The Anna University in the state of Tamil Nadu will soon be announcing the results of the TANCET (Tamil Nadu Common Entrance Test) for the year 2011. The University will be declaring the results on 22nd June 2011.

The examinations of the TANCET are conducted by the Anna University on behalf of the Government of Tamil Nadu. The TANCET is conducted every year to offer the candidates admissions in to the courses of MCA, MBA, MTech and ME across the state of Tamil Nadu.

The Anna University is a technical university in the state of Tamil Nadu in India. The University was established in the year 1978. Initially, the University was known as the Perarignar Anna University of Technology. Later in the year 1982, the University adopted its current name Anna University.

The Tamil Nadu Engineering Admissions random numbers for the purpose of counseling for the year 2011, will be declared by Anna University in Chennai on 20th June 2011. The TNEA 2011 counseling for the admissions in to the engineering courses will be conducted by the University.

More than 1.70 lakh students have applied for the TNEA 2011 counseling. The University has sold more than 1,64,245 spot registration forms, which includes postal registration through 62 Anna University TNEA Centres across the state of Tamil Nadu. The students can enquire for their random number here.

The counseling is conducted by the University for the Admissions in to the First year B.E/B.Tech degree courses in the colleges that are affiliated by the Anna University in the state of Tamil Nadu. In the year 2010, only 1.11 lakh seats were filled, while 8,172 seats had gone vacant.

The Anna University was formed in the year 1978, with four technical institutions in the city of Chennai. Earlier the University was named as Perarignar Anna University of Technology. In the year 1982 the name Anna University was adopted.
