Hard Questions (3) – Wisdom from the Good Book

Posted: 19 Sep 2010 10:23 AM PDT

I wrote yesterday that God asks tough questions.

Here's another tough one – Have you eaten from the tree of which I commanded you not to eat?

There's a well-known, I guess to people who know it, diet axiom that – even though people don't see you eat something it still counts when you are adding up calories.good.book.jpg

You might be able to eat something secretly but it will show up publicly later.

Wrongdoing done privately, quietly, on the sly, secretly – take your pick – too often have a way of being found out at the most inopportune times.

It happens that way in life as well. Better to act in private the way you would in public. No?

Posted: 19 Sep 2010 06:22 AM PDT

PanAsianBiz celebrated its 2,000,000th page view a couple of days ago.

It took PAB 15 months to make it to 1,000,000 page views…just 6 months for the second million.

It's when I reach milestones like this that I want to say a special thanks to regular visitors and viewers of PAB.

Lots of people find their way by different means.

Over the last month – 76% have come via a search engine. A full-two thirds via Google.

Almost 18% have come through another referring site.

Some 6% come directly.

Last month, PAB hit 780 RSS readers, also a high.

Thank you. A big thanks.

What good would it do me to grind out posts, ask questions, point out the goings on in the PanAsianBiz region if nobody cared to take a look?

Onward to 3 million.

New World Record Set for Climbing a skyscraper on a Bicycle

Posted: 18 Sep 2010 10:19 PM PDT

Some Chinese dude set a new world record for climbing a skyscraper on a bicycle.

Where do people get the idea to do this kind of thing?

The twenty-three year old (okay, I have a 23-year old and he can think some pretty strange things…maybe I can understand a little now) rode his bike up the 340 meter Jinmao Tower in Shanghai …88 storeys…in one hour, 41 minutes and 50 secs.

The previous record…well…nobody had ever tried the feat before, so anythingskyscraper-climbing.jpg would be a record.

Still, he climbed 1,958 stairs.

I once fell off of my bicycle going down a couple of stairs. I wonder if that's a world record for the fastest dismount from a bike while being stupid.

I wonder what tower this fellow will tackle next. Spiderman would be jealous.

What do you think?

Women Receive Gifts to Shop in their underwear

Posted: 18 Sep 2010 06:18 PM PDT

A department store in Ningbo, east China's Zhejiang Province presented women with gifts worth 1,788 yuan ($230) if they would volunteer to shop in their underwear.

No kidding. If they took it off, not all of it, and tried out the bed linens in their skivvies, undies, panties and bras…the department store rewarded them with presents.

10 women volunteered and countless others no one wanted to see in underwear were turned away.

From the looks of these two volunteers, I wonder…do women really wear bras and panties like this under their clothes?

Seriously?

They look like bikini swim wear to me.

What do you think?

Would you go shopping in your underwear for $230 worth of gifts?
