Jessica Watson 16 Year Old Sailing Around The World Battle Winds

This leaves Australian Jessica Watson with no competition.  Make that:  No competition except for the Southern Ocean.  Watson is reporting another knockdown in the biggest seas she's witnessed yet, as she sails south of Australia, on the home stretch of her journey

Jessica Watson became the youngest person to sail around the globe solo, nonstop and unassisted when she cruised into Sydney Harbour in her pink, 34-foot (10-meter) yacht to a rock star welcome of thousands. She successfully maneuvered her boat through raging storms, 40-foot (12-meter) waves and seven knockdowns during the 23,000 nautical mile journey that critics thought she wouldn't survive.


She's quickly approaching the Australian state of Victoria now, and by her course, it looks as if she plans on taking Bass Straight and going inside Tasmania, rather than dipping below the South East Cape as her route predicted.  No doubt a prudent decision, as that big of a risk that close to her finish could prove disastrous.




Although the crowd enjoyed fine weather conditions along Sydney Harbor on Saturday, Watson had to battle winds up to 45 knots, making for rough conditions in her final stretch. She was also delayed by a torn mainsail.

Vampires are really getting popular in TV and cinemas nowadays and not only True Blood got its way up to popularity. Twilight Saga is one the example of movie that "clicks" to the taste of teens and adults to watch. Actually, four book of the series got itself into theaters. Right now, people are expecting the film adaptation of the "Eclipse" later this June 2010.

In the first episode of the season written by Brian Buckner and directed by Daniel Minahan, Sookie (Anna Paquin) is desperate to find Bill played by Stephen Moyer. Having proposed to Sookie, Bill has disappeared, abducted with a silver necklace and taken who knows where? To see the Queen perhaps? Meanwhile, the werewolves come to town.

After waiting for months, Sookie has finally returned on this all new True Blood Season 3 episodes. This first episode of this brand new season is entitled "Bad Blood". Recent Earthquakes in Southern California, San Diego

USGS geophysicist Dale Grant categorized the quakes as moderate and of similar strength to others felt frequently throughout Southern California, the Union-Tribune said.

Grant said the shaking was felt as far north as Anaheim. Several minor aftershocks were recorded in the 15 minutes after the initial quakes.

The 4.8-magnitude earthquake at 8.08 p.m. PDT (0308 GMT Sunday) was centered about 9 miles (15 kilometers) north-northwest of Borrego Springs, an unincorporated community in San Diego County. It struck about 3.6 miles (5.8 kilometers) deep, making it a shallow earthquake, according to the California Integrated Seismic Network.

The U.S. Geological Survey says the magnitude-4.4 quake struck at 8:08 p.m., about 10 miles north of Borrego Springs. Residents in downtown San Diego could feel the ground rumbling.

The West Coast and Alaska Tsunami Warning Center initially measured the strength of the earthquake at 4.8 on the Richter scale.

There were no immediate reports of damage or casualties from Saturday's earthquake, which was centered some 56 miles (89 kilometers) northeast of San Diego. People in San Diego reported feeling light shaking.

The Twilight Saga, written by author Stephanie Meyer and directed by David Slade, centers around the life of Isabella Swan, a young and socially awkward girl played by Kristen Stewart that moves from Phoenix to live with her father in Washington state. Bella, as she is affectionately known by her friends, is a quiet girl with low self esteem who tends to keep to herself at first. During her first days in her new school she encounters a young boy named Edward Cullen, played by Robert Pattinson, who she finds interesting. At first, Edward shuns and avoids her, making Bella feel even more self conscious about herself, but he eventually warms up to her and they become friends. Edward is adored by all the other girls in school and Bella cannot understand why he bothers to spend so much time around her.

Seeing "Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart dead" as one of the top searches on Google is definitely not shocking. There's plenty of people out there who can't stand Twilight or its young actors including Pattinson, Stewart and Lautner. Some wish the whole thing would just go away. Sorry folks it's not going anywhere soon. It's even been likened to Beatlemania due to the immense popularity of Twilight. The Twi-hards love it and it keeps growing bigger by the minute.

