Indian judge outsources verdicts

One must have heard about manufacturing products through an out source. But out sourcing verdicts by a judge is something one can hardly imagine and bizarre.

A similar case was observed in Jharkhand in India, where a judge was expelled for outsourcing the writing of the judgments that came his way. Ajit Kumar, a subordinate judge in Garhwa was ordered to be expelled by the Supreme Court.

Kumar had filed an appeal in the apex court that he was dismissed from his post, without any compulsory inquiry in to the matter. The judges who were hearing the case, Justices Anil Dave and Mukundakam Sharma, had stated that there wasn't any requirement to hold any inquiry before ordering the dismissal of the judge.

The bench hearing the case had found that Kumar's judgment was unique. The chief justice of the High Court had said, "Kumar did not prepare the judgment on his own. He got them prepared from someone else before he delivered the judgment of the case." The matter was then referred to the full court looking at the intensity of the matter. Later, the full court had held that Kumar's case did not need any inquiry and that the judgment to expel him from his service was fair enough.
