Red Sox Yankees single to power Boston

The Yankees - Red Sox rivalry is one of the oldest, most famous and fiercest rivalries in American professional sports. For over 100 years, Major League Baseball The Boston Red Sox and The New York Yankees of the American League have been intense rivals. The rivalry is sometimes so polarizing that it is often a heated taboo subject, like religion or politics, in the Northeastern United States. Since the inception of the wild card team and an added Division Series, the American League East rivals have squared off in the American League Championship Series three times, with the Yankees winning twice in 1999 and 2003 and the Sox winning in 2004.


The BoSox's Dustin Pedroia had a two-run homer and an RBI single to power Boston past New York 9-7 in a wild opener. The Red Sox overcame an early 5-1 deficit thanks to timely hitting by Pedroia, Kevin Youkilis and newcomer Adrian Beltre.

KFC Double Down First Appearance in Rhode

This breadless wonder made its first appearance in Rhode Island and Nebraska in August for public testing, and it looks like it passed. According to KFC.com, the sandwich will launch across the U.S. on April 12.

From the Consumerist: "The Original Recipe [Double Down] sandwich will set you back about 540 calories, 32g of fat and 1380mg of sodium. The not-as-bad-for-you Grilled Double Down totals 460 calories, 23g of fat and 1430mg of sodium."

Eligibility criteria:
To apply for MAH-MBA/MMS-CET a candidate must have a bachelor's degree with atleast 45% aggregate marks(40% for Maharashtra Backwards Classes). Those in the final year of their graduation can also apply.
Availability of Application forms for MAH-MBA/MMS-CET:
The application kits for MAH CET are expected to be available by January in the designated post offices across Maharashtra and also GPOs of selected big cities. After buying the application kit candidates have to apply online at www.dte.org.in/mba.

Clash of the Titans Movie Revie and trailer

Clash of the Titans is a 2010 fantasy film which is a remake of the 1981 film of the same name. This remake is very loosely based upon the Greek myth of Perseus. Directed by Louis Leterrier and starring Sam Worthington, the film was originally set for standard release on March 26, 2010. It was later announced that the film would be converted to 3-D and was released on April 2, 2010.

The 2010 version of Clash feels much different than the original. Maybe it was supposed more like and adaption than a remake. Maybe my expectations were too high. Maybe they should have stuck to the original story. Where's my talking statue? I remember being afraid of Medusa, being afraid of The Kraken, wanting a robot owl to follow me around, and wishing I had a horse with wings. All of the nostalgia seems to be missing from this "remake."





"I'm not saying I know what exactly will happen to [Sam Worthington's] Perseus in the next two movies, but I know the direction and it's pretty exciting," director Louis Leterrier said. "It's ancient superheroes."

Despite being dressed in a short skirt for most of the film, Sam Worthington makes a convincing action hero; and even if you're a fan of the original 1981 version -- just as campy, by the way -- it's hard to deny that in their cheesiness itself lies much of the charm of these movies.

Strong quake kills 2 in Mexico, rattles US states

TIJUANA, Mexico – A powerful earthquake swayed buildings from Los Angeles to Tijuana, killing two people in Mexico, blacking out cities and forcing the evacuation of hospitals and nursing homes. One California city closed off its downtown due to unstable buildings.
The 7.2-magnitude quake centered just south of the U.S. border near Mexicali was one of the strongest earthquakes to hit region in decades.
"It sounds like it's felt by at least 20 million people," USGS seismologist Lucy Jones said. "Most of Southern California felt this earthquake."
Sunday afternoon's earthquake hit hardest in Mexicali, a bustling commerce center along Mexico's border with California, where authorities said the quake was followed by at least 20 smaller aftershocks, including ones of magnitudes 5.1, 4.5 and 4.3. The initial quake had a shallow depth of 6 miles (10 kilometers).
"It has not stopped trembling in Mexicali," said Baja California state Civil Protection Director Alfredo Escobedo.

The Tennis Girl is a hugely popular poster. It shows a young woman from behind walking towards the net of a tennis court with a tennis racquet in her right hand and her left hand reaching behind lifting her short tennis dress, showing she is not wearing any underwear.
The photograph was taken by Martin Elliott in September 1976 and features then-18-year-old Fiona Butler, his girlfriend at the time. The photo was taken at Birmingham University, Edgbaston, Birmingham, using a borrowed dress, racquet and balls.

"Martin had a marvellous sense of humour and was a great joker. He always thought he would get better,'' she said.
''He sold the image to Athena but he retained the copyright.
''I am still getting royalties to this day. They're only a few pence but because it has sold all over the world we have done well out of it."
Martin studied at the Birmingham School of Photography and went on to work in advertising with a studio in Birmingham's Jewellery Quarter. He retired to Cornwall 11 years ago after living in Stourbridge, in the West Midlands.

Tyler Perry is movies feel more like marketing

30.1 million in its first weekend. The sequel to his 2007 hit "Why Did I Get Married?" not only beat the opening of that movie by almost $10 million, but it was also Perry's biggest start for a movie that didn't feature his Madea character.

With nine hits in the last five years, none of this should come as a surprise. Yet even his own studio seemed caught a little off guard. "I always underestimate his box office," said Dan Spitz, Lionsgate's executive vice president of distribution. 


Great news right? Well, as is often the case with these very expensive films opening to big but not astronomical numbers, it all depends about how well it holds up. The film cost $125 million, so a somewhat decent hold as well as strong overseas business is needed to actually make this a profitable venture. At a glance, the prospects do not look good.


For all that, his movies feel more like marketing coups than personal statements. They stick to topics such as infidelity, money woes, and substance abuse. Although Perry helped produce Lee Daniels' wrenching dramaPrecious: Based on the Novel 'Push' by Sapphire, about a sexually abused teenager, his own films shy away from controversy or ugliness.

Bidaai 5th April 2010 Star Plus

sapnaa babul ka…. bidaai, started off on the 10th of October, 2007 with many hopes at 9pm on plus. During these 1 1/2 years it has emerged as the top show of television. Earlier it was tuned to 1 hour which made the story very interesting due to the uprising of many twists in the show. However from the past 3 to 4 weeks, the story is getting a bit too boring due to over-acting of alekh, and mental disabled man as sometimes he is the smartest man in the world(eg. in judging who is a perfect groom dost for sadhna) and sometimes behaves like a 7 yr old child(in neglecting feelings that sadhna has for him and how bad she will feel if she comes to know this).
