Varanasi, India, a blast has taken place outside a temple in Shitla Ghat in Varanasi. Many people are injured in this blast and sources informing that few people died instantly.

One local regional news channel announced the death of a British citizen and 7 injured foreign nationals among many other injured.

A preliminary report informed that around 20 people were injured in the blast. Currently, local district hospital is providing necessary medical attention for the injured. It is also informed that few seriously injured were already taken to the Banaras Hindu University hospital for treatment.

Officials informed that the blast has taken place during Ganga Aarti. There were around another 15 people injured during this stampede happened due to the collapse railing at the ghat.

According to a local regional channel India Mujahidin claimed to be behind the blast and sent mails mentioning the same to famous new channels. Officials are still investigating the incident and initial reports revealed that a milk can was the reason for the blast.

Julian Assange of WikiLeaks arrested on rape charges

The editor in chief of WikiLeaks, Julian Assange, was arrested on charges of rape on Tuesday from Sweden. The arrest has added a new feather in the controversial release of hundreds of US Diplomatic cables by WikiLeaks.

According to the British Press Association, Assange is expected to appear in court on Tuesday. The Metropolitan Police Spokesman said that, Assange was arrested on a warrant of the European arrest warrant, after he came voluntarily to the London police station.

Assange is accused of molestation, rape and unlawful coercion, which have all been committed in August 2010. Last month an arrest warrant was received by the Metropolitan Police, which was noted by the association, but the warrant was invalid as it was not properly filed out.

Some sources say that, Assange will be released on bail of about £200,000. Sources also say that, Assange has denied all the charges on him.

Egypt’s shark attacks investigation experts arrive

After the deadly shark attacks reported in the Red Sea shore of Egypt, experts have started arriving at the Sharm-el-Sheikh resort on Tuesday to find the reasons of the four consecutive attacks on the shore. The general operations manager of the Red Sea Diving College, Jochen Van Lysebettens said that, the behavioral experts will form a team to advice on the best action to be taken post the attacks.

According to the Egypt's Interior Ministry, the resort will remain closed unless the shark which was responsible for the deadly attack is found. Van said that, the reason behind the attacks has to be found in order to stop such attacks in future.

The ministry of Tourism had selected the panel of the experts meant to investigate the matter. On Sunday, a 70 year old German woman was killed by a shark. Eye witnesses said that the water had turned red where the woman was attacked.

After the incident, all the water sport activities were stopped at the shore by the Chamber of Diving and Water Sports.

Chrome OS: a new definition for operating systems

The Chrome Operating System or the Chrome OS, is the new venture of Google. Google's new venture of sporting its own operating system is already spreading murmurs about its working.

Sources say that Google has 'dared' to bring out a brand new definition to operating systems. Chrome has claimed to change all the conventional ways of using a computer.

The reason why the Chrome OS is called a daring venture is that, when Chrome OS boots, the user will find just the Chrome browser. There will not be any applications pre installed, and no applications can be installed further.

Sources say that, all the applications on the Chrome OS will be the web applications, for instance, Youtube, Gmail, etc. On the availability of Chrome OS, it will be only available on hardware which is customized for Chrome OS. The Chrome OS is also said to be supported by the Solid State Drives, which are unlike the usual spinning drives. Moreover a different keyboard is also designed for the Chrome OS.

Neera Yadav former UP Chief Secretary convicted in Noida land scam

Former Uttar Pradesh Chief Secretary, Neera Yadav on Tuesday was convicted by the Central Bureau of Investigation court. Yadav was sentenced to four years of imprisonment with a fine of Rs. 50,000, after she was found guilty in connection with the Noida land scam.

Yadav was convicted under sections 120B and 131D of the Prevention of Corruption Act. The Court also held the Flex Group Chairman Ashok Chaturvedi, to whom Yadav had willfully allotted seven acres of land, guilty and had awarded him four years of imprisonment.

According to sources, the Supreme Court had ordered the CBI to register the case. After an order passed by the Supreme Court last October, Yadav was removed from the Chief Secretary post.

The Supreme Court came up with the removal orders, after a Public Interest Litigation was filed by the Centre, which had challenged her appointment, as she was accused of corruption charges in the land scam.

Stuart Broad, Simon Katich out of Ashes due to injury

The second Ashes Test match ended today at Adelaide with England winning the game easily. However, two of the players will be missing from the rest of the series.

Stuart Broad was ruled out of the rest of the series thanks to a stomach injury. Broad did not even take field on the fifth day of the second Test match and will now miss the Tests and the ODIs to follow. Broad’s place may be taken by Chris Tremlett.

It has been said that Broad will recover from his injury by the time the World Cup is around.

The bigger injury issue will be faced by Australia, who have lost Simon Katich to an Achilles Heel injury.

This will mean that Katich will not play any of the remaining three Test matches. He could be replaced by Phil Hughes.

French President Sarkozy demands short body guards for his visit to India

The French President, Nicolas Sarcozy has demanded for short security men to surround him during his visit to India. Sources say that, the president has made this demand to the Indian Foreign Ministry so that he may seem taller and that he escapes from being embarrassed due to his short stature.

Sources have also reported that how the president was trying his best to camouflage his height, during his meet with the leaders in New Delhi. A report said, "A strange request from the foreign ministry’s protocol office has left New Delhi’s police and security agencies with a problem."

Certain reports say that the French President had made the demand, after he claimed that he had once banned some workers from attending a factory visit who were above 5ft 6ins.

A year back during a visit to the Faurecia car parts factory in Normandy, the president was accused of selecting short statured people to appear along with him in a TV footage.

SNAP Admit Card 2010 Details

Symbiosis National Aptitude or SNAP test 2011 admits card is currently available from their website www.snaptest.org. Currently this site is experiencing huge traffic and tries several times in getting connected.

This Admit card live on: 07th December, 2010 to 19th December, 2010. The SNAP test is 19th December, 2010. The test results would be announced on 12th January, 2011, Wednesday.

This is mandatory to get the Admit Card printed from their website. The Admit card is made available from 7th December to 19th December. Interested individual should get the print out of the admit card. Bring a photo ID proof along with the Admit card to the test center.

Passport or driving license or college/institute ID card or credit card with photo identity or voter card is the acceptable ID proofs for this purpose. Symbiosis Authorized person will verify this ID proof at the written test venues.

SNAP written test is for the admission into the Symbiosis postgraduate institutes. Most of these institutes are affiliated to SIEC Deemed University or approved by AICTE. This SNAP test is conducted under the aegis of SIEC Deemed University.
