2014 Winter Olympics: Three cities shortlisted by the IOC Executive Board

From 7th February to 23rd February, 2014. Winter Olympics, major International multi sport event will be held in Sochi, Krasnodar Krai in Russia.
The Winter Olympics of the 2010 was held on February 12 to February 2010 in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada.
To host the Winter Olympics, 2014, seven applicant cities were presented bids to the International Olympic Committee. Three cities i.e. Sochi, Russia: Pyeong Chang, South Korea: and Salzburg, Austria were shortlisted from the IOC Executive Board.

Recruitment in Tumkur University, 2010

Applications are invited from the Tumkur University for the recruitment of the both teaching and non-teaching staff. Teaching Staff includes subject teachers, physical education personnel and the librarian.

Application can be dowloaded from the website and shall be accompanied by the demand draft for Rs. 100, application fee plus Rs. 500 processing fee for the posts of Asst. Professors, Asst. Director of Physical Education and for the post of Asst. Librarian. For the SC and ST fifty percent processing fee.
Rs. 100 application fee plus Rs. 1000 processing fee for the posts of the Associate Professor, Professor, Deputy Librarian and for the University Librarian. For the SC and ST fifty percent processing fee.
Last date for filling in the applications on or before 17/03/2010.

Topper of CAT 2009

The topper of the CAT, Common Entrance Test 2009 is Varun Manganoori who scored 100 percentile in the results of the CAT which was announced on Sunday.
Varun Manganoori scored 66% with 299 marks out of 450, he is in the final year doing Engineering Design course at the IIT.
The website of the CAT, Common Entrance Test will also list the names of the candidates short listed for the interviews by IIM’s for PGP.

Storm in Western Europe

Forty five persons have been killed due to the storm, which have dashed parts of Portugal, France and Spain. Speed of the wind was 87mph and the wind was moving from Portugal up through the Biscay Bay caused destruction.
Due to the heavy rain and high winds the areas of Belgium and Germany have been put on the high alert. Charente Mritime and Vendee on the regions of the western coast of the France were drastically affected.
Today, Nicolas Sarkozy, President will made visit to the storm stricken area and stated that the measures for the flood prevention would be strenghthen.
Millions of the people in France have lost the electricity and several days will be taken to restore the electricity.
Officials have declared the devastation a National Disaster due to the storm.

Venezuela accused to kill the Colombian President

For conspiracy to commit Murder and Terrorism Act, allegations have been made against 6 members of Basque(ETA) and 7 Colombian Rebel Group (FARC) and Venezuela had been accused of collaborating with these groups to assassinate Colombias’s President.

Allegations of Twenty six pages indictment stating that Spanish investigation launched in the year 2008 was made by the Judge Eloy Velasco, demonstrated the collaboration of Venezuelaian Govenment with FARC & ETA.
Member of the FARC travelled Spain to kill the Andres Pastrana, former Colombian President with the help of ETA. FARC had been trying to establish a Marxist state since the year 1964.
Due to the investigations, tensions have been created between Spain and Venezuela.
