Sarah Harding cynical about love, marriage

Sarah Harding cynical about love, marriageActress Sarah Harding has revealed that she is cynical when it comes to relationships.

The "Girls Aloud" star, whose parents split when she was 14 years old, has been in a relationship with DJ Tom Crane for three years but is still unsure if he's the one for her.

"Tommy could be my soulmate. I think time is a great test. I've learnt over the years not to think that straight away because you're in the honeymoon period. I used to become infatuated with people, but it would end before the honeymoon period was over and I'd be left devastated," femalefirst.co.uk quoted her as saying.

"Now I'm a bit cynical when it comes to relationships and marriage, probably because of my own family history. When the time's right I think we'll know."

The 28-year-old singer doesn't plan to get married until she's in her 30s, because she's busy focussing on her career.

She said: "Maybe I haven't got the same strong values at Tom when it comes to marriage. I just think when the time's right we'll know. When would I fit in a wedding when I'm working all the time?

"My mum got married quite young, and I think I'd like to wait until I'm in my 30s. Your 20s are about sorting out your career."

"I'm possibly a very morbid person, but I think about death a lot. I don't know if it's maybe from being in films, or from playing Harry, but I just think it's a natural thing that I have. It's fascinating in a very alien kind of way," said Radcliffe.

"My experience of death is quite limited, thankfully. But in that scene... when you're faced with death, that's all you can think about," he added.

Zoya Akhtar to drop bull run scenes from 'Zindagi Milegi Na Dobara'Indian filmmaker Zoya Akhtar has been asked to remove scenes capturing Spain's famous running of the bulls from her upcoming film "Zindagi Milegi Na Dobara".

Spanish-American actress Charo has written a letter to the filmmaker asking her to delete the scenes, reports contactmusic.com.

"Deriving any pleasure from abusing bulls is something we should all be ashamed of and certainly nothing that should be promoted in a feature film," Charo wrote in her letter to Akhtar, who had earlier helmed "Luck By Chance".

"Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara" features Hrithik Roshan, Abhay Deol and Farhan Akhtar and it is scheduled for a April 2011 release. A few scenes in the film were reportedly shot in Pamplona, Spain, during the famous bull event, part of the annual nine-day festival of Sanfermines that involves crowds running in front of a herd of the beasts let loose throughout the town's streets.

"Non-violence is the greatest virtue. We have long been out of the caves. Let us get rid of these outdated traditions. (The) World will be a better place without these blood-sports," said Rajan Zed, president of Universal Society of Hinduism.

Aishwarya Rai's attires charms Malaysian Indians

Aishwarya Rai's attires charms Malaysian IndiansTraditional dresses worn by Bollywood actress Aishwarya Rai in the films "Raavan" and "Robot", which have been runaway hits here this year, are the flavour of the season as Malaysian Indians shop for Deepavali.

The churidar and long-sleeved kameez Aishwarya wore as a dance teacher who gets kidnapped in the modern-day version of the "Ramayana" are a hit among women shoppers.

Both the Tamil ("Raavanan") and Hindi versions ("Raavan") released here, while the Aishwarya-starrer "Robot" with megastar Rajnikant was a huge hit.

The traditional dresses - called masakali - have been in the market since early this year. But sales have peaked as Deepavali approaches.

The salwar-kameez also come with transparent long sleeves and chudidar pants, the New Straits Times reported Monday.

Malaysia is home to 2.1 million ethnic Indians, a bulk of them Tamils who throng to Chennai-made films. But craze for Bollywood films transcends racial lines. The Bachchans - Amitabh, Jaya, Abhishek and Aishwarya - and the Khans - Shah Rukh, Aamir, Salman and Saif Ali - are immensely popular here.

Thiyananthan Bathumalai, managing director of Harekrishna Silk, said most of the masakali dresses in the market were inspired by movie stars.

"For example, we now have 'Robot masakali', which was inspired from the movie 'Endhiran' ('Robot') and 'Raavan masakali', which was inspired by 'Raavan'," he said.

Thiyananthan said many customers ask for masakali suits on entering his shop.

"People still ask for 'Anarkali suits' or 'Patiala suits' which were the craze some time ago. But this year, it looks like Aishwarya Rai is leading," he said.

In Kuala Lumpur, trader M. Maniam said many people ask for Punjabi suits or saris worn in particular movies.

"Every year, we have customers asking for a particular sari or suit that was worn by an actress in a movie. This year, everyone is asking for masakali suits which were worn by Aishwarya Rai."

The trader, who operates at the KL Sentral car park, said most of his dresses came from India.

Meanwhile, a resolution taken by Indian shopkeepers in Malaysia to keep the prices reasonable has won praises from the government.

The government has imposed a price ceiling on essential commodities. But some Indian shops are selling well below the ceiling price.

One shop in George Town was found selling imported Australian lentils at a big discount from the stipulated ceiling price.

