Harold Camping predicts end of world on 21st May?

Posted: 20 May 2011 01:49 AM PDT

Family Radio leader Harold Camping has predicted that the world will come to an end on 21st May 2011. Camping has said that the prediction was made on the basis of certain facts mentioned in the Bible.

According to Camping's calculations, the year 2011 completes 7,000 years after the floods, which took place in 4990 BC. Its is believed that the flood had begun on the 17th day of the 2nd month and May 21st will mark the 17th day of the 2nd month, according to the Biblical calendar.

However, this not the first judgment day prediction made by Camping. Earlier, the evangelist had said that the world would end on 21st May 1994. But now Camping said that the earlier prediction was a miscalculation.

Camping has said that a global earthquake will mark the end of the world. On the other hand Pastor Doug Suvino from Valley Chapel Assembly of God in Clifton, the information given by Camping is inaccurate. Suvino has said that the facts that are given are no way connected to the Bible.
