| SLS-AMG ARRIVES IN THE INDIAN MARKET Posted: 17 Jul 2010 02:52 AM PDT  SLS-AMG New Delhi: The SLS-AMG, a 6300cc sports car, and the latest in the car market, speeds from 0-100 in merely 3.8 seconds. Around a 100 have already been sold. Inspite of its price flying high across the sky, which would be around Rs. 2 crores, it still has 0 effects on its demand. As soon as the car arrived in India the merc-benz mania has driven all the car lovers even crazier. Mercedes Benz possesses style with performance. Usually other cars fail to deliver all aspects, but this one promises to satisfy even the littlest bit of aspirations from its customers. Wilfred Aulbur, MD of Mercedes-Benz India, agrees “Its the ultimate statement in style and performance”. It was also displayed in the 2010 Delhi Auto Expo, this January, which had started it all. Since then, SLS-AMG, which has the capability of a top speed of 317, has been a much awaited car. “Even at this steep price, it was not difficult to find buyers for this car as its breathtaking design and performance features are something that just sweep you off the floor,” Aulbur added. SLS-AMG has an aluminum body shell which makes it lighter in weight in comparison to other cars. Audi R8 and Porsche 911 Turbo come in stiff competition with this SLS-AMG. “The demand has been phenomenal, and while we have already sold 10 cars in just a few months of its unveiling, the interest has been strong that gives us the confidence that sales will be higher next year.” It seems though that it was not very easy for Mercedes to get allotments for our market due to its popularity and liumited production. "We had to fight hard to get substantial numbers for the initial allotments for the Indian market,” said Aulbur. “The deliveries of the first lot of 10 cars will be made before December this year," says Debashish Mitra, , sales & marketing director for Mercedes-Benz India. | ||
