iPhone Powerful Graphic | iPhone Exclusive Preview | iPhone Major LTE Capabilities

Once again, rumors of a smaller iPad with a 7-inch screen are surfacing. iLounge's source claims the smaller iPad is "substantially finished and will be ready for announcement either later this year or early in 2011. Apple has been prototyping devices with screens of this size for a long time quite possibly predating the original iPhone." We always liked the idea of a smaller, cheaper iPad that's more pocket friendly, so we hope this is true. But we're wondering if Apple will do anything this year that might slacken the demand on the current iPad, which continues to sell very well.

Some of you will undoubtedly say, "Wow, David, the iPhone 4 has barely been released and you're already talking about No. 5." My answer: Why not? For a guy like me, who already owns an iPhone 3GS and won't be buying the iPhone 4 (as great as it may be, it's missing some features I want), I've already moved on and I'm looking ahead. The end result of my iPhone 5 fantasies is a list of 20 items ordered from least to most important in a reverse countdown. I've also included what we think are the odds of Apple actually implementing each request.

As always, feel free to agree or disagree with me and make your own suggestions (and to post your own ordered wish list). I will update the list after the comments start rolling--so get your two cents in. Perhaps Apple's listening.iPhone 5 - Not much meat on this one, but the word is that Apple is pushing up the release date of the fifth-generation iPhone to "early 2011." Translation: as soon as January. The reason is believed to be because of the antenna issues with the iPhone 4.

Another rumor, which sounds far more plausible, is that Apple is looking for a cheaper way to make the bumpers that it is currently giving out for free. Current speculation is to make them out of silicone and without the hard plastic of the present design.New iPods are also expected sooner rather than later to hit the back-to-school buying season. iPods are becoming a smaller part of Apple's business, but we'd be surprised if we didn't see new iPod Nano, Touch and Shuffle. Interestingly, the Shuffle could be getting a small 1.7-inch touchscreen.

This iPhone 5 will have dual core processors and higher and powerful graphic chips that can deliver higher video resolutions and better "still" images when taking pictures, AND it will make multi-tasking a breeze. There are a few networks working on building a 4G network. T-mobile would be a likely carrier since they are GSM already. Sprint has a 4G network already... AT&T and Verizon Wireless are in the beginning stages. There are talks of Verizon Wireless getting iPhone sometime in 2010 but it looks like they will get it for sure in 2011 when the new iPhone 5 comes out.

Fighting in his first bout since being inducted into the UFC Hall of Fame in May, former welterweight champion Matt Hughes pulled off an unlikely win over black belt Ricardo Almeida. Hughes hammered Almeida with a left hand, which essentially knocked Almeida out on his feet.

Matt Hughes improved to 45-7 by choking out Ricardo Almeida (12-4) 3:15 into the first round of their welterweight bout. Hughes received a minimum of $260,000, including a $100,000 win bonus and $60,000 for the submission, for his first fight since being inducted into the UFC Hall of Fame in May. Almeida took home $35,000.

Another reader says, Anderson Silva is one of the best fighters in the world, and I have all the respect in the world for him, but Sonnen also deserves respect. You guys squawk back and forth like children. Both men put on an amazing, entertaining fight. Silva is great, but he didn't bow to Sonnen for nothing. I personally was routing for Sonnen, because cheering for Silva, is like going to a casino and cheering for the house to win. Christmas Wishes & Geeting | Christmas Gift Ideas | Christmas Holiday Planning

Posted: 09 Sep 2010 02:25 AM PDT

The Advent and Christmas season is a time to draw near to Christ, opening our hearts and minds to who Jesus is and why He came to live among us on that night in Bethlehem so many years ago. What does knowing Christ mean today, and what are the implications for our future? We offer the following Christ-centered seasonal meditations for your consideration.

Christmas is not simply a national or world holiday. It is a deeply personal event for every Christian. Being a "Christian" is not about just about observing a holiday or going to church or trying to live a good life. These are certainly worthy endeavors, yet can be pursued without any definitive spiritual connection to Jesus Christ. Being a "Christ-ian" means following Jesus and really dealing with who He is and what He means to you. If you haven't done this, take a few minutes to truly consider Steps to Peace With God and the Good News of Jesus Christ, which is for all of us  especially you.

I realize that this comment is not always motivated by the cashier's genuine interest in whether or not I enjoy my holiday. I'm aware that they may be saying this because they've been told to. I can envision the memo from K mart corporate headquarters directing cashiers when to switch from "Have a nice day" to "Happy Holidays," on the assumption that this will somehow help cement a lasting bond between the store and the customer that won't evaporate when a Wal-Mart opens across the street.

