Metal Gear Solid Rising Is Releasing

Right off the bat, the art style has completely changed. The cleaner look will immediately catch your attention as it doesn't feel quite like Metal Gear Solid 4, but as the action begins, you'll soon be planted back on familiar ground.

Since Microsoft didn't make mention of Metal Gear Solid: Rising being exclusive to its console, we had a pretty good indication. Even better is the Gamespress information for the newest, Raiden-starring Metal Gear Solid, which is listed for release on the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC. The release date is still TBA.

A year has gone by with virtually no news of Metal Gear Solid: Rising. Now as E3 kicks off, the first gameplay video ever has surfaced. We've got it for you, and first impressions on everything it tells about the new game, and the whole Metal Gear series.

Metal Gear Solid: Rising​ is an upcoming action video game in the Metal Gear series by Kojima Productions. The game was announced at the Microsoft E3 2009 press conference, and is in development for PlayStation 3, Microsoft Windows, and Xbox 360. The series' former tagline, "Tactical Espionage Action", has been replaced by "Lightning Bolt Action", to fit the new protagonist, Raiden; the word raiden is Japanese for "thunder and lightning".



Hold steady, the days of wishing to play as the sword wielding Gray Fox, the cyborg ninja from MGS1, or as Raiden as he took out a street filled with Geckos are almost here.

Oklahoma City Flooding Getting Worse By Worse

Officials in Chandler said it got so bad there on Thursday that most of Tillman Park was under water. The football fieldhouse flooded, and high water nearly seeped into homes along Fourth and Fifth streets, officials said.

"I'm sick and tired of it. We're about to mildew down here," said Chandler resident Virginia Babcock.

The boat carrying the rescuers sank just as it reached the teen along a North Canadian River tributary that had toppled its banks. A second boat was able to safely recover the girl, the firefighters and the boat owner who lent his craft to the effort, which included more than 50 rescues of residents and stranded motorists.

From 4:15 a.m to 12:30 p.m., the Oklahoma City North Mesonet Station received 10.07 inches of rain. The recording device is located on The Oklahoman property near Britton Road and Broadway Extension.

Fire crews went door to door in the northwest neighborhood of Ski Island, asking residents whose homes back up to Spring Creek to voluntarily evacuate while a nearby dam is evaluated. Rising water was creeping toward the top of the dam by late morning, Oklahoma City spokeswoman Kristy Yager said.

We're hearing that Microsoft's motion-sensing Project Natal add-on for the Xbox 360 will be officially renamed Kinect. While it's possible that the news won't hit until tomorrow, our money is on the name popping up tonight during Microsoft's big show.

"It's not clear what sort of upgrades we might see, but some have suggested it will be a slight upgrade of the current Xbox 360 technology. Current Xbox 360 games would be playable on it, but future games would be able to take advantage of the added muscle."

Now, according to Xbox expert Dean Takahashi at Venture Beat, Jasper-infused Xboxes are finally being spotted out there in the wilds of the marketplace. And presumably, fans of the platform are singing hosannas at the prospect that maybe, finally, some of their brethren might be able to boot up Gears of War without fear of doom.

And this is important since, with Microsoft's recent price reductions for the Xbox the "Arcade" version of the console is now available for $199 it is likely that there will be large numbers of new buyers, especially this holiday season. Unless, that is, the economic situation holds buyers back.

Footage of members of Congress acting like people do occasionally oddly, and often unpleasantly seems to not get the big bursts of attention they maybe once did. Videos of people getting hit in the privates by stepping on rakes was entertainment for a while. Bob Saget made a nice living off of it.

Bobby Ray "Bob" Etheridge (born August 7, 1941) is a member of the United States House of Representatives from North Carolina, representing that state's 2nd congressional district. Etheridge, a Democrat was first elected to the House in 1996.



Congressman, to quote the movie Backdraft, "You see that flash of light in the corner of your eye? That's your career dissipation light. It just went into high gear."

Doctors "narrowed it down" late Tuesday and ultimately diagnosed a recurrence of the thyroid condition, which first struck Bush 20 years ago and for which she has continued medication. Heartbeat irregularities caused by the disease can lead to cardiac arrest in older patients in some situations.

Khloe Kardashian Denies Expecting Baby Rumors

Khloe Kardashian says those recent Baby rumors really messed with her head.

Earlier this month, it was reported that Kardashian and her husband Lamar Odom were expecting their first child together — however he declined to confirm a Baby and she attributed it to just being "fat."

The 25-year-old Kourtney and Khloe Take Miami star was recently rumoured to be expecting a baby with husband Lamar Odom, whom she married last year.

Vince Young Fight in Dallas Club His Attack Video Is Released

Vince Young has found his way directly to the top of the news headlines. Vince Young has been issued a Class C assault citation in Dallas from a fight he was in at a Dallas night club last night (Sunday, June 14th). According to local Dallas news sites, Vince Young was the "prime suspect" in a fight that left the other guy with "bodily injuries".

