Khap Panchayat urged to work for social welfare Posted: 13 Mar 2010 11:09 PM PST Chandigarh, March 13- A campaign has been launched to put an end to the unilateral and controversial decisions being taken by the Khap Panchayats in Haryana and they have been urged to instead work for the welfare of the society. The Rohtak District Administration has urged the representatives of Khap Panchayats to desist from pronouncing any such decision which adversely affects the rights of any particular community or section of the society or any individual. The Deputy Commissioner, Rohtak, Mr P.C. Meena and Superintendent of Police, Mr Anil Kumar Rao today visited the villages namely Bahu Akbarpur, Bhali and Pehrawar and interacted with the people who were associated with the Khap Panchayats. They cautioned that the district administration would not hesitate from taking legal action against those Panchayats which would take atrocious and anti-society decisions in future. They said that the Khap Panchayats should immediately stop taking unilateral decisions that were directly or indirectly affecting the society. They said that the Khap Panchayats and Gram Panchayats should unitedly work for eradication of social evils like female foeticide. They said that the Khap Panchayats should have creative thinking to make significant contribution in the development of the society. |
Teachers in Haryana are paid highest in country Posted: 13 Mar 2010 11:06 PM PST Chandigarh, March 13-Haryana Chief Minister, Mr Bhupinder Singh Hooda today said that State Government is giving highest salaries to the teachers in the country. However, if some pay anomaly is brought to the notice of the Government, the same would be rectified. Mr Hooda said this while addressing the Biennial National Conference of All India Primary Teachers Federation at Kurukshetra today. He said that the teachers of the state have contributed a lot in the state's progress in the field of education.Haryana was on way to become an Education Hub of the nation. While emphasizing the importance of giving highest respect to the teachers, the Chief Minister called upon the parents and teachers to impart the traditional high moral values and education so that they could take the nation towards more progress and prosperity. Education is the most important key for the all round development of any nation.While elaborating the various educational schemes and plans implemented during the present Congress government, Mr. Hooda said that the government understands the importance of quality education. He said Rajiv Gandhi Education City was being set up at Kundli in district Sonipat where world class quality education would be provided to the students under one roof. The government has made phenomenal increase in the state education budget as much as seven times, he added. He also explained different educational promotion schemes implemented in the state to stop the drop out. Congress Government of the state has come out with a unique scholarship scheme under which Rs.100 to Rs.450 per months were being given to the students of BPL families, he added. He said that parents and Teachers are two sacred relations for us which always care to promote without any selfish motives. In the present era of globalization, there was competition in all spheres of life. Only those state, nation and societies would progress which would lead in the field of education. Only teachers can bring a bright future for all, he added. Education Minister, Mrs. Geeta Bhukkal, Member of Parliament, Kurukshetra, Mr. Naveen Jindal, Rajya Sabha, MP, Mr. Ram Parkash also addressed the primary teachers from across the country. Congress MLA, Mr. Anil Dhantori, Former MP, Kailasho Saini, District Congress president, Mr Sahib Singh Saini, other senior congress leaders and officers of district administration were also present on this occasion. |
