Quotes

"You see a lot now in one-day games, teams consistently getting up near the 300, but as we’ve seen here all the games have been a contest and I think that’s all you’re after … It’s enjoyable sometimes to come and play on different wickets and have different plans in mind, to get 220 is a very good score in these sorts of conditions, so it’s been quite good."
Brad Haddin

"We will learn a lot from this experience, by playing against the Australian team."

Mahindra will be launching, Mahindra Mojo today, which the company claims to be the most powerful bike manufactured in India. The launching will be done in the second capital of India, Mumbai.

The company has not declared its specifications officially as of now but there are certain speculations made that claim that the 300cc bike might be installed with 4-valve engine. It is also said that the bike might also be fitted with disc brakes in its front and rear alloy wheels. These breaks help the vehicle to stop instantly.

The Mojo also has twin headlamps and LED tail lamps that consume less power. The Mahindra Mojo also has a digital instrument cluster which helps in notifying the rider of speed, fuel remaining, rpm and time.
The launch of the vehicle will clarify all the doubts regarding the Mahindra Mojo.

Golden Week Holidays Out in 2009

Posted: 29 Sep 2010 11:45 PM PDT

It seems that China is planning on scrapping the three week-long "Golden Week" holidays that have been a part of the country's yearly downtimes since 1999….introduced to boost tourism and holiday use. At least that is what the tourism industry is hoping.

A dean of the tourism administration department at Beijing International Studies University, told a forum in Xiamen, that the May Day week-long holiday would be shortened to one day, and the National Day Golden week to two days.

In their place – Mid-Autumn Day, and Beijing's choice of two from

1. the Lantern Festivalchina.golden.week.jpg

2. the Tomb-Sweeping Day

3. the Dragon-Boat Festival

4. Double Nine Day

The Lunar New Year golden week will be kept.

Another idea…compulsory paid vacations will be written into the labor laws..7 days a year, and increasing by one day each year up to

14 days maximum.

There are problems with the plan.

As long as the Chinese continue to travel in droves, all at the same time, three times a year…there are great threats to heritage sites and scenic spots.

However, China's social conditions are not considered mature enough to allow for paid vacations.

At any rate, the tourism industry wants to make sure there are opportunities for the Chinese to travel AND that there is something left for others to see after the first 100 waves go home.

Which do you think is a better system…three week long holidays, or smaller holidays and paid leave for workers dispersed throughout the year?
