Imran Khan’s connection with the first Friday of July

Posted: 28 Jun 2011 10:31 PM PDT

Bollywood's 'chocolate boy' Imran Khan must be anxious since his upcoming movie Delhi Belly is all set to hit the theatres this Friday. But need he be worried? We don't think so! If the past records are to go by, Delhi Belly will be a success!

So far in his short-yet-popular career, Imran Khan has given some duds at the box office, namely Kidnap, Luck and Break Ke Baad. But what led to the failure of these movies? Was it the script, the direction, or was it the acting? If you happen to be superstitious, the answer is none of them! Actually it was the release date that caused their failures! Confused? Let us explain.

So far, Imran Khan has given two blockbusters in the form of Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na and I Hate Luv Storys. While Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na was a Rs 11 crore budgeted movie and made around 56 crore rupees, I Hate Luv Storys had a budget of 17 crore and made around 59 crore! Interestingly, both the movies released on the first Friday of July! Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na released on July 4, 2008 and I Hate Luv Storys hit the theatres on July 2, 2010!

‘Harry Potter’ Rupert Grint says kissing Emma Watson was unnatural

Posted: 28 Jun 2011 10:11 PM PDT

It sounds strange when an on-screen couple shares a brother-and-sister-like relationship off-screen! Well, that's the case between Rupert Grint and Emma Watson who play Ron and Hermione in the Harry Potter series!

Rupert, while sharing his experience about kissing Emma Watson, was quoted by contactmusic.com as saying: "It seemed like the most unnatural thing to do, to kiss this person I'd known since she was nine. It took a while to get into it and put our friendship aside. It's quite full-on, a proper snog. We're soaking wet as well - they dumped gallons of water on us and then we just went for it. We laughed a lot and it took us a while to concentrate. We did it about four times."

He further revealed that it was an awkward situation for both of them. He said: "It's a nice moment for the characters but she's like a sister to me. We're all really close friends, so it was very strange doing that."

My item song is a warning to Katrina Kaif: Aamir Khan

Move over, Katrinas and Deepikas. The new item boy Aamir Khan has taken the industry by storm.

Aamir Khan has clearly won everyone's heart with his debut item song "I hate you like I love you" in his upcoming production Delhi Belly. The item has Aamir playing a garish tribute to the superstars of the disco era - Mithun Chakraborty, Govinda, Rishi Kapoor, Anil Kapoor and even Amitabh Bachchan. Well, too much inspiration...don't you think!

That's perhaps the reason why the item song has gone down very well with the fans who are particularly delighted by Aamir's new retro makeover.

"As far as the item dance done by me is concerned, it is a warning to Katrina Kaif, Deepika Padukone that the era of item girls is over... now it's time for item boys," Aamir said on Saturday. He was promoting the show 'Ke Hobe Banglar Kotipoti', the Bengali version of 'Kaun Banega Crorepati' on Mahuaa Bangla.

Bipasha Basu and Amisha Patel caught in the same dress at IIFA

Shocking but true! Bollywood bombshells Bipasha Basu and Amisha Patel donned the same outfits at the green carpet of the IIFA awards 2011!

Bipasha and Amisha, both were wearing a Ramona Narang dress; thankfully at least the colour of their outfits was different! While Bips' dress was beige coloured, Amisha was wearing the same dress in yellow colour!

Bipasha was smart enough to realise the fact that the media might take potshots at her, so she herself decided to laugh on the incident and posted on a social networking website: "Also last night a fellow actress landed up wearing the same dress in a diff color as me on d green carpet! It ws quite amusing even for me:)"

However, Bips also wrote that she would take care of the fact that such an incident does not happen again in future and wrote: "So next time I'll plan my green carpet outfit in advance n nt pull out things frm my cupboard last min.

Salman Khan not hosting Bigg Boss 5

Posted: 28 Jun 2011 06:20 PM PDT

The demand for Salman Khan has never been so high. Following the back-to-back successes of Dabangg and Ready which are among the all-time blockbusters in Bollywood history, producers have been queuing up to sign Salman, but he's so hard-pressed for time that he has to turn down a lot of offers.

The latest, we hear, is that Salman Khan has expressed his inability to host the fifth season of the telly show 'Bigg Boss' because he's too much wound up in film commitments. Salman was the host of Bigg Boss 4 last year and his presence helped the show score good telly ratings.

But a slew of Bollywood projects in Salman's kitty make it almost impossible for him to squeeze out time for 'Bigg Boss 5'. Here's a quick lowdown: Salman is busy with films like Bodyguard with Kareena Kapoor and Ek Tha Tiger with Katrina Kaif. After that he will commit to good friend Sajid Nadiadwala's film Kick, brother Sohail Khan's Sher Khan and, of course, Dabangg 2.

Aishwarya Rai out of 'Heroine Priyanka Chopra replacing her ?

Madhur Bhandarkar's ambitious project Heroine is in the news again! A lot has been talked about whether Aishwarya Rai's pregnancy would affect the shooting of the film or not. But now the final word is out that since the movie would require Ash to dance, smoke and run, UTV Productions have decided that they cannot complete the project as Aishwarya, being in pregnancy stage, should not risk her health.

UTV movies released a press release stating: "We would like to put an end to the speculative and factually incorrect stories that are doing the rounds on Heroine, and to clarify the position on the film once and for all. At this point nothing is more important than Aishwarya's well being and good health. In that context, we have all mutually agreed that the best step would be to avoid shooting further, rather than proceeding with an incredibly demanding schedule over the coming months. Even as we will truly miss this opportunity to work with Aishwarya, the entire unit wishes her the very best for the exciting time ahead, as she and Abhishek move into this special new phase in their lives."

Since it has been announced that Ash is not a part of the film anymore, buzz suggested that the film might be shelved and Madhur could consider shooting the movie with some other actress. Rumours stated that Priyanka Chopra had shown keen interest in replacing Aish and even sms'ed Madhur to cast her!

However, Priyanka Chopra dismissed all rumours and wrote on a social networking website: "read some stupid article about how i wanna do @mbhandarkar268 s (Madhur Bhandarkar) film HEROINE..i think madhur is an amazing director and it'll be amazing to work together again but GUYS this one aint it!!! I wish him and Aishwarya lots of luck with the film."

He's back and he's angry. Call him Tiger or Don or Mard or Toofan or The Great Gambler or Shahenshah or even Laawaris. But don't anyone dare call him a Bbuddah. Yes, Amitabh Bachchan, the angry young man of the 70s and 80s, returns to his fold in his home production Bbuddah - Hoga Terra Baap.

He doesn't follow fashion; he creates his own style. And don't be misled by his salt-n-pepper hair. This angry old...oops...young man, pulls no punches, spares no kicks and is quick on the trigger. He's a hitman and he's out to bump a couple of fellas. So run or hide, but be quick to decide....this bbuddah is everyone's baap.

Amitabh Bachchan, the original action hero, the seething angry man of yore who with his unforgettable baritone immortalized the dialogues such as "Main aaj bhi pheke huye paise nahin uthata" is back at doing what's he's best at. In Bbuddah Hoga Terra Baap, the 68-year-old star is ready to give Bollywood's young guns a run for their money.