As fans around the world gear up to watch Twilight Eclipse this summer, the third movie in the Twilight Saga, the internet has become a buzz with all kinds of Twilight trivia, Twilight parodies, and Twilight rumors. It seems like every other day another supermarket tabloid releases a questionable "interview" with one of the stars of Twilight. Is Robert Pattinson dating Kristen Stewart? Puerto Rican Day Parade 2010

If last year was any indication, expect to see more than 80,000 people marching, and close to 3 million revelers lining the parade route for a major Puerto Rican love-fest.

The Puerto Rican Day Parade (also known as the National Puerto Rican Day Parade) takes place annually along Fifth Avenue in New York City, on the second Sunday in June, in honor of the nearly 4 million inhabitants of Puerto Rico and all people of Puerto Rican birth or heritage residing in the mainland U.S. In 2006, more than 80,000 participants marched and nearly 2 million spectators lined the parade route. The parade always attracts many celebrities, both Puerto Rican and of Puerto Rican heritage, and many politicians from the tri-state area.

The Puerto Rican Day parade will march along Fifth Avenue from 44th Street to 86th Street in New York City and is likely see people from a number of towns of Puerto Rico as well as states in the U.S.A.

Algeria The Team Is Ready

Algeria was originally inhabited by Berbers until the Arabs conquered North Africa in the 7th century. Staying mainly in the mountainous regions, the Berbers resisted the spreading Arab influence, managing to preserve much of their language and culture. They make up some 30% of the population.

Algerian independence movements led to the uprisings of 1954–1955, which developed into full-scale war. In 1962, French president Charles de Gaulle began the peace negotiations, and on July 5, 1962, Algeria was proclaimed independent. In Oct. 1963, Ahmed Ben Bella was elected president, and the country became Socialist. He began to nationalize foreign holdings and aroused opposition. He was overthrown in a military coup on June 19, 1965, by Col. Houari Boumédienne, who suspended the constitution and sought to restore economic stability. After his death, Boumédienne was succeeded by Col. Chadli Bendjedid in 1978. Berbers rioted in 1980 when Arabic was made the country's only official language. Algeria entered a major recession after world oil prices plummeted in the 1980s.

The Algeria national football team, nicknamed Les Fennecs (The Desert Foxes), is the national team of Algeria and is controlled by the Fédération Algérienne de Football. Algeria managed to qualify to two consecutive World Cups in 1982 and 1986. Algeria also won the Africa Cup of Nations once in 1990 when they hosted the tournament. In November 2009, Algeria beat North African rivals Egypt in a World Cup qualification tiebreaker to secure a place at the 2010 World Cup in South Africa.

The game itself was pretty dull, and Slovenia didn't look great until Algeria had a man sent off for two silly yellow cards (jersey pull and hand ball diving for a header)--within four minutes of coming on. Algeria looked liked they had the possession ability to gut out a tie, but once the goal went in that was all she wrote. One bright side for the United States is that the 1-0 score wasn't a huge difference in terms of goal differential tiebreakers (or goals scored) down the line.

Few cases have brought true affection and genuine appreciation for one's presence – and most of them were in the company of Browser, the mascot, pet and office mate of the folks over at Airfarewatchdog. High above the tower skyline of Manhattan we used to meet at the AFWD offices, productive music pumping and fares passing across keyboards of the talented, bargain searching staff.

Unfortunately, with planes so full this summer, it's unlikely that there will be an empty seat next to her, and if she buys a seat she'll have to pay the usual adult fare. Another thing to consider is the child's safety. Jets land at high speeds, usually in the 130 to 140 mph range, and they take off at even higher speeds. There's always the possibility of a sudden stop, and just as you wouldn't put an infant in your lap while traveling in a car even at much lower speeds (in fact, it's illegal in most jurisdictions), you shouldn't do so when traveling in a commercial airliner. In fact, we're surprised that it's still legal to do so. So we suggest putting infants in an approved child seat when flying. In addition to being safer, it will be more comfortable for both mother and child.

The corners are completely frayed and the retractable handle is fickle - sometimes it opens smoothly, sometimes not. Bud and I thought it would be easy to pick up a replacement, but nowadays finding the best bag can be a challenge.
