Lara Dutta is in the news again but for entirely different reasons this time. She made the headlines for setting the screens on fire with her scantily bikini-clad sequences in Sajid Khan's "Housefull" but this time love is in the air for this sizzling beauty. Lara Dutta got engaged in New York to the Indian tennis ace Mahesh Bhupati after a long relationship that was kept under covers.

Keeping with the modern trend, Lara Dutta and Mahesh Bhupati came clean about their engagement on the social networking site, Twitter. Mahesh posted on Twitter, "so Lara and I got engaged last week in New York".

Lara Dutta also verified the fact that she is about to exchange marriage vows with the divorced Indian tennis player. Lara Dutta and Mahesh Bhupati made many public appearances together including the recent IIFA in the Sri Lankan capital, Colombo. But they always kept the paparazzi guessing about their relationship.

This is the first time that they have commented on their relationship status by posting about their engagement on Twitter. Lara Dutta had a live-in relationship with Kelly Dorje that went for more than some seven years but they parted their ways bitterly.

Kelly even named Dino Morea, who was their common friend, as the reason behind their estrangement by expressing his act as "back-stabbing". Then, Lara seemed to be in a relationship with Dino but after the touchy and revealing interview of Kelly Dorje for Stardust, Lara parted ways with him. It was then Mahesh entered in the scene.

Mahesh Bhupati, on the other side, seemed to be in a happy marriage with Shweta Jaishankar for over seven years, which ended in a divorce to be engaged with Lara. Shweta Jaishankar has socially laid the blame on Lara for being the reason for their marriage being on rocks and still holds a grudge against the Bollwood beauty.

Lara Dutta's Bollywood career is on an all-time high after the blockbuster Housefull", which saw her opposite Ritesh Deshmukh.

The movie gave Lara Dutta the much-needed fame and she has also landed an integral part in the Farhan Akhtar movie "Don 2".

"Agneepath", the masterpiece of Yash Johar, made under the direction of Mukul Anand in 1990 with superstar Amitabh Bachchan in the lead is considered a benchmark in the history of Indian cinema.

"It wasn't a Box Office hit, but not a day goes by when this film is not spoken about in superlatives," said Karan Johar who will be very soon coming with a new version of this classic with the handsome hunk Hrithik Roshan in the lead.

Karan Johar hopes to live the dream of his father by remaking this movie. The Amitabh Bachchan starrer undoubtedly showcased one of his many cult performances which was nationally adorned by a National Award. "Agneepath" is a classic underworld movie that is still often referred to by many filmmakers.

Vijay Dinanath Chauhan, the character portrayed by Big B was a bigger rage than the star himself at that time. Yash Johar could never understand the lukewarm response that the movie received on the Box Office. He constantly told KJo, "Karan, we must remake "Agneepath".

But Karan Johar was unable to see himself in the shoes of his father and directing the remake. It was only when his assistant Karan Malhotra, who was the persistent moral force behind KJo during the making of "My Name Is Khan", wanted to revert to the subject and reinvent the captivating movie that he could agree to dwell on the movie.

The movie is to be made under the banner of Dharma Productions and is expected to come with an entire new look for the remake. For starters, Hrithik Roshan will play the lead but Krishan Iyer MA, the character of a coconut vendor played by Mithun Chakraborty will be missing. They are trying to rope in a fine actor of Bollywood that will be introduced in the first part of the movie. "Agneepath" is all set to roll early next year.

There are rumors of Priyanka Chopra bagging the role of the leading lady and Nana Patekar to portray Kancha-cheena played earlier by Danny Denzongpa. But Karan is not yet ready to reveal other members of the star cast. "At this point, we have Hrithik on board for Amit uncle's role. I will announce the other names shortly," he said, "Duggu has heard the script and he loved it. He is as thrilled about this film as Karan (Malhotra) and I are."