This caught Deputy Domestic Trade, Cooperatives and Consumerism Minister Tan Lian Hoe by surprise during her visit here.

Tan lauded the trader, saying: "It is a sensible move by traders not to charge customers at the maximum price during festivities.

Actress Courteney Cox has opened up about her split with husband David Arquette for the first time and says she is not filing for divorce.

The "Friends" star acknowledges that she and her husband of 11 years are no longer on the same page, reports people.com.

"Sometimes you just realise 'Wow, we actually have grown apart," said Cox.

On Halloween weekend, Cox leaned on her "Friends" co-star Jennifer Aniston.

"We just have fun, we laugh, we're inseparable and it's great, it's funny, a lot of really close friends are kind of going through this right now or like Jennifer who has gone through it. I don't know what's going on in the planets or what, but things are being shaken up and I don't know what's going to happen, but, yeah, Jennifer has been amazing for sure," she said.

Prachi Desai, Neha Dhupia add glamour to Bridal Week

Prachi Desai, Neha Dhupia add glamour to Bridal WeekActresses Prachi Desai and Neha Dhupia added glamour to a show put together by designer duo Falguni and Shane Peacockthe at the ongoing Amby Valley India Bridal Week (AVIBW), which is low on Bollywood quotient.

While Prachi sashayed on the ramp in a nude tone net sari with sequins border and opened the show, Neha dazzled in a gold floral embroidered gown with a bare back moulded top and it was teamed up with red net dupatta (stole).

"Personally, I'm not fond of jewellery and heavy outfits, but Falguni and Shane have made a great outfit. They gave me these hues because they wanted to bring out the freshness in a young bride," Prachi told IANS.

The collection, which was named the Victorian Peacock Bridal collection, was a combination of bold prints in a melange of colours, sprinkled with crystals and feathers.

"The collection is outstanding. Just to wear these clothes, I wish I could become a bride more than once. Because the clothes are so nice that you can't decide which outfit would you like to wear for the wedding," said Neha.

The garments ranged from flared lehengas, saris and evening gowns in net, chiffon, satin and velvets. With antique crystal and gold sheeting the designers offered a fusion of ethnic embroidery with western silhouettes.

"Our show was for the modern bride who really wants to dress up and have fun and basically wants a modern garment with a traditional touch. A lot of effort has gone in co-ordinating the whole look," said Falguni.

Bipasha Basu all set to make her Hollywood Debut

Posted: 01 Nov 2010 03:14 AM PDT

Bipasha Basu all set to make her Hollywood DebutAfter sizzling on Bollywood screen for almost a decade, dusky beauty Bipasha Basu has signed her first international project -- English-French director Roland Joffe's "Singularity".

The 31-year-old is extremely excited and admits she does have butterflies in her stomach.

"I am very excited...but have to admit that I am also a little nervous. Everything happened really fast," Bipasha told IANS over phone from Mumbai.

Bipasha met Joffe in a chance encounter at the Taj Land's End Hotel in Mumbai in September.

The $33 million movie, written by Ajey Jhankar, is a riveting tale of an impossible love set across two time periods and continents.

It is set in the backdrop of the First Anglo-Maratha War of the 18th century and revolves around four characters - a British officer in colonial India and the Indian woman he falls in love with, an American marine biologist and his researcher lover -- who gets trapped in a wrecked British merchant ship.

The film will be shot in Australia and India. Bipasha will be flying to Brisbane in the first week of November.

Bipasha, who will be missing Diwali for the initial rehearsals for the film, says she would have loved to get some more time to prepare for her role.

"I am not getting much of preparation time right now. I have been given just eight days to prepare for underwater scenes and horse riding...I wish I had at least a month's time for preparation," she said.

As much as she would have liked to, Bipasha is also not getting much time to brush up on her history.

"There is just no time before I fly out! I have finished all my pending endorsement assignments and now I will try and grasp whatever I can there itself," she said.

Nevertheless, she is looking forward to working with Hollywood actors.

"The script is fantastic. They have a lot of expertise in their field...it's going to be a whole lot of hard work, and it's going to be great fun to adapt to their system of working," she said.

"Singularity" also stars Bollywood actor Abhay Deol besides Hollywood stars Chris Pine, Josh Hartnett, Olga Kurylenko, Christopher Egan and Shane Briant, among others.

Bipasha will shoot from the third week of November till the last week of December in Brisbane.

Her upcoming Indian projects include "Dum Maaro Dum" and Abbas-Mustan's "Players".

Bipasha is glad that Abbas-Mustan, who gave her a launchpad with 2001 film "Ajnabee", were accommodating enough to adjust their dates so that she could give her nod to "Singularity".

The film is tentatively slated for a 2011 release.

Ajay Devgan feels under pressure of promoting films

Posted: 01 Nov 2010 03:09 AM PDT

Ajay Devgan feels under pressure of promoting filmsBollywood star Ajay Devgan may have appeared in "Kaun Banega Crorepati" to promote his forthcoming comedy "Golmaal 3", but he actually opposes the new marketing gimmick of using TV shows to market movies.

