Apart from the international food chains flourishing in India, the country also has its home grown food chains that provide mouthwatering dishes for the Indian as well as foreign pallets. Here are the top five Indian food chains that are now known as an Indian food brand.

1. Bikanerwala – Bikanerwala is famous for its mouthwatering 'chats', 'Cholle puri', 'samosas', 'kachoris' and all Indian snacks. Bikarnerwala is also the best place for a quick and satisfying snack.

2. Haldirams – Haldirams is one of the oldest food chains in India established in the year 1937 by Shiv Kishan Agarwal. After being successful in the country, the company also exports its products abroad.

3. Indian Café House – Indian Café House is a chain of south Indian restaurants which serves authentic and traditional south Indian dishes. The ICH is spread all over India and is identified with a unique architecture.

4. Café Coffee Day – popularly known as CCD is known for its variety of blends of coffees. The CCD is mostly accommodates youngsters, where they get to binge on bakery stuff and confectioneries.

5. Haveli – Haveli is a pure vegetarian restaurant chain mostly found on the highways of the Indian roads. The place gives you the feeling of an Indian 'Dhaba' with some amazing strong Indian flavors on the menu.

Anna University Trichy MBA results announced

The results of the Master of Business Administration (MBA) trisemester examination have been declared by the Anna University of Technology (AUT), Tiruchirappalli, Tamil Nadu. The results have been published at the official website of the university at http://www.tau.edu.in/.

The MBA examinations were held in the month of November and December 2010. The Anna University of Technology is located in Tiruchirappalli in the state of Tamil Nadu, India and was established in the year 2007.

The AUT is one of the six parts of the Anna University. The university provides graduate, postgraduate as well as diploma courses and is also recognized by the UGC. Initially the university was known as School of Engineering of the Bharatidasan University.

In the year 2007, the university was converted in to an affiliating university and has roped in almost all engineering colleges in the state of Tamil Nadu. The campus of the university is spread in over 300 acres of land.

SMU January 2011 results announced

The results of the January 2011 exams have been declared by the Sikkim Manipal University Directorate of Distance Education (SMUDE), Karnataka. Candidates can access their respective results easily from the official website of the university at http://www.smude.edu.in/.

The results can also be accessed from the results link at http://results.smude.edu.in/ . To access the results, the candidate has to enter the registration number in the box at the results page and have to click on the 'submit' button.

For further information, the candidates can visit the official website. The Sikkim Manipal University, Bangalore is located in the city of Bengaluru in the state of Karnataka, India. It is the first government-private initiative in the region and was established in the year 1995.

The SMU Bangalore offers undergraduate as well as postgraduate courses. The university offers 10 specialization options in MBA and also offers PG Diploma courses in business administration. SMU also offers courses in Medical Laboratory Technology and Clinical Research.

Varun Gandhi got married to Yamini Roy Chaudhury in Varanasi on Sunday, March 6th. Varun is the grandson of  Former Indian Prime Minister Indira Gandhi and son of Maneka Gandhi. Click to watch the photo gallery.

Yamini Chaudhury is a graphic designer based in Kolkatta. The haldi rasm was performed on Saturday morning at a simple function, Varun Gandhi was wearing a cream-coloured Kurta Payjama while the bride Yamini wore a light pink saree.

The temple premises was surrounding with high security personnel and the entire area was decorated for the high-profile marriage ceremony. Only close family members and the priests who perform the wedding rituals were present at the venue during the muhurat from 7 am to 8 am on Sunday morning.

India examiner writes : “The temple premises in the holy city of Varanasi which wore a bridal look had heavy security in place with district police and  security officers standing at its every nook and corner.”

“Tonnes of flowers which were brought from all the places including neighbouring states of West Bengal and Gujarat filled the city atmosephere with its fragrance.”

We wish Varun Gandhi and Yamini a very happy married life.

IRCTC recruitments 2011 for Food Factory announced

Applications are invited for the upcoming Food Factory in Noida, India, by the Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation Limited (IRCTC) on contractual basis. The IRCTC has invited applications for vacant posts of one Executive Chef, three Chef de Parte and one assistant manager.

Interested candidates are requested to apply by 31st March. Applicants must address the applications to – The Deputy General Manager (HRD), IRCTC Corporate Office, 5th floor, STC building, 1 Tolstoy Marg, New Delhi – 11000.
