The IPL Governing council has thrown out 2 IPL teams Rajasthan Royals and King’s XI Punjab from the Indian Premiere League. The IPL 4 auction has been rescheduled to January 2011.

.

Times of India
writes ” Indian Premier League governing council terminated the
franchise agreements with the Rajasthan Royals and Kings XI Punjab even
though the Kochi franchise was spared for now.

The Kochi franchise has been issued a notice and asked to settle internal differences.

CRicinfo reports “The IPL’s governing council said in a release after the meeting. “It was unanimously decided that the franchise agreements with KPH Dream Cricket Private Limited (Punjab) and Jaipur IPL Cricket Private Limited (Rajasthan) be terminated forthwith based on the legal opinions obtained by BCCI in the matters,”

“It was further unanimously decided to issue a notice to the unincorporated joint venture holding the Kochi franchise, calling upon them to resolve all their disputes and form a joint venture company which will hold the IPL franchise rights.”

One of the co-owners of the Rajasthan franchise, Raj Kundra, responded to the development by saying that they would explore legal options. “We’ve satisfied all Enforcement Directorate [ED] requirements,” Kundra told NDTV. “We have no idea [why the agreement was terminated]. We need to see a copy of the termination notice and study it.”

35 million tv sets sold in 2006

That's a lot of boob tubes...35 million tv sets were bought/sold in China last year for about 93.5 billion yuan…says the China Securities Journal.

Traditional cathode ray tubes make up almost 60% of those sales. Flat-screen sales were up 150% to 4.8 million units.

LCD sets made up about 80% of flat-screen sales. The other 20% were plasma screen sets.

Prices on 32-42 inch LCD sets were down 32% last year; 35-45 inch plasma screen sets were down 45%.

Sales of flat-screen tvs are expected to go up 70% this year…

How about you?

What will it take for you to get rid of that perfectly good big box 38 inch TV that you spent over a $1000 for a couple of years ago just so you can have a flat screen?
