministers for His behalf.

said to me, “Stop weeping: behold the Lion that is from the tribe of Judah, the root of David, has overcome so as to open the book and its seven seals. -
This is just like God to not leave John in a terrible state, He immediately sends someone to give him comfort. Praise the Lord we’re going to find out what the book says.

6. And I saw between the throne (with the four living creatures) and the elders -
someone is in the midst of God’s throne. Certainly it is someone who is worthy of being in that position. Who is it?

a Lamb standing -
notice that the Lamb is standing and not laying.

as if slain, -
The lamb was slain but it is now standing. It is a victorious lamb.

having seven horns and seven eyes, which are the seven spirits of God, sent out into all the earth -
Horns represent power. The lamb has the same seven Spirits that God has. The Lamb must be equal to God. He is.

7. And He came and He took it out of the right hand of Him who sat on the throne. -
This Lamb must have been great. He could take the book out of the hand of God. There’s something special about this Lamb.

8. And when He had taken the book, the four living creatures and the twenty four elders fell down before the Lamb, -
but only God was supposed to be worthy of this praise. This Lamb must either be God or equal to God. The Lamb is great.

having each one a harp and golden bowls full of incense, which are the prayers of the saints –
The harp and the golden bowls identify for sure that these are of God. Remember though that they are praising the Lamb.

9, 10. And they sang a new song, saying “Worthy art thou to take the book, and to break the seals;for thou wast slain and didst purchase for God with thy blood from every tribe and tongue and people and nation and thou hast made a kingdom and priests to our God and they will reign upon the earth.” -
his show us that the Lamb both provides for redemption and pronounces judgment. It shows the work of the Lamb and outcome and why He can judge.

11-14. And I looked and I heard the voice of many angels around the throne and the living creatures and the elders; and the number of them was myriads of myriads, and thousands of thousands, saying with a loud voice “Worthy is the Lamb that was slain to receive power and riches and wisdom and might and honor and glory and blessing.” And every created thing which is in heaven and on the earth and under the earth and on the seas, and all things in them, I heard saying, ” To Him who sits on the the throne, and to the Lamb, be blessing and honor and glory and dominion forever and ever. And the four living creatures kept saying, “Amen.” And the elders fell down and worshiped. -

Shows the Lamb is worthy and all praise goes to Him as it did to the Father. Shows the equality of the Lamb with the Father. All fell down and worshiped because the Lamb was worthy.

Theme of Ch. 1 – God with His people.
Theme of Chs. 2,3 – Christ’s bid for us to overcome.
Theme of Chs. 4.5 – God and the Lamb(Christ) are worthy of all the praise they receive.

We receive in these two chapters three great pictures.

I. The THRONE. (4:1-11)

1. Emerald rainbow

4. Seven lamps – Seven Spirits
5. 4 living creatures
C. It is seperated from all – v.6
D. The one who sits upon it receives all praise and glory and honor and power. – v.8b-11

II. The BOOK. (5:1-4)
It is great because-
A. Sealed with seven seals. – v.1
B. Held by strong angel. – v.2
C. No one was counted worthy of opening it. – v.3
D. The message of the book was of such vital importance that it caused John to weep greatly because he could not learn the message. – v.4

III. The LAMB. (5:5-15)

E. He has the seven horns and the seven Spirits of God. – v.6

G. He was counted worthy to open the book and to look into it. – v.9

I. The things that he had done. – v.9-10