I'm aware of all that, and suspicious of the whole business. But at least once every year, I have a cashier who looks me in the eye and says "Merry Christmas," and really means it. And it changes my whole day.Christmas Eve could be better option if you want to be with your family on the day of Christmas. This is a good option if you don't mind the crowd and bit of extra money. Best would be to book in advance. And if you cannot book early and still want to make it cheap, Christmas day is the answer.

But flying on Christmas day has its own disadvantages. Once you arrive at your destination, most shops are closed. Not much dinner options. And you might not even get a ride from airport. Check if your hotel has an attached restaurant which actually serves food and that too at normal price. So plan carefully and avoid Christmas Eve travel. But of course, if you are flying to you family, then somebody will always be there to give you food, water and warmth!

There should be no spending limits. What is important in the gift is how much time you have put in it. We all know that an expensive but thoughtless gift doesn't really carry the same meaning as an inexpensive but thoughtful gift. So, if you are interested in a relatively expensive gift that your beloved must appreciate, but you give it up because its price, then you turn to choose a cheap one that you don't like it, why do you expect him or her to like it? How can the gift help your relationship. New sexy swimwear Direction of Fashion In the Season of Spring Ignore what the merchants are saying.

Dabangg Movie Review Corrupt Police Officer | Dabangg Movie Review Movie Comments | Hit And Flop

Posted: 09 Sep 2010 01:20 AM PDT

The job of a promo is to give a gist of the film and prepare the audience well in advance about what to expect when they saunter into an auditorium. The promos of DABANGG have sent the right signals to the audience about it being a paisa vasool entertainer. Let's face it, DABANGG has nothing ground-breaking to offer as far as its plot is concerned. We've visited similar stories in the past, but what makes DABANGG shine, and shine brightly, is Salman's star power, which camouflages the aberrations wonderfully. The darling of the masses has been cast in a role that his fans love to see him in, which explains why this film works from start to end.

Dabangg is a movie that has been made his own by Salman Khan. The film tells the story of a Robin Hood-type cop named Chulbul Pandey (Salman Khan), who is a corrupt police officer, but has his own way of judging right and wrong. Pandey has had a forgettable childhood after his mother (Dimple Kapadia) married Prajapati Pandey (Vinod Khanna). Makhanchan (Arbaaz Khan) is Chulbul's half-brother who is given preference in everything, which makes the latter a bitter child.

They inexplicable reason, masala films became extinct or should I say, disappeared from the face of Hindi cinema over a period of time. GHAJINI and WANTED revived this genre, bringing back memories of the bygone era. Now DABANGG takes this genre one step ahead.

Dabangg movie is a dream plan for Abhinav Kashyap, brother of director Anurag Kashyap and producer Arbaaz Khan. The catchy music by Sajid-Wajid which includes Tere Mast Mast Do Nain sung by Rahat Fateh Ali Khan to Malaika Arora Khan's item number Munni Badnaam to the title track Hud Hud Dabangg has already captured the hearts of the people. With Salman's rocking look in Tere Naam, his new look in "Dabangg" , has already rocked the actor among his friends.

Salman is featured as a corrupt police officer from Bihar in Dabangg. Salman Khan has also lost his six-pack abs and has left behind his favorite good luck bracelet feroza as it did not suit the looks of the character. If you thought that Salman Khan is the hero of Dabangg let me warn you, he is not. He is a corrupt police officer known by the name Chulbul Pandey (also called as Robinhood Pandey in the film because of his excellence in aiming his gun to hit the target just like the old legendary archer Robin Hood did).

Salman Khan plays a character of corrupt police officer, Chulbul Pandey a.k.a Robinhood Pandey in Lalganj, Uttar Pradesh. Chulbul's father passed away when he was very young after which his mother, Naini (Dimple Kapadia) married Prajapati Pandey (Vinod Khanna). They have a son, Makhanchand Arbaaz Khan.

Eid In India People Often Visit Bazaars | Eid In Make Sweet Dish Celebration Of India | Eidul Fiter Public Day

The month of Ramadan is historically associated with two important victories of Prophet Muhammad - the battle of Badr and the conquest of Makkah. Fasting during the month of Ramadan, according to Islamic beliefs, helps in developing self-control and is a way of getting closer to Allah. The festival of Eid ul Fitr marks the beginning of celebrations and merriment for a period extending over three days. Women prepare sweets at home and all Muslims are seen adorned with new dresses on this day. Eid ul Fitr is synonymous with joy and thanksgiving. Such is the spirit of this great festival that even a lot of Non-Muslims participate in Eid celebrations in India.

