Indian Auto manufacturing giant, Maruti Suzuki is now developing a new 800cc car for its small car segment. The company had earlier said that they are planning to launch a new version of the 800cc, which was once the best selling car in the small car segment.

But now the company has made it clear that they are now developing a completely new car that will be developed by the efficient engineers of Maruti Suzuki. The sales of the oldest Maruti 800 model had taken a back seat after it was discontinued in 13 of the major cities.

The Maruti 800 was discontinued after the new BS-IV emission norms were implemented by the government of India. Then it was expected that the company would upgrade the car with the new emission norms.

But then the company had phased out the car. The managing executive officer of the company Rao had said that it will be a whole new car which will be based on an existing platform. Maruti took the decision to compete with the new 800c car that will also soon be launched by Hyundai.
