PSLV C15 Rocket Launched By ISRO in Sriharikota successfully Posted: 12 Jul 2010 01:30 AM PDT PSLV C15 Rocket launched successfully by "Indian Space Research Organization" [ISRO] on Monday in Sriharikota spaceport. The "Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle" (PSLV) launched into 'orbit remote sensing satellite' Cartosat-2B & 4 additional satellites. K Radhakrishnan, ISRO Chairman said, "I am extremely happy to say that PSLV C-15 was a successful launch". "All the satellites were injected precisely," he further added. Montek Singh Ahluwalia, Planning Commission Deputy Chairman said, "This is the first time I am actually seeing a launch.. not just from the Control Centre but also rushed out to get a visual (of the PSLV soaring into the skies)… wonderful experience". 44 meters high PSLV 15 flied with the 5 satellites jointly weighing 819 kilograms, from Sriharikota. The major cargo, Cartosat-2B was 694 kilograms. At the finish of an over fifty one hours countdown, the 44.4 meter-high 4-stage PSLV-C-15, that costs Rupees 260 crore, take off from a launchpad with explosion of the core 1st stage & positioned the satellites in orbit 1 following the other. |
