Reliance launches Sony Ericsson W8 Walkman smartphone in India

Sony Ericsson has mutually tied up with Reliance Communications inorder to launch its new smartphone named as “W8 Walkman” in India. The W8 Walkman is considered to be the first Android smartphone in the Sony Ericsson series of mobiles. The W8 comes with an approximate cost of Rs.9,995. The handset will be available in three colors such as red, orange and azure.

P.Balaji, Managing Director of Sony Ericsson India reveals that consumers are looking for an integrated entertainment experience from any gadget they purchase. Further he adds that Sony Ericsson’s W8 Walkman phone has been made for those who need to enjoy and share their favourite music, play games or just simply explore applications.

He finally concludes that their partnership with Reliance Communications would help them for providing content which is entertainment rich and give out the best music experience to customers with over 200k applications to explore on the Android market. One of the research informs that listening to music and radio on phone is one of the top entertainment options. The W8 smartphone will satisfy the consumers with the fun of Walkman along with Android utility.

The device sports a distinctive four corner user interface for personalization. To enhance the uniqueness of Sony Ericsson W8, it is fully packed with applications which includes FM moment, share moment, in-built-speakers and FM string. The mobile has a high quality 3.2 MP camera, excellent music player with battery life of up to 23 hours 40 minutes, social networking applications. Apart from others, it is incorporated with 3D games, geo tagging, album art etc. The Sony Ericsson W8 Walkman smartphone has been designed exclusively for music enthusiasts to offer a good music experience.