"I am always under the producer's pressure to do such things to promote films. If one is doing it, then another has to do it as well because it becomes a habit for the audience to watch such things," Ajay told IANS in an interview.

He joined Arshad Warsi, Kunal Khemu, Shreyas Talpade, Tusshar Kapoor and director Rohit Shetty on the quiz show hosted by megastar Amitabh Bachchan for Sony. The film is releasing Friday.

Special efforts are made to create space for movie stars in television programmes, says Ajay.

"Scenes are written to incorporate the stars of the respective film to promote it (through serials). It's not a good idea. I don't know where it will meet its end. But one can't stop it, will have to do it unanimously. I always do it indifferently," said the 41-year-old.

He had earlier appeared on "Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashma" and also featured in an episode of "Crime Patrol" to promote "Aakrosh", a film about honour killings.

The trend was started by Abhishek Bachchan when he appeared on the hit series "Balika Vadhu" to promote his 2008 release "Drona". In recent times, Akshay Kumar joined the cast of "Sasural Genda Phool" for the marketing of "Khatta Meetha"; Salman Khan appeared on Colors' soap "Laagi Tujhse Lagan" for his recent mega hit "Dabangg"; and Neetu and Rishi Kapoor featured on SAB TV's comedy show "Tarak Mehta Ka Ulta Chashma" to introduce their film "Do Dooni Chaar".

Promotion strategy notwithstanding, Ajay says "Golmaal 3" is a fulsome Diwali treat to the audience and what sets it apart from the last two instalments of the brainless comedies is that this time they have a story to tell.

"The only intention of making sequels of 'Golmaal' is to entertain people, not to find logic. We planned to release it during Diwali because that's the festive season and people want to enjoy a movie with family. That's why we try keeping 'Golmaal' clean.

"There is a very interesting story this time. It's complicated in the sense that there are two groups and how they fight and get together. There is a nice emotional angle to it. With laughs throughout the movie, somewhere it touches your heart and again resumes to be a full-fledged comedy," said Ajay.

Talking about his character, he said: "My character is little crazy and mad. He has got a bad temper, which makes the character completely different from the first two. That's why the character is given a very edgy look."

The actor says in real he is not at all like the character in the movie. "I am not a mad person. That character is too short tempered."

The ensemble cast also includes actor Kareena Kapoor. "In this film we needed more characters. Kunal has done a good job in the film," said Ajay.

The national award winning actor, who featured in three different movies this year - comedy "Atithi Tum Kab Jaoge?", political thriller "Raajneeti" and underworld saga "Once Upon A Time In Mumbaai" - has always garnered rave reviews for his varied performances.

"I feel I am very lucky because firstly I got to work in different genres with good directors at the right time. Secondly, I am very happy that people have liked those films. So, I can do different genres and I think acting keeps getting better with experience," he said.

Rohit Shetty to direct an action film after 'Golmaal 3'

Rohit Shetty to direct an action film after 'Golmaal 3'After tickling funny bones of audiences with comedies like "Golmaal", "Golmaal Returns" and "All The Best", director Rohit Shetty plans to make an action film.

"Yes, I would surely make an action film, sometime in the next year," said Shetty whose debut movie "Zameen" was an action thriller as well.

John Abraham to focus on action roles

Posted: 01 Nov 2010 02:35 AM PDT

John Abraham to focus on action rolesAfter the debacle of "Jhootha Hi Sahi", Bollywood's pin-up star John Abraham has decided to focus on mainstream roles. He is currently toning muscles for Hindi remake of Tamil blockbuster "Kaakha Kaakha".

With his last two films "Ashaayein" and "Jhootha Hi Sahi" not doing well, you would think John's producers are in the process of a serious re-think. Far from being discouraged, the makers are in the process of enhancing the original material.

Director Nishikant Kamat remains unfazed by the performance of John's films.

"My producer Vipul Shah and I signed John for the 'Kaakha Kaakha' remake because we saw him doing the action hero's part to perfection. So far, no film has tapped that side of him. John will be performing some of the most dangerous stunts ever seen in our film," he said.

John, 37, has right now halted the shooting of key action sequences in his first full-fledged action film. Apart from Bollywood's best action director Allan Amin, he has also asked for an action team from South Africa to supervise his stunts.

Confirming this, Kamat said: "We'll do the action scenes later. I cannot do those loud larger-than-life stunts sequences where the hero beats up 20 adversaries single-handedly."

"The action in my film has to be in the more realistic yet hardcore commercial space. It's a challenge for both me and John. For me, commercial cinema is new. I've butterflies in my stomach every time I go on the sets," he added.

A source close to John says it's goodbye to experimental characters for the actor.

No more playing against personality for John. No more nerdy or dying characters. It's muscles and beefcake all the way as the pinup boy acquires an adrenaline-pumping chest-thumping image for his next, said the source.
