2009 Scheels Fargo Marathon Race Results

There are a dozen or so marathons coming up this weekend. None are particularly big in size, but most will be big for the folk who have trained for this day to pour out their hearts on the course and leave themselves there showing those around them what they are made of …or not made of as the case may be.

I remember running a half marathon in Japan. I was doing my best, or so I thought I was, when a pretty young Japanese girl started to past me. Can’t have that. So, I dug down and tried harder. Funny how that happens. Funnier yet, she dug down, too. Can’t lose to the gaijin. Foreigner versus pretty. Guess who won..

Two BIG marathons have already been run this year – the Boston and London Marathons. Some 50,000+ folk covered 26.2 miles.

Two big marathons are coming up – City of Los Angeles Marathon (L.A. Marathon) and Rock ‘n’ Roll Marathon. That’s pretty much everybody in Southern California. Not really.

Too often we think we are giving our best until someone that is meaningful to us challenges us and we find that deep down inside there is more yet. How is that? And isn’t that what Christian friends are for? To challenge us to do better even when we are giving our best? Yes, I think so. Who challenges you in your Christian walk, um, run?

If you didn’t run straight home from the  2009 Scheels Fargo Marathon you can likely see the results here.

Keep in mind, it takes a while for the results to update. Until they do, you can compare your time to last year’s results.

Shiney Ahuja’s maid says he never raped her

The 20 year old made of actor Shiney Ahuja said in the court that she has accused Shiney Ahuja of false charge of rape. The maid said that she did this to frame his Ahuja on the behest of a lady, who get her a job with the small time Bollywood actor.Bollywood actor, Shiney Ahuja will get some respite after the statement made by her domestic help in the fast track court.

On June 2009, Ahuja was accused of raping her maid, which the latter refused and said that the actor never raped her.

The actor was arrested on June 15 after medical report confirmed sexual assault on the maid. He has been charged under the Indian Penal Code (IPC) Section 376 with rape, along with wrongful restraint and intimidation.
He was behind the bars for three months and got the bail only on October 1, 2009.

After this twist and turn, the court has scheduled the next hearing on his case for September 15. However Shiney Ahuja still can be convicted based on the other evidence.

His power-packed game has often had Federer gasping for breath in the recent past and by all indications, Soderling continues to remains a threat to Federer's campaign.

Wayne Rooney involved in sex scandal

English football player, Wayne Rooney is said to have been involved in a sex scandal with a prostitute when his wife, Coleen McLoughlin was pregnant.
What seems to have got his wife, Coleen's goat is the fact
that Rooney was barely apologetic about theincident, and seemed to have
brushed it aside.
It has been reported that Rooney was involved in the scandal with Jennifer Thompson, and could now face a divorce proceeding from his
wife.

It is also said that given the scandal, the Manchester United management is now reconsidering the offering of the deal to the star striker. The deal was said to be worth 140,000 pounds/week and earlier, Sir Alex Fergusson, the Manchester United manager had confirmed the deal.

It has been reported that despite the scandal, Rooney will be a part of the English starting line-up for their game against Switzerland. Rooney had struggled in the 2010 World Cup due to apparent issues caused due to the possibility of the scandal breaking out.

But, then it seemingly ran out of ugly people who needed help and went on a slide.

What to do? What to do?

Besides a $500 Million restructuring, (I guess if you make enough money, you can do that )…Avon has also decided to put more emphasis on overseas sales – where it gets about 69% of its profits.

And what better country to aim at than China?

It had been more than 7 years since a company could conduct direct sales in the Middle Kingdom. But not anymore.

Avon has been given the green light to recruit and train a new red army of Avon ladies.

Gaayam 2 Movie review

Gaayam 2 Telugu movie has been released on Friday, September 3, 2010 in India.

Although being the sequel of the 1993 movie, Gaayam, Gaayam 2 fails to
create the same impact that the previous movie did. Gaayam 2 misses on
the good screenplay that Gaayam had then scored on. Just to link the
two movies, the director of the film Praveen Sri, borrowed some scenes
from the old one, but instead of forming a bridge, the movie gives the
feel of being lengthy.

Jagpathy
Babu, who starred in the old Gaayam also stars in its supposed sequel
too. But this time fails to give justice to his role. The others
starring in the film are Vimal Raman, Tanikella Bharani, Kota Prasad,
Kota Srinivasa Rao Jeeva and Harsha Vardhan.

Praveen
Sri seems to have put loads of efforts in making the film but somehow,
the efforts did not touch the hearts. The music of the film is composed
by Illayaraja.

Gaayam 2 is an average movie. It is difficult to categorize this movie say critics.

Akai Mobile Phones Enters Indian Market – Launches 10 Brand New Handsets

Akai makes an entry in the Indian mobile market by launching 10 brand new handsets. The launch was announced today, September 8, 2010. The handsets would range from Rs 1,800 to Rs 8,000.

Akai India's Managing Director, Pranay Dhabhai said, "We have introduced a range of phones that will cater to the requirements of all segments of consumers across categories. We hope to become a prominent player in the Rs. 700 billion mobile handset market in the coming years."

The basic phones will have dual SIM, long lasting battery and high resolution QVGA screen, whereas, the high end phones will have 3-D user interface, wi-fi, wireless FM, e-book compatibility, etc.

He further added, “We plan to launch 3G and Android handsets for Indian market around January and the Android handset will cost around Rs 10,000. We are expecting an overall turnover of Rs 435 crore by July 2011 and mobile sales are expected to contribute around 40 per cent of the total revenues, with targeted monthly sales of one lakh handsets from next month.”
