CWG Theme Song Reloaded

CWG Theme Song

CWG Theme Song

With everyone starting from the sports minister M.S. Gill and the Group of Ministers to the general public disliking the previous effort in composing the CWG theme song by A.R. Rahman, he has come back with an improvement. The Lyricist Prasoon Joshi rewrote the song titled ‘oh yaaro, yeh India bula liya’ lessening the length while Rahman gave it a much deserved 'folky' inclinations.

The song was released in a much better version which is more upbeat on 11th September and the corresponding video will come out in a week's time. The video is going to be on expected lines of prominent sportspersons in the forefront and India's feats at the previous sports meets around the world being chronicled.

The composition which made Rahman richer by Rs. 5 crores has been both performed and musically enhanced by him in approximately 6 months time. The previous song that he made public earned him much criticism and there was widespread dissatisfaction. He was then forced to give it a second look and make it more attention grabbing as was anticipated. Afterall it's the very first time we are making our presence felt in the sports arena. The 'Waka Waka' by Shakira was so catchy and very much related to the world cup Football in every way possible.

When we have a Grammy as well as Oscar winner to boast of in the form of A. R. Rahman, it's not too much to expect him to equal that if not better it. So the CWG is now much upbeat and will soon have a video to accompany it. How the audience takes the combination of the two is yet to be witnessed.

Saradaga Kasepu Movie Review: Fails expectations

Posted: 17 Sep 2010 05:53 AM PDT

Saradaga Kasepu

Saradaga Kasepu

Saradaga Kasepu movie reviews have disappointed audiences even before they could watch the movie. The story starts of well. The setting is perfect, with Rajahmundry location and the beautiful river Godavari. Yet, the 'love' story is hardly magical. Or is it not even supposed to be?

Saradaga Kasepu is about a driver Ranga Babu (Naresh). When Sreenu (Srinivas) urges him to trade places as he wishes to observe his to-be wife before the wedding, the story goes in a different direction. Predictably, Raja Rao (Ahuti Prasad) finds out about the entire plot. Sreenu's father or Gajapati (Jeeva) is the one behind this information leak.

The movie swirls in humour in between when Sreenu, comes out with his real identity and turns into the real groom. At the same time, Ranga Babu starts eyeing Raja Rao’s daughter. Amidst so many characters, there is one Chitti Raju (Krishna Bhagawan), the lawyer with a new plan in his head. What he intends to do is to bump off Raja Rao's brother Neelakantam (MS Narayana). The story ends quite predictably.

The movie Saradaga Kasepu wins attention only so long as Srinivas Avasarala is the high-headed character. Once he becomes another routine natured person, the movie is no longer any different. Then all there is to the screen is some shy, submissive Srinivas and blabbering Naresh.

The movie is about how a love story changes, yet to expect it to exceed your expectations is injustice to yourself. Only some dialogues in between stand out. Otherwise, this potentially fantastic movie lacks in the fizz it deserved. Vamsi needs better stories!
