HULU Plus to offer subscription wherever, whenever than ever Posted: 29 Jun 2010 06:21 PM PDT HULU Plus to offer subscription wherever, whenever than ever If you are avid fan of some TV program and you have missed that program then you need not to worry about. Hulu is going to start its new subscription service in next few months through which by paying 10 dollars a month one would be able to watch the old programs. The HULU Plus service will offer “More Wherever. More Whenever. Than ever.” Subscriber of HULU Plus service would be able to watch the TV programs of their choice through Iphone, Multimedia Phone, Apple Ipad and other web connected devices. The programs offered through HULU Plus subscription would have the advertisements in the programs. HULU could have offered premium services in which programs without advertisement should have been available. But the Hulu find the feedback from the people that they want the cheaper services. People want subscription at lower cost whether the programs have advertisement or not. |

Haryana Vigilance Bureau caught red handed Inder Singh Rangi Posted: 29 Jun 2010 06:08 AM PDT Chandigarh, June 29: Haryana Vigilance Bureau has caught red handed Inder Singh Rangi, Assistant Manager, Accounts posted at Milk Plant, Ballabhgarh while accepting an illegal gratification of Rs. 3000 from Randhir Singh of Jawan, a resident of Jawan, police station Chhainsa in district Faridabad. While giving this information today, a spokesman of the Bureau said that a case has been registered against the accused under section 7 of Prevention of Corruption Act at Bureau's Police Station, Gurgaon. Further investigation of the case was in progress, he added. |
Rithoj in district Gurgaon, whole panchayat elected un opposed Posted: 29 Jun 2010 06:07 AM PDT Chandigarh, June 29 – Village Rithoj in district Gurgaon is unique in the way that the whole panchayat in this village is elected un opposed. This is not for the first time that the sarpanch and panches have been elected unopposed, the villagers have been doing so for the last 35 years, that is, since 1975. This time also the villagers have elected Smt Santosh as sarpanch unanimously. Total 18 candidates had filed nominations for the post of sarpanch in this village but 17 withdrew their nominations on Monday when the villagers decided to keep their tradition of electing the sarpanch and panches unanimously without going for elections. The gurjar dominated village Rithoj which falls in Sohna block of district Gurgaon has presented an example of brotherhood. Meanwhile, as many as 117 candidates in fray for ten seats of Gurgaon Zila Parishad after the withdrawl of nominations. These candidates have been allotted symbols and they have started compeering for the elections scheduled to be held on 6th July. The Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) is contesting the panchayat elections on its party symbol and it has fielded two candidates for Gurgaon Zila Parishad, one candidate is in ward number 1 while the other is in ward number 7. All other candidates are contesting as independents. A total of 65 women candidates are contesting the Zila Parishad elections in district Gurgaon. The women have out numbered the men here as only 52 men are in the fray. A total of 168 candidates had filed their nominations for the ten wards of Gurgaon Zila Parishad, out of which one nomination was rejected during the scrutiny. On Monday, 50 candidates withdrew their nominations, leaving 117 candidates in fray. A maximum of 16 candidates are in ward number 7 while ward number 6 has 15 candidates. Similarly, ward number 1 has 9 candidates, ward number 2 has 14, ward number 3 has 13, ward number 4 has 12, ward number 5 has least 7 number of contesting candidates. Ten candidates are contesting in ward number 8 where nobody withdrew on Monday and ward number 9 has 11 candidates. Ward number 10 has 10 candidates in the fray. The ward number 2, 6, and 10 are reserved for women from general category while the ward number 8 is reserved for women from Scheduled Caste category. In Panchayat samities, 185 candidates out of 622 withdrew their nominations on Monday in four blocks of the district. Now, there are 437 candidates in the fray for panchayat samities. A total of 629 candidates had filed nominations till 24th June, out of which 7 nominations were rejected during scrutiny. |
CCSHAU Hisar organizing training programme on Bee Keeping Posted: 29 Jun 2010 06:06 AM PDT Chandigarh, June 29 –The Agricultural Technology and Training Institute of Chaudhary Charan Singh Haryana Agricultural University (CCSHAU), Hisar will organize a training programme on Bee Keeping from July 1 to 3 for the farmers and unemployed youth of the state. While giving this information today, a spokesman of the University said that detailed information regarding bee keeping would be provided to the participants during the training. Information about how to get the loan from Government and Cooperative banks would also be provided to the participants so as to enable them take up their own venture. He said that those desirous of undergoing training could contact the office of Agricultural Technology and Training Institute, situated at Kisan Ashram of the University, on July 1 at 7 a.m. to participate in the training programme. UHBVN to relax the existing norms for benefitting a larger number of farmers Posted: 29 Jun 2010 06:03 AM PDT Chandigarh, June 29 – In view of the demand raised by farmers to replace the stolen transformers installed under Self Execution Scheme and High Voltage Distribution scheme, the Uttar Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam (UHBVN) has decided to relax the existing norms thus benefitting a larger number of farmers whose transformers had been stolen. While stating this here today, Managing Director, of UHBVN, Mr Arun Kumar said that it was mandatory for the contractor to ensure proper welding of the transformers with the system to avoid their theft. It was observed that most of the transformers had been stolen from the locations where the contractors did not work properly. In such cases, the Nigam would replace the transformers, but the contractors would be held responsible for not providing proper safety measures. It has also been decided that the Junior Engineers and Sub-Divisional Officers would be directed to explain their position for clearing the installation without ensuring welding of the transformers. The permission to replace the stolen transformers departmentally would be given by the Chief