Illegal Medical Instrument Ads Exposed

Posted: 15 Oct 2010 01:42 PM PDT

China's State Food and Drug Administration (SFDA) has exposed 20 illegal medical instruments ads that claim to treat:

1. shortsightedness

2. isomnia

3. snoring

4. prostate diseas

Even one of China's most famous medical instrument companies -  Beijing's Zhoulin Bio-Spectrum Technology Inc. – was on the blacklist.

The companies used unapproved ads, changed ads that had been approved but not broadcast yet, fabricated licenses, or

used expired licenses.

"Yo, doc. That knife you have there. The one you are going to cut me open with? Has it been approved?"

"Don't worry. ACME Medical Cutters is a well-known company. Even W.E. Coyote uses them. You are safe."

"That's good to kn….zzzzz"

Religion Mentioned in the Communist Party of China (CPC) Consitution for First Time

Posted: 15 Oct 2010 09:42 AM PDT

There is a first time for everything…

t\The Communist Party of China (CPC) has mentioned the R-word (religion) in an amendment to its Constitution for the first time in history.

The CPC is atheistic. Atheism is also a religion but that's another discussion.

The director of the State Administration of Religious Affairs says -

"The Party's secret in handling well China's religious issues lies in its principles and policies.

"Their insertion in the Party Constitution shows the Party is sincere, and capable, of its implementation of policies on the freedom of religious beliefs."

Religion causes problems in the world (it does), but "in China we enjoy peace and quiet because we have the established policies and principles."

That's right.

There are no problems in China..no corruption, no rioting, no injustice, no imbalance, no disparity among the urban and rural.

China has some 16 million Protestant Christians and has printed 42 million Bibles…one for every 30 people. In the U.S., it's more like 30 Bibles for every one person….and corruption, injustice, imbalances, and disparity exist here, too.

What do you think of religion?

Israeli, Japanese, Chinese and American makers will be challenged by KIST.

KIST developed the device in 2000 and sold it to medical venture firm IntroMedic.

The market is estimated to be $100 million this year and growing by more than 30% each year.

KIST's device sends data from the capsule to a receiving device that is worn by the patient. It has a longer battery life and a smaller size than its competitors.

The camera can take three frames per second at a resolution of 102, 400 pixels for 11 hours.

Japan's Olympus camera and optics company is the current market leader with a 70% share that is worth $1.34 billion.

Do you think Korea can challenge Japan in this area?

Aakrosh movie review, songs, trailer video, Torrent

Posted: 14 Oct 2010 11:43 PM PDT

Aakrosh Hindi movie starring Ajay Devgan as Pratap Kumar,Akshaye Khanna as Siddhant Chaturvedi and Bipasha Basu as Geeta is released on 15th OCT 2010

Directed by Priyadarshan and co-written by Bhatt and Akash Khurana, is a faithful remake of Alan Parker's Oscar-nominated drama Mississippi Burning.Watch the Trailer video

“In that film, two FBI agents go to the American South to investigate the disappearance of three civil rights activists. Here two CBI agents go to a village to investigate the disappearance of three medical students.”

NDTV REview The racial conflict of Mississippi Burning is converted to a caste conflict. The Ku Klux Klan becomes the Shool Sena, a hate group, which kills a lower-caste boy and his friends for daring to elope with an upper-caste girl. The two officers, one a Dalit and the other a Brahmin, one a stickler for protocol and the other a loose cannon, fight against the murderous upper-caste establishment.

Aakrosh stays on track as long as Priyadarshan stays faithful to Mississippi Burning. But trouble starts the minute the writers get original.

So Pratap, played by Ajay Devgn, must have a tedious love track with a strange, out-of-place love song. There is an item number and over-blown action sequences—one requires Pratap to stand on top of a speeding car and in another, he crosses train tracks by jumping underneath a moving train.

Even today, Mississippi Burning remains a powerfully riveting drama because it made racism and the plight of African-Americans horrifically palpable.

The villains were all seemingly good folk with a vicious streak, which made them even scarier. The menace was profound yet understated.

In Aakrosh, of course the bad guys are all obviously bad. Paresh Rawal plays a corrupt cop—in his first scene, he is discussing the virginal girl he wants that evening and giving instructions that there be no condoms.

The film's tone is loud and inconsistent. Priyadarshan wants to marry hard-hitting drama with thrills so one minute, we're marveling at the nicely crafted chase sequences, including one on bicycles, and the next we move into realistic mode with hangings and arson.
