Top five ways to observe Earth Hour 2011 Posted: 26 Mar 2011 01:10 AM PDT It is Earth Hour 2011 today, and it is time all of us to realize the depleting situation of the earth. It is essential that each and every individual makes efforts to conserve energy in some or other way. This year, apart from saving just electricity, make sure that you also conserve other energy resources. Here are the top five ways, one can conserve energy and also some of the important depleting energy sources. 1. Switch off lights – Apart from switching off the lights for just an hour, make sure you also switch off the unnecessary lights, which are not in use. Instead of using tube lights, power saving lights like CFLs can be used to save energy. 2. Water harvest – It is not so difficult to save rain water. Rain water is the most natural resource of water. Instead of depending on the well water for the household chores, harvested water can be used. 3. Save fuel – Fuel used in most of the vehicles is also one of the energies, which is depleting day by day. Instead of using vehicles for going to a place, which is at a walking distance, one can go by walk or even by a bicycle. 4. Plant more trees – Trees are the best friends of the environment and help in keeping the atmosphere pollution free. Planting more trees can only contribute towards the betterment of the environment. 5. Preparation of compost – Instead of throwing the garbage and polluting the atmosphere, one can dig a pit and collect all the garbage in it and after its gets filled up, a good manure can be obtained for the plants in the garden. |

Any great movie without the sound and visual effects will definitely lose its impact.