Engineer Operation on the merit of each case. The Sub Divisional Officer or the consumer concerned would be required to lodge the First Information Report with the police for getting the transformer replaced. Mr Kumar further stated that hundreds of transformers in district Karnal, Kurukshetra, Kaithal and other paddy areas have been reported stolen. The Nigam plans to recover the amount of transformers from the erring contractors. Earlier, he held a meeting with senior officers of the Nigan of district Kurukshetra and discussed various issues including power supply position. He said that it was the priority of the Nigam to ensure reliable and uninterrupted power supply to the consumers during the ongoing paddy season. Bijli Baithak for prompt redressal of consumer’s grievances by DHBVN Posted: 29 Jun 2010 06:01 AM PDT Chandigarh, June 29 – For prompt redressal of consumers' grievances, the Dakshin Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam (DHBVN) will organize 'Bijli Baithak' at Sub Division Office, Chautala in district Sirsa tomorrow. While stating this today, a spokesman of the Nigam said that the meeting would be held under the chairmanship of General Manager of the Nigam where concerned Deputy General Manager, other officers and officials of the Nigam would be present along with essential record to redress grievances of groups of people as well as individuals. He said that registration of grievances would commence at 10 a.m. and the complaints and grievances would be attended on first come first serve basis. All types of complaints including correction in electricity bills, meter reading, change of meter, new connection, repair or change of electricity poles and wires and electricity supply would be redressed in the meeting. |
Indian wrestler Chandgi Ram died Posted: 29 Jun 2010 06:00 AM PDT Chandigarh, June 29 – Haryana Chief Minister, Mr Bhupinder Singh Hooda has expressed deep sorrow and grief over the sad demise of renowned Indian wrestler Chandgi Ram. In a condolence message issued here today, Mr Hooda said that the recipient of Arjuna and Padma Shri awards, Chandgi Ram was a great wrestler who always kept the flag of Indian wrestling flying high at international championships. He said that Chandi Ram would be long remembered for his contribution to wrestling. The Chief Minister conveyed heartfelt sympathies to the members of the bereaved family and prayed that the departed soul might rest in peace. Popularly known as Master Chandgi Ram, the noted wrestler was born on November 9, 1937 at village ‘Sisai’ in district Hisar. He served as Additional Director of Sports in Haryana and titles like ‘Hind Kesari’, ‘Bharat Kesari’, ‘Bharat Bhim’, ‘Rustom-e-Hind’ and ‘Maha Bharat Kesari’ were conferred upon him. He had also set up an akhara to train budding wrestlers. The most impressive feat of his international career was the 1970 Asian Games in Bangkok. Competing in the 100-kg class, he defeated the World Champion Amvani Abuifazi of Iran to claim a Gold Medal for the country. Two years later he represented India in the 1972 Olympic Games at Munich in Germany. |
Convergence Approach to Prevention of Bondage workshop Posted: 29 Jun 2010 05:58 AM PDT Chandigarh, June 29 – Haryana Labour Department has decided to organize a workshop in collaboration with Union Ministry of Labour and International Labour Organisation (ILO) on "Convergence Approach to Prevention of Bondage" on July 1, 2010. Haryana Labour and Employment Minister, Mr Mahender Partap Singh will preside over the workshop. While stating this here today, a spokesman of the Department said that in the just concluded 99th Annual Session of International Labour organization held at Geneva from June 2 to June 18, 2010, the State of Haryana was represented by the officers of Labour Department. They also participated in the discussions held with the officers of ILO, at the initiative of Union Ministry of Labour and Employment. As a follow up to the discussions held in the session, the decision to organize the workshop on "Convergence Approach to Prevention of Bondage" had been taken. He said that the board objective of the workshop would be to find innovative solutions to ensure the inclusion of the poor and vulnerable workers in the developmental initiatives of the Government, thereby, preventing economic compulsions and bonded conditions. The stake holders and the officers of various Departments involved in socio-economic development would deliberate on the working conditions of the poor and vulnerable in the unorganized sectors, the social safety-net that need to be provided to them by dovetailing the existing governmental schemes and welfare measures identified in reaching out to the largely migrant workforce and gather inputs for strengthening the relevant legislations and policies. He said that the conclusions of the workshop would be considered for convergence of action to provide for socio-economic development of the lowest strata of the society and migrant labour in Haryana. He said that in addition to the representatives of ILO, Union Ministry of Labour and Employment, National Human Rights Commission, various Departments of Haryana Government and representatives of Labour Department of neighboring States, representative of workers as well as of Recruitment Associations, NGOs, Bankers, Insurance Companies who were concerned to strengthen the welfare schemes and Labour Legislations would also participate in this workshop. |
Jan Chetna Kendras would be set up in each village of district Hisar Posted: 29 Jun 2010 05:55 AM PDT Chandigarh, June 29 – With a view to encourage the youth to make their significant contribution in various socials works, Jan Chetna Kendras would be set up in each village of district Hisar. This was stated by Mr Y S Khaliya, Deputy Commissioner, Hisar while presiding over a meeting of district advisory committee of Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangthan at Hisar today. He urged that each citizen should plant atleast one tree to increase the green cover . For the purpose, he directed the concerned officers to provide five lakh plants under Mahatma Gandhi Rural Employment Scheme. While stressing on the need to ensure the participation of youth for the implementation of various government schemes, he said that yuva clubs and non–government organizations could play a vital role in effective implementation of the schemes aimed at checking female feticide, motivating the people to donate blood voluntarily and implementation of total sanitation prorammes.
