Miley Cyrus labeled jewelry is being traced from the shelves at Walmart — following news that the jewelry has high amounts of a poisonous metal. The step is in reaction to a recently highlighted countrywide check conducted for the Associated Press, in which many items from the Miley Cyrus jewelry line — sold out completely at Walmart — had a hazardous amount of cadmium … which can be very risky if consumed.

The AP notices that the jewelry is not known to be hazardous if generally worn — but specialists afraid that the cadmium can go into a person’s body if the jewelry is “sucked, bitten or swallowed.” As per the news, long-term revelation to cadmium can result in bone softening, kidney collapse & other harmful situations. The AP tells Walmart became conscious the jewelry had quantity of cadmium back in February, but even then continued sale out of the products anyway & until yet.

As per Walmart, the jewelry was “designed for and marketed to older audiences” and was “not intended for children.”  The company too alleges they will no longer sale the jewelry “while we investigate its compliance with our children’s jewelry standard.” Miley Cyrus' symbolized jewelry is being captured from the shelves at Walmart — following

Though the Pakistan Telecommunications Authority did not cite any speficic material or page on either YouTube or Facebook, but it eventually went forward to block the access to the whole sites calling them “growing sacrilegious contents.”

The Pakistani government welcomed representatives from both the sites to get together and reach a to a conclusion that “ensures religious harmony and respect.” But the conversation could not succeed and action was taken again the two websites.

Kites have evoked mixed responses among the movie lovers globally prior to its much awaited release across the world. Some attribute it as a roller coaster movie with execllent story line. The international version seems to be more impressive than the Hindi version considering the global appeal. For kites MP3 songs click here

A deviation from the conventionl song and dance Bollywood creations, 'Kites' is reportedly a new step into the international venue. Hrithik Roshan impresses with his all round performnace and displys terrific chemistry with his love interest, Barbara Mori. Bret Ratner's movie boasts of music by composer Graeme Revell, which is a mesmerising experience. The Hindi version directed by Anurag Basu too gained praises owing to its display of a variety of genres whether it be romance, music, or action. However it might seem hardly appealing to those who dislike romance. Click here for hot barbara mori wallpapers

The movie also recieves some serious criticism from a fraction of viewers. It is reported to be way below the international standards in cases of action display and too melodramatic. Lack of a proper story line and unimpressive performances by the lead actors have also been points of criticism. However, the overall response to the movie 'Kites' seem to be encouraging as it is given tag of being a thorough entertainer. Click here for kites movie wallpapers

Kites Movie: What Anurag Basu says over Sexy Barbara Mori?

Posted: 20 May 2010 12:35 AM PDT

Barbara

Barbara

Barbara Mori (Mexican beauty), who is coupled with Hrithik Roshan in ‘Kites‘, has been moving heads since the representative teaser of the movie emerged out but director Anurag Basu tells Mori was not employed for her sex appeal. Hrithik has frequently been matched with a Greek God by Bollywood fans & his chemistry with Mori has been a conversing point. The actor’s calmness with Mori even blew the gossips that his wedding with Suzzanne was in danger.

However, movie director Anurag Basu forces that ‘Kites’ is above than only a skin fest. He told regarding this “Of course, Barbara is attractive; we all know that. Still, it wasn’t just her sex appeal that made us sign her. She has done so much good work in films as well as on TV. I saw them and based on that, we decided that Barbara would be the right fit for ‘Kites’."

Basu knows that Mori is one of the most searched stars on internet recently, minimum in India, and viewer's anticipation is massive from the young woman who is a mother too of a kid in actual life. Basu further told "Yes, people do search for her pictures on internet. However, as a director I can vouch for the fact that she surprised when we were shooting the film. She has quite a few dramatic scenes in the film and I was wondering if she would be able to pull then off. But I was taken by surprise by her acting."

The director tells he was much influenced with Mori’s work that he is again considering some scenes that he had really written. Basu took decision to sizzle up the scene by again composing a few scenes & adding a separate thinking to them. Basu revealed “Really, I was blown over by the chemistry between Barbara and Hrithik. Some of the very scenes that originally looked great to me were seemingly fake once I saw the two on screen. I had to throw these scenes away and improvise at the last moment. Call it ironical but some of the best scenes in the film are those which were written at the very end. Hrithik and Barbara really look so real and good together.”

Basu, who previously deputed his 3 yrs on the Kites, tells shooting for the movie was a “great experience” but he ignored getting carried off. Basu told “Rather than feeling overtly elated, I used to tell myself right through the making of ‘Kites’ to not get carried away. I had great locales, the best art direction and the stars. I could shoot in as opulent manner as possible but I knew that I didn’t have to go away from the soul and character of the film. It happens so many times that due to the aspects as mentioned, a director gets greedy.” Kites Movie Review

Kites too has Kangna Ranaut in a unique appearance along with Kabir Bedi. The film too has melodious music of Rajesh Roshan & launches all over this Friday. Click here for hot barbara mori wallpapers

Kites is a tragic love story, entertaining and lovely to watch with your friends, or spouse. With Bárbara Mori, you can also expect some lovely influence from Mexican film and culture. Click here for kites movie wallpapers

In spite of its wide publicity in India and all over the world, it's very hard to say if it can draw the attention of the Indian audience, and no one is sure about its reviews. It has blend of three languages, Hindi, English and Spanish, and an equal use of all of them. And with this wide variety of tonal ranges, it has only one dance number, and that too in a dance contest, and so, it will majorly not have a lot to do with the ongoing story of the film. The Hindi movie viewers will also miss musical numbers which they generally expect when they sit in the cinema halls. But the good thing is that they will get a change of taste in the movie, and further elevate the standard of Bollywood. Click here for hot barbara mori wallpapers

To make it further acceptable by the international audience, a 90-minute (approx.) version of the movie, "Kites: The Remix" is being presented by Brett Ratner, with new music by Graeme Revell. This is likely to hit the silver screens on May 28, one week after the release of the original version of the film. For kites MP3 songs click here

New Delhi, May 20 (IANS) In a major breakthrough, the key accused in the Naval war room leak case Ravi Shankaran has been arrested in London.