Syed Ali Geelani had invited media and had planned certain programmes which could have disturbed the public order. Keeping in view all the expected developments which could have occurred by his moves, he was arrested and has been lodged in Police Post, Humhama," he said.

Religious rituals are the same, but it's the difference in cuisine which makes fasting, or rather the after-fast feasting, a bit of a challenge for the international community. Musao, for instance, fondly misses kaak (biscuits stuffed with dates), an Eid staple in Palestine. Carried away by nostalgia, he says, "Our Eid breakfast comprises fesekh (a salty deep-fried fish) which lasts for days. Then, we visit homes of friends, relatives and neighbours," he says. Without a big community of Palestinians in Delhi, Kassab and Mousa are attending the Eid function at the Embassy of Sudan, also an Arab nation and hence culturally close.

Eid ul-Fitr (Arabic, عيد الفطر 'Īdu l-Fiṭr‎), often abbreviated to Eid, is a Muslim holiday that marks the end of Ramadan, the Islamic holy month of fasting (sawm). Eid is an Arabic word meaning "festivity", while Fiṭr means "break-fasting, and so the holiday symbolizes the celebration of break-fasting after completing the fasting of the entire month of Ramadan (calendar month). The first day of Eid, therfore, is the first day of the month Shawwal that comes after Ramadan.

Ganesha Chaturthi Aarti And Bhajans | Great Ganesha Festival | Ganesh Chaturthi Celebrations

Posted: 09 Sep 2010 12:57 AM PDT

The festival is observed in the Hindu calendar month of Bhaadrapada, starting on the shukla chaturthi (fourth day of the waxing moon period). The date usually falls between 20 August and 15 September. The festival lasts for 10 days, ending on Anant Chaturdashi (fourteenth day of the waxing moon period).Tilak encouraged installation of large public images of Ganesh in pavilions, and also established the practice of submerging in rivers, sea, or other pools of water all public images of the deity on the tenth day after Ganesh Chaturthi.Under Tilak's encouragement, the festival facilitated community participation and involvement in the form of intellectual discourses, poetry recitals, performances of plays, musical concerts, and folk dances. It served as a meeting ground for people of all castes.

On the day of the festival, it is placed on raised platforms in homes or in elaborately decorated outdoor tents for people to view and pay their homage. The priest, usually clad in red silk dhoti and shawl, then invokes life into the idol amidst the chanting of mantras. This ritual is called 'pranapratishhtha'. After this the 'shhodashopachara' (16 ways of paying tribute) follows. Coconut, jaggery, 21 'modakas' (rice flour preparation), 21 'durva' (trefoil) blades and red flowers are offered. The idol is anointed with red unguent or sandal paste (rakta chandan). Throughout the ceremony, Vedic hymns from the Rig Veda and Ganapati Atharva Shirsha Upanishad, and Ganesha stotra from the Narada Purana are chanted.

The whole community comes to worship Ganesha in beautifully done tents. These also serve as the venue for free medical checkup, blood donation camps, charity for the poor, dramatic performances, films, devotional songs, etc. during the days of the festival. The celebrations of this festival can be seen in advance but the most important are the last days of this occasion when the idols of Lord Ganesha is immersed in the sea. This entire occasion is made more lively by the devotional songs, dances and drum beats that are a part of the procession followed by the devotees of Lord Ganesha.

For 10 days, from Bhadrapad Shudh Chaturthi to the Ananta Chaturdashi, Ganesha is worshipped. On the 11th day, the image is taken through the streets in a procession accompanied with dancing, singing, to be immersed in a river or the sea symbolizing a ritual see-off of the Lord in his journey towards his abode in Kailash while taking away with him the misfortunes of all man. All join in this final procession shouting "Ganapathi Bappa Morya, Purchya Varshi Laukariya" (O father Ganesha, come again early next year). After the final offering of coconuts, flowers and camphor is made, people carry the idol to the river to immerse it.

Don't forget not to look at the moon on that day; remember that it behaved unbecomingly towards the Lord. This really means avoid the company of all those who have no faith in God, and who deride God, your Guru and religion, from this very day. During the celebration, every household in Mumbai install a clay idol of Lord Ganesha. The Ganesh Chaturthi is the festival to mark the Birthday of Lord Ganesha, who is widely worshiped as the God of wisdom, prosperity and end of atrocities. The festival was started as the mega public event in Maharashtra and its adjoining states by the renowned freedom fighter Bal Gangadhar Tilak. In a bid to bridge the gap between Brahmins and non-Brahmins, Tilak described the deity Ganesha as God of everybody.

