What China Worries About More Than It’s Economy Cooling Off AND Falling Cats

Posted: 09 Sep 2010 01:06 PM PDT

China worries about its economy cooling off.

The country, well, some of the people might be worrying about falling cats, too.

What could be worse?

How about falling gas tanks placed on window sills by a man being influenced by ET – you know, the little green guy, extra terrestrials.

Some knucklehead placed two gas tanks on the window sill of his room. When he walked away, they fell out. One person was killed and another was injured.

The man claimed ET told him to put them there.

He's now in the hospital, mental-type, and has been diagnosed with mild shizophrenia.

Everyone else is walking around China much more carefully hoping that the season for falling cats and gas tanks has passed.

When was the last time you worried about something falling out of the sky and killing you?

The Sky is Falling in China – Global Warming Warnings

Posted: 09 Sep 2010 09:05 AM PDT

Henny Penny is running around in China, too.

The doomsdayers are saying that Global Warming is threatening China's food output.

Rice, wheat and corn could fall by up to 37% in the second half of this century if something is not done in the next 20-50 years.

The key word is could = they don't know. And 1% falls in the numbers up to 37%. Twenty to 50 years…whenever numbers double, it is because the predictors have no idea.

Temperatures in China have risen 0.5 to 0.8 degress centigrade in the past 100 years. Note, the second number is almost two times the first = they don't know.

Still…which area of China are they talking about? It's a big country.

China's southwest saw the worst draught in 50 years. Fifty years is an awful small number when we think that about how old the earth is.

The Yellow River will see evaporation increase by 15% a year. Gee…won't it be gone in about a quarter century? I don't think so.

China's sea level is expected to rise 1 to 16 cms in the next 25 years.  Uh…put an ice cube in a glass of water. When the ice melts, what happens to the level of water in the glass?

And if it is warm enough for ice to melt, there is more snow to compensate on the mountains = same old same old conditions.

Moving from a labor intensive economy toward a technology-driven economy, making better use of energy resources and protecting the environment, and developing advanced nuclear energy and other renewable energies are all great ideas.

But GLOBAL WARMING is NOT the reason they should be done.

What do you think?

Cricinfo writes “On then to Highveld Lions v Mumbai Indians, which seems a hopeless mismatch on paper. It’s Tendulkar, Pollard, Malinga, Zaheer, Bravo, Harbhajan v Alviro Petersen and lesser-known friends. It’s also the classic tussle between the powerful and the underdog.”

“One team is the triumph of money, a rich, powerful ensemble, most of them bought in an auction, but also a unit that has learned to play well enough as a team to have dominated the IPL. The other team is largely a collection of homegrown talent, who have stayed together through good times and bad, winning the inaugural domestic Twenty20 competition in South Africa, then struggling for three years before finishing runners-up last year.”

Eid 2010 India – Eid Ul Fitr To Be Celebrated On Friday September 10

Posted: 09 Sep 2010 06:03 AM PDT

Eid Ul Fitr is going to be celebrated on Friday, September 10 in many parts of the world. Eid Ul Fitr symbolizes the end of the month of Ramadan or Ramzan that observes hard fasting or 'Sawm' and the beginning of the next month called Shawwal.

Sacrifice and kindness are the two things that are associated with Eid Ul Fitr. The month of Ramadan is completely devoted to these kind deeds, in order to be answerable to God after death and this day is also celebrated to thank God for everything that he has given to the mankind.

The word 'Eid' denotes festivity and 'Fitr' means breaking the fast, hence the name 'Eid Ul Fitr'. The festival observes lots of charity being done like distribution of food, clothing and also money, to the people who are painstakingly in need.

Thus, apart from celebration, Eid Ul Fitr also marks the sense of responsibility for the mankind and also the love for the brethrens all round the world.
