I Hate Luv Storys movie music gets you from the word go! It's hard not to tap your feet, dance or sing along when you listen to it. Vishal Dadlani's vocals are superbly energetic. This one is addictive (I heard it continuously for an hour) and the next big club song. Kumaar's lyrics are contemporary and identifiable (from a guy's point of view). Next up is the uber-cool Jab Mila Tu, some might call it a hip version of Tum Mile. This one is helmed by Vishal again, proving his versatility. It's an extremely hummable and breezy track that captures (thanks to lyricist Anvita Dutt of Khuda Jaane fame) the feelings of how some people's presence, love and friendship jazzes up your life and you fall for them. Bahara song is a very 90s' love song helmed by Shreya Ghoshal's saccharine and melodious vocals and supported by Sona Mahapatra, adding a desi touch to the song. This one is for love-struck girls but it grows on you and sounds like something Pritam would compose. The 'Chill' version featuring Rahat Fateh Ali Khan's soothing vocals is equally good. Sadka kiya song is very pleasant and romantic, about the guy realizing that he is in love. The song has Sufi-rock elements and brings together Suraj Jaggan and Mahalaxmi Iyer, a wonderful combination. Sweet, though it might take a while to grow on you.     Bin Tere song has two more versions: Reprise and Remix. The line: Koi khallish hai hawaon mein bin tere, will get stuck in your head. It's reminiscent of a Shankar-Ehsaan Loy composition such as Aaj Kal Zindagi from Wake Up Sid! And Kaisi Hai Ye Ruth from Dil Chahta Hai. Shafqat Amanat Ali's smooth and soothing vocals add a magical touch to it and he is complemented by Sunidhi Chauhan. The Reprise version is pulled off expertly by Shekhar Ravjiani and the remix is quite nice too (it is not an insult to the song). You'll want to listen to them more than once. Ahmedabad News: One person killed in Ahmedabad riots A 52-year-old manm injured during clashes between two communities in Shahpur died today, while three others were wounded in fresh violence in the area, police said. The deceased Vijay Datania had sustained injuries in the head during stone pelting by two groups in Nagoriwad lane of Shahpur area yesterday, they said, adding, a few others were also injured during the clashes. Meanwhile, in the clashes which broke out today, a man was injured after being attacked by a mob near RC Technical School, police said, adding that he was rescued by the police patrol in the area and taken to hospital. In an other incident, two men were allegedly stabbed with a sharp weapon near Mirzapur rural court in the area, they said. “There were some sporadic incidents of violence in Shahpur today. Some people were injured and have been taken to hospital,” assistant commissioner of police (ACP) NN Gohil said. Gohil also confirmed the stabbing incident where two persons were injured. “The mobs of the two groups were dispersed by the police and the situation was brought under control,” he said. According to police, a company of State Reserve Police (SRP) has been deployed in the area and night patrolling has also been increased. Situation has been tense in Shahpur since Monday when the first incident of violence occurred. Yesterday, members of two groups pelted stones and also torched some vehicles in Shahpur, which falls in the communally sensitive old city area. Meanwhile, Shahpur MLA Gyasuddin Sheikh appealed the people not to believe in rumours and restrain themselves from indulging in violence. riots in ahmedabad News:Ahmedabad tense after communal riots The Shahpur area stayed on the boil on Tuesday as violence that flared up late on Monday night resumed on Tuesday afternoon, forcing police to fire in the air to scare away violent mobs. According to Shahpur police station officials, they had to fire five rounds in the air and use teargas shells on Tuesday to disperse a mob that burnt a jeep and three shops. On Monday, the police had to fire seven rounds in the air and use 113 teargas shells to control the rioting mob. Reports said one person was shot at and two were injured in an acid attack. The authorities have posted over 300 policemen in the riot-hit areas. According to officials, trouble started late on Monday night when a marriage procession was passing by a mosque. Warring groups resorted to heavy stone-pelting. Many persons were injured and shifted to government hospitals. Officials were unable to give an exact figure, but locals said at least 10 persons were injured. “Around 12.45 pm on Tuesday, stone-pelting started around Nagorivaad, Delhi Darwaja, Burkha Chowky and Panjrapol areas of Shahpur. We were able to control the situation in two hours, but by then many properties had been damaged. We have intensified patrolling in the area,” said N N Gohil, assistant commissioner of police. According to news sources, Tuesday’s violence was worse as police officials found acid bottles lying on the street. All 30 students of Super 30, a free coaching centre in Bihar, have cracked the highly competitive exam of IIT-JEE – Indian Institute of Technology-Joint Entrance Examination for the third consecutive year, the institute declared on Wednesday. Anand Kumar, the institute’s director-cum-founder, said “We are really upbeat and celebrating the 100 percent success for the third consecutive year as all 30 students have cracked the IIT-JEE this year.” IIT Coaching class Super 30 that helps the economically backward students crack the IIT-JEE has been selected by The Time Magazine in the list of The Best of Asia 2010. The magazine, in its latest issue, said that every year, about 230,000 students take the exam for a seat in the IITs but only 5,000 grab it. “Last year, 30 of them came from one coaching centre in Patna, capital of the impoverished north Indian state of Bihar. That may not seem like many, but for the Super 30 centre it’s a pass rate of 100 percent,” it said. Mohammad Sadab Azam, a student of Super 30, said: “Thanks to Super 30, I cracked the IIT-JEE. Everyone is in a celebratory mood. We are happy.” Azam, whose father works as a labourer in a village in Gaya district, said that he had never dreamt of cracking the prestigious exam. “It was all because of Super 30,” he said. Anup Kumar, another Super 30 student, said the facilities and encouragement from the faculty made it possible for him to crack the tough exam. The super 30 institute selects talented students from poor families and provides them with free coaching, food and accommodation. According to Anand, “Hard work, proper guidance and supervision are the secrets of our success. “We were sure that the results would be positive as we teach them to eat, sleep, walk and talk only IIT,” he said. In 2003, the first year of the institute, 18 students made it to the IITs. The number rose to 22 in 2004 and to 26 in 2005. In 2007 and 2006, 28 students made it through ITT-JEE. In 2008, for the first time 30 students cracked the IIT-JEE followed by 2009. Anand said the institute is supported by the income generated from his Ramanujam School of Mathematics, which has students who can afford to pay fees. The Super 30 institute was started by Anand along with Bihar’s Additional Director General of Police Abhyanand. But two years ago Abhyanand dissociated himself from the institute. “Super 30 institute is an amazing initiative and it needs to be taken to maximum people around the globe,” said Christopher Mitchell, whose film for Discovery also bagged the Audience Choice Award at the sixth Indian Film Festival of Los Angeles. Three years ago, Norika Fujiwara, a former Japanese beauty queen and actress, made a documentary film on Super 30 for its innovative and successful attempt to send poor children to India’s top engineering colleges.
