Lionfish In The Caribbean Sea

The venom of the lionfish delivered via an array of up to 18 needle like dorsal fins is purely defensive.It relies on camouflage and lightning fast reflexes to capture prey mainly fish and shrimp.

A sting from a lionfish is extremely painful to humans and can cause nausea and breathing difficulties but is rarely fatal.

The lionfish is native to the Indian and Western Pacific Oceans.It came to the United States as a popular aquarium fish.Lionfish released into the wild have invaded coral reefs in the Caribbean Sea and Atlantic Ocean.

The venom is pretty potent and a lionfish sting constitutes a serious health emergency.Symptoms of envenomation include intense throbbing sharp pain tingling sensations sweatiness and blistering.

A Lionfish is any of several species of venomous marine fish in the genera Pterois Parapterois Brachypterois Ebosia or Dendrochirus of the family Scorpaenidae.The lionfish is also known as the Turkey Fish Scorpion or Fire Fish.They are notable for their extremely long and separated spines and have a generally striped appearance red green navy green brown orange yellow black maroon or white.

The dogfish numbers are massive due to it's prolific breeding behaviour being oviparous and laying young in egg cases.

Two eggs are laid every 5/6 days during the breeding season between November and July and after 5-11 months according to water temperature the young hatch at 10cm 3.5 inches long and able to feed straight away on dead or small prey items.Growing to 60-100 cm 2-3 feet long.

The dogfish use their back spines for defense curling around in a bow and striking which makes them hard to handle on the hook.

It is probable too that the spines are slightly poisonous general report to this effect being corroborated by the fact that the concave surfaces are lined with a glandular tissue resembling the poison glands of the venomous weever Trachinus draco of Europe.

Dogfish also known as a cat shark can have many meanings but usually refers to a type of shark.

Some stony fords with uncomplicated rapids which stretch to the mouth of the river Krepostnoi Zilair Fortress Zilair named after the rock near the mouth which looks like a fortress.Among the fords there are stony pools stretching from 500 m to 1. 5 km.The shallow section of the river is here.Below the mouth of the river Krepostnoi Zilair the Sakmara looks like a typical mountain river with many rapids and fords.

It is a tributary of the Ural River which it meets in Orenburg.The source of the Sakmara River is in the Republic of Bashkortostan.It rises in the southern Ural Mountains about 60km west-southwest of Magnitogorsk and flows south through a valley with some canyon development.

Sakmara River is a river in Russia that drains the southern tip of the Ural Mountains south into the Ural River.Its length is 760 kilometers 470 miles.It is a tributary of the Ural River which it meets in Orenburg.The source of the Sakmara River is in the Republic of Bashkortostan.Other towns along the Sakmara are Yuldybayevo Bashkortostan Kuvandyk and Saraktash Orenburg Oblast.

The complaint was addressed to General Amuli Bahigwa the officer in command of Congolese army operations in eastern Congo.The Congolese groups said that abuses were continuing under Zimurinda's command including with his direct involvement.

Pan Mass Challenge Can Be A Challenge

The PMC is so respected in cycling and fundraising circles that each year people travel from all over the world to participate.Cyclists choose between seven routes that range from 47 to 190 miles.The camaraderie shared by cyclists volunteers and supporters is among the PMC's greatest attributes.

This year's Pan Mass Challenge takes place August 7-8 and is expected to attract approximately 5000 riders and 2000 volunteers.The goal is to raise approximately $31 million in contributions for the Jimmy Fund and the Dana-Farber Institute.

Preparation for the PMC begins in early spring for most cyclists.Weather at least in the Northeast can be a challenge over the winter months and most of us will have to regain some fitness.

Many states kick off back to school shopping with the tax free holiday so school starting dates affect when the weekend begins.Texas will have their tax free holiday later in August than other states.Individual state departments of revenue have details about the starting and ending hours of the tax free holidays as well as details about what items are allowed to be purchased as without having to pay tax.

In Alabama the sales apply to clothing under $100 school garments under $50 study materials under $30 and gazettes under $750.The sales tax holidays are popular among retailers as these holidays boost in sales without giving up any revenue. Different shop owners have reported that last year the stores saw a boost of about 20% in sales during the tax free weekend which earned them much profit.

As in previous years the law exempts most clothing and footwear priced under $100 from sales and use taxes which could save shoppers about $8 on every $100 they spend.Backpacks under $100 and used by elementary and secondary students are also exempt.

Entertainment Will Be No Longer Entertainig Mary Hart Is Leaving

Last week, we heard grumblings that the show was giving old Mary the axe to bring in some younger blood - Lara Spencer from The Insider. Turns out, Mary is leaving ET, but she is leaving of her own accord.

Mary Hart will step down as host of "Entertainment Tonight" after next season, the show's 30th. No word on who will replace Hart, who became a star in her own right presenting the latest entertainment news and gossip. It would be fun to look at a show from 30 years ago and compare it with one now just to see how it went from sweet to sensationalistic. The New York Post appears to have had the scoop, which the show confirmed.

She announced her departure plans on 5th August,, saying that she was ready for a change. She is scheduled to leave after the show's 30th season which begins 13th September. Mary Hart joined the show in 1982. Lara Spencer the anchor for the "The Insider" has been has been mentioned as a possible successor.
