Today, Tupac has become a deity-like figure in his death. He's become the black Elvis Presley, as people have speculated that he faked his own death to become the world's greatest urban legend. His records have sold more after his departure than they did while he was alive. Tupac Amaru Shakur (June 16, 1971 – September 13, 1996), known by his stage names 2Pac (or simply Pac) and Makaveli, was an American rapper. Shakur has sold over 75 million albums worldwide, making him one of the best-selling music artists in the world. Rolling Stone Magazine named him the 86th Greatest Artist of All Time. In addition to his status as a top-selling rap artist, he was a promising actor and a social activist. Most of Shakur's songs are about growing up amid violence and hardship in ghettos, racism, problems in the society and conflicts with other rappers. His work is known by many for often advocating racial egalitarianism. Shakur was initially a roadie and backup dancer for the alternative hip hop group Digital Underground. But the truth of the matter is we'll never see another like Tupac Shakur. Maybe Biggie was on to something when he said you're nobody 'till somebody kills you. But then I look at how Tupac has given life to nearly every MC -- past, present and future -- whose plans are to pick-up a microphone, another quote pops into my head, one from a philosopher who was just as gifted with the pen as Biggie and Pac were in their prime. It took two men to carry some of the large suitcases, which were packed with bricks of pot, and three vehicles to carry all the luggage, authorities said.  A salsify, or goatsbeard, is a flowering plant in the genus Tragopogon. Tragopogon is in the family Asteraceae and has over 140 species, including the vegetable known as salsify, as well as a number of common wild flowers, some of which are usually regarded as weeds. You can purchase fresh salsify in many supermarkets and specialty stores during the winter months. You can also buy canned salsify year-round. However, canned salsify is not always an easy item to locate. When purchasing fresh salsify, you will find roots that are approximately 8-12 inches long and one inch in diameter. Select only those roots that are firm to the touch and that are well developed. Once purchased, you can safely store the fresh salsify in your home for up to one week as long as the roots are wrapped in plastic and placed in your refrigerator. When you are ready to use the salsify, cut-off its root ending then use a peeler to remove its outer skin and coating. To avoid discoloration of the root prior to its use, take the newly peeled salsify and drop it into a solution of water and lemon juice. Salsify is paler, slightly sweeter and silkier than the darker, crisper scorzonera with its dramatic, sooty skin, but you can use them interchangeably in recipes, including these. David Howell Petraeus (born November 7, 1952) is a United States Army general and the 10th and current Commander of the United States Central Command. Petraeus previously served as Commanding General of Multi-National Force - Iraq (MNF-I) from January 26, 2007 to September 16, 2008. As Commander of MNF-I, Petraeus oversaw all coalition forces in Iraq. Petraeus has a Bachelor of Science degree from the United States Military Academy from which he graduated in 1974 as a distinguished cadet (top 5% of his class) On Tuesday morning, White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs announced that the federal government would take over management of the claims process from BP if the company did not set up an independent entity to do so. Said Gibbs, "The best way to prevail upon BP is to take the claims process away from BP." The energy company's officials, including CEO Tony Hayward, will meet with the president at the White House on Wednesday to presumably put the icing on this arrangement -- which the president will no doubt make note of in his address tonight. Ocotillo is a census-designated place (CDP) in Imperial County, California, United States. Ocotillo is located 26 miles (42 km) west of El Centro, The population was 296 at the 2000 census. It is part of the El Centro, California Metropolitan Statistical Area. At lease 11 smaller quakes followed this and all were between 3.9 and 4.1 magnitude. After the earthquake many residents of Ocotillo, CA posted on social networking sites about the seism. They'll be unable to resist trying to tie Gore's affair to the climate change issue, which will undoubtedly lead to some really goofy pretzel logic. Should be fun. Gore and his wife, Tipper, announced a mutual and amicable spilt earlier this month. The announcement reportedly shocked many of their friends. They had just celebrated their 40th anniversary.