Gujarat Pipavav Port is the developer and operator of APM Terminals Pipavav, which has multi-cargo and multi-user operations. The company is mainly engaged in providing port handling and marine services for container, bulk and LPG cargo and is promoted by APM Terminals, which owns 57.9 per cent equity interest in the company.

The report says, We cannot directly compare GPPL with Mundra Port and SEZ Ltd (Mundra) as the company is much smaller and provides limited services as compared to Mundra which has SEZ and other assets. GPPL has a lower margin as compared to Mundra as the company's utilization rate was lower and it was incurring costs to expand capacity and relocate its LPG cargo ports. Going forward, with the operational efficiency, startup of LPG cargo services and lower debt burden we expect the company's margin to improve substantially. Looking at the long term growth prospects of the company and scope to expand the margin we recommend to subscribe to this IPO.

Gujarat Pipavav operates APM Terminals Pipavav, which is India's first private sector port, and has multi cargo and multi user operations. APM Pipavav is located in the Saurashtra region in Gujarat, and is an all weather port. It provides port handling and marine services for container cargo, bulk cargo, and LPG cargo. It commenced cargo handling operations in 1996, and container handling services in 1998. Their capacity is to handle up to 0.60 million TEUs of container cargo, and approximately 5 million tonnes of bulk cargo per year.

Karur Vysya Bank Online Banking Accounts | Karur Vysya Bank Financial Needs | India's Largest Media Group

The bank will issue two bonus shares for every five existing shares. Further, on the bonus capital, the bank has announced a rights issue of two shares for every five shares at a price of Rs 150. The exercise will add over Rs 450-500 crore in the bank's kitty. The combined effect of both the issues would dilute the equity of the bank by around 51%. A similar drop can be expected in the bank's stock price after the record date. The move will also increase the capital adequacy ratio (CAR) of the bank, which will exceed 15% from its current levels of 14.5%. A better CAR means the bank would be able to maintain the momentum in the growth of its loan book.

Karur Vysya Bank ranks among the top league when it comes to operating parameters including margins and asset quality. Net interest margins (NIM) stood at 3.4% at the end of the June 2010 quarter. NIM is the difference between the yield on advances and the cost of borrowing for the bank. Given that most banks strive to achieve and NIM of 3%, the bank's performance is laudable. One of the possible reasons for the higher NIM is the bank's lower cost of borrowing, which reflects from a high current and savings account balances of 24% of total deposits. Further, its net non-performing assets form just 0.2% of net advances, which is one of the best in the banking industry.

KVB has decided to reward existing shareholders with a bonus issue in the ratio of two shares of Rs 10 each for every five shares held. This will increase the capital to Rs 76.26 crore from the existing Rs 54.45 crore. After the bonus issue, the bank will come out with a rights issue offering shareholders two shares for every five shares held. The price per right share will be Rs 150 (Rs 140 premium for the Rs 10 paid-up share). The bank will issue 3.05-crore rights shares at a price of Rs 150 to raise Rs 457.54 crore.

They said after a long time, the bank has decided to raise the cap on the aggregate foreign investment from all sources to 35% from 24%.It is required to raise the limit as it has almost touched the 24% cap and other private sector banks have hiked it as per government policy.Angel Broking vice-president research banking, Vaibhav Agrawal, says: "Generally, smaller banks like Karur Vysya rely more on equity for their capital adequacy requirements as Tier-1 and Tier-2 bonds are not available to them at attractive rates. Considering that the bank's capital adequacy was relatively low at 12.5%, the rights issue makes sense to fund future growth.

The move comes at a time when the bank has been expanding its loan book at a faster pace. For instance, the bank grew its advances by 28% in the June 2010 quarter on a year-on-year basis. This was considerably higher than the average growth in bank credit of around 20% during the period.Another positive signal to investors is the bank's decision to increase the aggregate foreign investment capital to 35% of the total capital from the existing limit of 24%. A higher foreign institutional participation reflects the confidence these institutions have in the bank's growth potential.

The company mopped up Rs 500 crore from the public issue. The IPO was in the price band of Rs 42-48 per share and after closing, the issue price was fixed at Rs 46 per share. The issue opened on August 23 and closed on August 26. It was subscribed 19.94 times.Gujarat Pipavav Port is the developer and operator of APM Terminals Pipavav, which has multi-cargo and multi-user operations. It commenced cargo handling operations in 1996, and container handling services in 1998. Their capacity is to handle up to 0.60 million TEUs of container cargo, and approximately 5 million tonnes of bulk cargo per year.

