| Earthquake Strikes Japan – 6.6 Magnitudes Posted: 14 Mar 2010 01:49 AM PST A strong earthquake hit off the eastern coast of central Japan on Sunday, rattling buildings across a broad swath of the country, including the crowded Tokyo capital. A very powerful quake of 6.6 magnitudes has hit central areas of Japan today, March 14, 2010 morning. The affected areas include capital Tokyo. No damages or injuries have been reported till now and also there is no alert about tsunami by weather department. As per the reports the earthquake was of magnitudes 6.6 that struck Sunday morning. Japan Meteorological Agency told that the earthquake struck around 08:10 GMT. That is around 5:10pm local time. The center of the quake was around 80km off of central Fukushima Prefecture and the effect was in the region of 40KM.
