Fashion Trendsetters at 2007 China Fashion Awards – Noriko Sakai

Japanese actress, Noriko Sakai was a winner at the 2007 China Fashion Awards held in Shanghai on Dec. 9th.

She is one of the good looking people, by some's taste, that all the rest of us (me included) don't have a chance of looking like.

But, some do have fun wishing, and just looking.

New Seven Wonders? New Silk Road? And then?

Posted: 04 Oct 2010 04:16 AM PDT

There are a new seven wonders to the world.

Why not have a new Silk Road? or at least, why not extend it to reach to South Korea and Japan?

That's the desire the two countries expressed at the 2007 International Symposium on Regional Economic Cooperation.

The reason – to change history. Nope.

The huge potential in promoting the economic growth along the region.

The new Silk Road is called the Eurasian Continental Bridge. It stretches 10,900 km (7,000 miles) and links eastern China''s ports of Lianyungang and Rizhao with Amsterdam of Holland and Antwerp of Belgium.

A new presidential hopeful in Korea has

promised to build a train-ferry to connect ROK to the Chinese ports of Yantai, Qingdao and Rizhao. (Marco Polo is wishing he had her for prez a few hundred years ago.)

Profs in Japan are hoping the road can be extended even further….to the land of the Rising Sun.

If it happens, it won't likely be in my lifetime.

But, then it took Marco dozens of years to make the trips, so who knows?

Bus Strike In Chennai Will Continue Until The Authorities Take Appropriate Action

Posted: 04 Oct 2010 01:39 AM PDT

Bus strike in Chennai has been called by the employees of the Metropolitan Transport Corporation (MTC). Not all the employees are involved in the strike though.

The recent bus strike in Chennai is the initiative of the drivers and conductors of eight depots after a tiff between a driver and the counselor that took place on Sunday evening. The strike put almost fifty per cent of the public transport vehicle on the hold causing inconvenience to the commuters depending on the service.

It is being said that the driver and the conductor of a bus were beaten up by a counselor's associate and the physical harm is something that made them to call for the strike.

The Union spokesperson Rajendran said that if the authorities fail to take quick action, there is a possibility that more employees might join the people on strike. The bus strike in Chennai will continue unless some fixture to the problem is found.

India Railways Website Online Ad Revenue Around Rs 10 Crore monthly

Posted: 04 Oct 2010 01:01 AM PDT

The Indian Railways website has done wonders after the whole process of booking online started. The page views of the India railways website that is indiarail.gov.in is around 10,000,00 per day. This helps the India railways in a huge way as they have quality advertisers wanting to advertise on the website.

The Indian Railways long before was tough on the consumer as one has to go to the railway station for ticket bookings as well as to inquire regarding train schedules and timings. Now, the internet boom has changed it all, it has worked out for both the consumer as well as the India railways. A consumer can now book a railway ticket online, this results into the Indian railway getting so many page views every month which results into an online ad revenue of around Rs. 10 Crore every month.

There are many different types of ad models on the India railways website from pop ups to text and image ads, all of these have a different rate of revenue, few will have $1 CPM and a few 0.10$ and could vary everyday.

After realizing the month page views of the India railways website, and taking an average of the page views it gets, India railways could be earning a lot more than what many believe. An average of $1 per thousand visits indicate that at this rate the India railways could be earning around Rs 10 Crore or maybe more monthly.

The Indian Railways is one of the largest network of railways in the whole world.
