Watson is over 60 now, and ahead of youngsters such as Paul Casey, Brendan De Jonge, Matt Kuchar, and a host of very good PGA Tour players.

Thomas Sturges "Tom" Watson (born September 4, 1949) is an American professional golfer, who has played on the PGA Tour and now mostly on the Champions Tour.

I can only find him mentioned from the second round on (he starts out before round 2 at 100 to 1 and is now, prior to the final round, 11 to 2, but he never seemed to be mentioned specifically before the start of the tournament.

Watson didn't want that run to end Friday. This is his 31st U.S. Open and likely to be his last. He's the only man to compete in all five Pebble Beach Opens — 1972, '82 (which he won), '92, '00 and '10.

He is 60 years old and was quite emotional walking up to the 18th green with his son as his caddie this Father's Day. Watson won the U.S. Open in 1982 at Pebble Beach and is the only player to have played in all 5 Opens held there.

Billings Tornado Destroy businesses arena in Billings Mont.‎

The Billings Gazette reported a tornado that hit Billings, Mont on Sunday. In the report they mention the Rimrock Auto arena as one of the places that.

"It would touch down and suck back up and touch down and touch down again," he said.

Trees and telephone poles on the outside of the arena were snapped. Big pieces of metal could be seen hanging from power lines, and tangles of insulation and metal debris were strewn for hundreds of yards in the surrounding area.

Billings police Lt. Mark Cady said the only reported injury was from someone who got hit in the head by a hail stone. City officials were struggling to deal with power outages and flooding from the storm, which sent about 2 feet of water into many city streets.

In any other era the Portrush man would be the one hogging the headlines, although with his easy-going nature it's easy to suspect he's perfectly happy to leave the limelight to others.

No wonder, therefore, that the Americans have greeted the green invasion of their scoreboards this past month with all the enthusiasm of a riotous tee party: Padraig Harrington's victory in the Honda Classic a fortnight ago; Des Smyth's maiden win on the Seniors Tour the same day; Darren Clarke's eye-catching pants at Bay Hill last week, a triumph of sartorial inelegance. And then there's Graeme McDowell.



Graeme McDowell does this every year in early July. Not the fry bit, just the ferry bit. The week of the Scottish Open, he loads up the Range Rover on the Monday, drives the hour from Portrush to Larne, rolls onto P&O's finest for an hour and hey presto he has his own car in the drive for a fortnight. He has his clubs in the boot so he doesn't have to spend an hour and a couple of hundred quid dragging them through an airport even 29 year old multi-millionaires resent lining the anti-golfer pockets of Ryanair and Easyjet at this point and better yet, he can live out the next two weeks without being a slave to the rhythms of the tour. Logistics become a whole lot simpler when you're not relying on a courtesy car timetable.

Ernie Els and Gregroy Havret are tied for fourth at par, and Phil Mickelson had to settle for sixth place at plus one after a not-so-good round yesterday. Phil Mickelson seems to play brilliantly one day and poorly the next. If he follows that trend, he could wind up winning today.

Suez Canal US War Ships Using This Way

This canal is said to have been extended to the Red Sea by Ptolemy II Philadelphus (285-246 BC), abandoned during the early Roman rule, but rebuilt again by Trajan (98-117 AD) Over the next several centuries, it once again was abandoned and sometimes dredged by various rulers for various but limited purposes.

Amr Ibn el-As rebuilt the canal after the Islamic takeover of Egypt creating a new supply line from Cairo, but in 767 AD, the Abbasid caliph El-Mansur closed the canal a final time to cut off supplies to insurgents located in the Delta. Of course, over time, ships grew in size and so the ancient attempts to connect the two seas would not have worked anyway today.

The Suez Canal is an artificial sea-level waterway in Egypt, connecting the Mediterranean Sea and the Red Sea. Opened in November 1869, it allows water transportation between Europe and Asia without navigating around Africa. The northern terminus is Port Said and the southern terminus is Port Tawfik at the city of Suez. Ismailia lies on its west bank, 3 km (1.9 mi) north of the half-way point.

Built by the French-owned Suez Canal Co., it was completed in 1869 after a decade of construction.

The geographical position of the Suez Canal makes it the shortest route between East and West as compared with the Cape of Good Hope. The Canal route achieves saving in distance between the ports north and south of the Canal

"I don't love acting anymore so I've stopped doing it," she wrote on Twitter. A quick volley of tweets included further explanation: "Being an actress isn't as fun as it may seem" and "I've never written the movies & tv shows I've been apart of I've only acted like the characters the producers or directors wanted me to play."