The thing that jumps at you when you look at the income statement of Gujarat Pipavav is the huge interest expense. In 2009, they had revenues of Rs. 2,244.98 million, and borrowing cost of Rs. 1,156.78 million, which is about 51.5% of its revenues! No wonder then that the company has not turned a net profit in any of its past five years (for which I saw numbers in the prospectus). The company states that Rs. 3 billion raised from this IPO will be used for prepayment of loans, which forms the bulk of its utilization from the IPO proceeds.

There is outstanding debt of Rs. 10,749.53 outstanding as on June 30 2010, so about 28% of that is being pre-paid by the company, and this should reduce the interest payment by a similar ratio. The cash flow statement shows that the company had negative operating cash flows for the past 3 years, but had a positive operating cash flow for 2007, 2006 and 2005.The company has a book value of Rs. 9.78 as on December 2009, and here is how it stacks up against Mundra Port which it has listed down as its competitor in its prospectus.

Mundra Ports traded for about Rs. 800 last Friday, so you can make a rough comparison based on price to book value from there. Keep in mind though that Mundra is much bigger than Gujarat Pipavav in terms of absolute size.Interestingly enough the company has a Traffic Guarantee Agreement with the Indian Railways and has not been able to meet the minimum guaranteed traffic and as a result has had to pay Rs. 1076 million in 2008, Rs. 306 million in 2009, and Rs. 54 million in 2010 to them. As you can see these numbers are coming down, and very soon the company could generate enough traffic to bring this number down to 0.

So two big bleeders for the company – borrowing costs and guarantee payments are likely to come down in the future. In fact, CRISIL expects the gearing of the company to come down from 4.7x in Sep 2009 to 0.9x in CY 2012. So, the company could be looking at an improved profitability in the coming years. This has been an interesting IPO to look at, and these were some points that I found interesting about the company.

Eid UL Fitr 2010 India Muslim Festivals | Eid UL Fitr 2010 India Celebrated | Eid UL Fitr 2010 Public Holidays

Posted: 08 Sep 2010 11:47 PM PDT

Eid ul Fitr or the 'festival of fast breaking' is the most celebratory of all Muslim festivals. The term 'Eid' has been derived from the Arabic word 'oud', which means 'the return' and hence, signifies the return of the festival each year. The festival is significant as much for its timing, as for its religious implications. It is celebrated after the long fasting month of Ramadan (the ninth month of the Islamic calendar), on the first day of the Shawwal month of the Hijri year (Islamic calendar). Legend says that the Qur'an was revealed to Prophet Mohammed in the last ten days of Ramadan.

The above dates are Government of India holidays, when government offices will be closed nationwide. In addition, there are numerous festivals and fairs which are also observed in some states as holidays, the dates of which change from year to year. For more details, contact Incredible India (see Contact Addresses).  Muslim festivals are timed according to local sightings of various phases of the moon and the dates given above are approximations. During the lunar month of Ramadan that precedes Eid al-Fitr, Muslims fast during the day and feast at night and normal business patterns may be interrupted. Many restaurants are closed during the day and there may be restrictions on smoking and drinking.

India is the second most populous Islamic nation in the world. Muslims form India's largest minority and constitute almost 12% of the country's total population. Islam is also the most recent religion added to India's already potent cultural concoction. Islam came to India in 12th century AD and began interacting with the Indian culture, particularly under the Mughal era. Needless to say, it was a mutually enriching experience. A majority of Indian Muslims reside in the north, but a significant number is found all across the country. Hence, their traditions add yet another dimension to the vast cultural landscape of India.

Although Eid al-Fitr is always on the same day of the Islamic calendar, the date on the Gregorian calendar varies from year to year, since the Gregorian calendar is a solar calendar and the Islamic calendar is a lunar calendar. This difference means Eid al-Fitr moves in the Gregorian calendar approximately 11 days every year. The date of Eid al-Fitr may also vary from country to country depending on whether the moon has been sighted or not.

In India, Eid is normally celebrated next day of Saudi Arabia so it is likely that Indians will celebrate it on Saturday 11 September. Moonsighting is expected on Thursday, September 9 in most of the world. so Eid will be on Friday, September 10 in most of the world.

The opening match of Airtel Champions League T20 2010 (or CLT 2010) will be played at Wanderers, where Sachin Tendulkar's Mumbai Indians clash with Alviro Petersen's Highveld Lions.

There would be complete scrutiny of every ball bowled during the tournament as the cricket world is on shock after the fixing allegations on Pakistani Team and their player in the alleged sting video admitting the match fixing, followed by which some allegation have forced on the matches of IPL as well however none of the players have been mentioned as of now.