The incident is alleged to have happened Sunday morning at a Dallas strip club early after a man at the club dissed the University of Texas, Vince Young's school.

For the Tennessee Titans this may be the information they need to determine his future with the team. Young has only two years left on his rookie contract, and this was going to be the all-or-nothing year.

Raiden tears up the setting, cutting anything and anyone in his path, including a new type of enemy that shows remarkable outward similarities to the five "Beauties" of MGS4. The style and ability to cut any item in any direction is quite fluid and seems to incorporate a fairly comprehensive system to connect multiple slashes and abilities.

AMC taps into our collective paranoia with its compelling new conspiracy series, Rubicon. Will Travers is an intelligence analyst who cracks codes for a living. When Will's world is shattered by an untimely death he begins asking questions, diving into a web of mystery and danger. Not every conspiracy is a theory.

Rubicon is the latest series premiering on AMC, following the success of Mad Men and breaking Bad. It is the story of an intelligence analyst who finds himself in the midst of a conspiracy theory, this takes place in New York.



Count me in times a million for this. Beyond hoping that this is a good show, though, I'm hoping Rubicon can usher in a new era of politics shows because I am the biggest sucker ever for entertainment related to government: West Wing, Spin City, but also The State Within, even Parks and Recreation. My favorite parts of 24 are the parts about subverting entrenched governmental structures and untangling the messy web of politics,

Watch True Blood Season 3 Episode 1 Reporting

True Blood Season 3 Episode 1 is written by Brian Buckner and directed by Daniel Minahan. The 3rd season story focused with Sookie (Anna Paquin) desperate to find Bill, role played by Stephen Moyer. After waiting in few months, Sookie finally returned on this all new True Blood Season.

Tonight's episode is over and reactions are coming in and it seems overall that people were happy with the season premiere. Mostly it seems that vampire, shape-shifter and werewolf fans were jazzed that the popular show was finally here. Some spoilers below.

Mircrosfot XBox 360 Slim – Leaked Banner Pics?

This comes as Microsoft were claiming super tight security around their new announcements for tonight and the rest of the week.  Utterly batshit bonkers insane, or whatever the terminology is these days.
UPDATE: Some sites (and CVG readers) are now reporting that this is actually an Xbox 360 HD DVD player (remember those?) Can anyone confirm?

Looks like the new Xbox 360 Slim is leaked through an online advertisement. A banner, which first appeared on console-tribe.com(and is still active at the time of posting), shows a very professional looking flash advert which links to the Italian Xbox website. The console itself boasts a 250GB hard drive, embedded WiFi and is combatible with "Kinect" which may well be Natal's retail title.

It kicks off saying 'presenting the new Xbox 360′ (in Italian, obviously).
It's tagline, 'Vivi Oggi', roughly translates as 'Live today'. Carpe Diem, me old mucker; Carpe Diem.
The rest roughly translates to say 'ready for the technology of tomorrow'.

Neighbors told firefighters that an elderly man who rarely comes outside lives at the home, but nobody was found inside the residence. Firefighters believe he may have been picked up by a family member before the fire began.

The blaze extended to all three floors of the home before it could be extinguished. Firefighters had to enter the home in order to put the fire out, and their efforts were hampered by a large amount of household contents, according to the release.

Jimmy Dean Dies At the age of 81 and Her Wife, She told The Associated Press that he had some health problems but was still functioning well, so his death came as a shock. She said he was eating in front of the television. She left the room for a time and came back and he was unresponsive. She said he was pronounced dead at 7:54 p.m.

Jimmy Ray Dean (August 10, 1928 – June 13, 2010) was an American country music singer, television host, actor and businessman. Although he may be best known today as the creator of the Jimmy Dean Sausage brand, he first rose to fame for his 1961 country crossover hit "Big Bad John"; and became a national television personality in the 1960s. His acting career included a supporting role in the 1971 James Bond movie, Diamonds Are Forever. He lived near Richmond, Virginia, and was inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame in 2010.

Musically, Dean is best known for his song "Big Bad John," which made it to No. 1 on both the country and pop charts in 1961 and won him a Grammy. He also had numerous other hits. Starting in 1963, he hosted a successful variety show on ABC called The Jimmy Dean Show, which ran three years.

The National Flag Day Foundation initiates fund raising efforts to support Bernard J. Cigrands' dream to fittingly commemorate the birthday of the American Flag. And to carry the message of our Flag to the future leaders of our great country – our youth.

In the United States, Flag Day is celebrated on June 14. It commemorates the adoption of the flag of the United States, which happened that day by resolution of the Second Continental Congress in 1777.

In 1916, President Woodrow Wilson issued a proclamation that officially established June 14 as Flag Day; in August 1949, National Flag Day was established by an Act of Congress.

Many people in the United States honor this day by displaying the American flag at homes and public buildings. Other popular ways of observing this holiday include: flag-raising ceremonies; Flag Day services; school quizzes and essay competitions about the American flag; musical salutes; street parades; and awards for special recognition.