Confirming Shankran’s arrest, a Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) spokesperson here said Shankaran was arrested by the London Police and is at present out on bail.

The CBI has initiated the legal process for his extradition, the spokesman said.

A close relative of former Naval chief Admiral Arun Prakash, 46-year old Shankaran, is accused of passing vital security information to arms dealers.

A Delhi court had declared him a proclaimed offender and issued Interpol notices against him in 2006.

Orissa evacuates 4,000 people due to cyclone Laila

Posted: 20 May 2010 02:16 AM PDT

Bhubaneswar, May 20 (IANS) Orissa Thursday evacuated nearly 4,000 people from three seaside villages and moved them to safer places amid fears of high tidal waves due to the severe cyclonic storm Laila formed over the Bay of Bengal, officials said.

The residents were moved from the villages located near the Bay of Bengal at Gopalpur in the southern district of Ganjam, some 170 km from here – which officials fear could be worst hit by the sea surges.

‘We have moved about 4,000 people from Ramiya Patna, Podampeta and another fishing village to nearby cyclone shelters,’ District Collector V.K.Pandian told IANS.

Hundreds of relief and rescue personnel also held drills in several places in Ganjam district as a part of their preparedness to fight the disaster, Special Relief Commissioner Nikunja Sundaray told IANS.

The state government has alerted all district administrations although the main impact of the cyclonic storm is likely on the coastal districts.

‘The impact may be on coastal districts,’ Sundaray said, adding that a few districts such as Gajapati and Ganjam may witness flash floods. Besides, the Chilika lagoon might see storm surges.

The Chilika lake, some 100 km from here, is spread across Puri, Khurdha and Ganjam districts along the east coast.

‘Overall about 30,000-40,000 people in the state, mostly in coastal districts, may get affected. All of them have been alerted. We are closely monitoring the situation and, if necessary, we will evacuate more and move them to cyclone shelters,’ Sundaray said.

He said that the state government has already deployed relief and rescue teams in all the vulnerable areas.

The meteorological centre here said the severe cyclonic storm formed over the Bay of Bengal crossed the Andhra Pradesh coast near Bapatla in Guntur district Thursday afternoon.

It is likely to weaken gradually and move initially in a northerly direction and then recurve in northeasterly direction towards Orissa.

Heavy to very heavy rain is likely to occur at a few places over southern and northern parts of Orissa during next 48 hours, it said.

‘We have issued advisory to the fishermen asking them not to venture into the sea as the condition of the sea will remain rough to very rough,’ a senior official of the centre said.

Kolkata, May 20 (IANS) The bodies of three Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) men, including a deputy commandant, who were killed in a landmine blast triggered by Maoists in West Midnapore Wednesday, were brought here Thursday and given the last salute by tearful colleagues.

The bodies of deputy commandant Vijay Pal Singh, and constables Rakesh Kumar and D. Ramesh were brought to the Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose International Airport here in flower-bedecked hearses in a procession.

While Vijay Pal Singh was from Rajasthan, Rakesh Kumar was from Punjab and Ramesh from Tamil Nadu. The bodies of two other paramilitary men – head constable Biswalochan Santra from Khandakosh in Burdwan district and constable D.K. Samanta from Orissa – also killed in the attack, have been sent to their homes by road.

At the airport, the coffins were placed on a makeshift platform outside the domestic terminal as senior CRPF officers led by eastern region Inspector General Nageshwar Rao paid their respects to the slain personnel by laying wreaths on the bodies and giving the last salute.

CRPF jawans, tears welling in their eyes, gave a guard of honour and reversed their guns as the bugle sounded the last post.

The coffins were put on flights to be carried to their respective homes away from the state.

Meanwhile, the condition of injured constable Naba Kumar Ghosh, admitted in the Intensive Care Unit of a private hospital in south Kolkata, was described by doctors as critical.

‘He is critical. He has a rib fracture. But he is not on life support system any more,’ a spokesman of the AMRI Hospital told IANS.

India seeks more private funds in scientific research

Posted: 20 May 2010 01:54 AM PDT

New Delhi, May 20 (IANS) India wants private sector to play an active role and invest more in scientific research and development, Minister of State for Science and Technology Prithviraj Chavan said Thursday.

‘We spend about one percent of our GDP on scientific research and development (R&D). Of this, three-fourth comes from the public sector. We want private sector’s active participation in this,’ Chavan told reporters here on the sidelines of an event organised by US aerospace major Lockheed Martin and industry association FICCI.

‘We are running many programmes under the public-private-participation (PPP) mode holding hands of private sector, but we want them to invest aggressively,’ he said.

Chavan said it would be difficult for the government to double the spending on the R&D to two percent of the GDP by next year.

In the budget, India has extended higher tax incentives to corporate houses that spend on in-house R&D and also to private scientists, he said.

‘We hope this will help. The government is doing all to nurture innovation. We need technology innovators and for this, we need to focus on R&D,’ he said.

Indo-US Science and Technology Forum executive director Arabinda Mitra also said India needs technology innovators. ‘Technology innovators can create silicon Valley in this Indus Valley (civilization).’
