Udaan receives Amitabh Bacchan’s appreciation

Udaan a film by Vikramaditya Motwane has earned bundles of appreciation by the Mega star of Bollywood Amitabh Bacchan who knows Vikramaditya as his son Abhishek Bacchan's school mate.

Vikramaditya Motwane's only prior work experience has him being an assistant to the famous director Sanjay Leela Bhansali. Amitabh commented on his blog bigb.bigadda.com that he is taken a back by the maturity and effort Vikramaditya has put into the direction of this improbable script even though he is very young and inexperienced to bring forth such an intensified sensitivity in the content.

He added: “In all the noise and thunder of the popular cinema now prevalent, this film comes as a fresh breeze of air. Its simplicity is brimming over with the intensity of its content.”

The film Udaan released this Friday, stars actors like Ronit Roy, Rajat Barmecha, Aayan Boradia and Ram Kapoor in the lead roles and has incurred positive critic reviews. The story moves around a rebellious child who is given an expulsion from his boarding school and is therefore sent back to Jamshedpur to live along with his oppressive father who is a thorough authoritarian.

Amitabh Bacchan further on commented that the movie received personal acclaim from many other artists including Shabana Azmi.

He believed that all the appreciation and liking that the film received from all corners is something the director of this movie well deserves. He also recognized the input that was met into the performance of every artist in this film.

Rain wreaks havoc around states of Punjab and Haryana

Incessant rain hit Haryana and Punjab today that is the 20th of July, even though different areas of these 2 states are suffering immensely under the present consequences of floods that are sweeping down everything and have eventually claimed 51 deaths in the region.

One of the most badly affected Haryana districts, Fatehabad held a record for 47 mm of rain fall while another district Rewari received 78 mm of heavy downpour.

Other places in the state that were affected by a downpour are Narnaul with an estimate rainfall of 115 mm while Sonepat recorded 95 mm of rains, areas here that are below the normal sea level stand completely deluged under water, places of Gurgaon district like Tohana recorded 50 mm of rains, Karnal experienced 58.4 mm, Rohtak had 19.1 mm, Panchkula received scanty rains of around 10mm while Panipat had 47 mm.

Other areas like Chandigarh also underwent a rain spell and experienced moderate rainfall of around 14.7 mm of downpour. In states like Punjab, the most badly rain struck district was Patiala which was has been flooded after receiving 43.2 mm of down pour today.

Even states like Ludhiana, Punjab has been completely washed down by the heavy rains.

RELIANCE INFRASTUCTURE RISING ON TOP WITH THE DELHI-AGRA HIGHWAY PROJECT

NEW DELHI : The Anil Dhirubhai Ambani Group Firm Reliance Infrastructure has taken up the project for building the Delhi-Agra highway which costs around ` 3,000 crore. The agreement has been made with the National Highways Authority of India.

On getting the project'We are proud to win the prestigious Delhi-Agra road project and sign the concession agreement.

We stand committed to develop and deliver world class road projects for the nation. With the addition of Delhi Agra project, we will now emerge as the largest infrastructure company , delivering 1,000 kms in a span of two years,' RInfra CEO & Director Lalit Jalan said.

"R-Infra has signed a concession agreement for six-laning of the 180-km stretch of the Delhi-Agra road project," the company said.

The Delhi-Agra Project would take around three years to be completed.

Eleven road projects are already in their hands combining the length of 970 km with the expenditure of ` 12,000 crore.

Reliance Infrastructure is emerging as the largest developer of six-lane road projects with three six-laning projects already in the process of development.

"RInfra has already emerged as one of the largest developers of road and highway projects. We will maintain our leadership position in the road sector and will look for various opportunities available across the country," said Lalit Jalan, director of Reliance Infrastructure.

Priyadarshan’s latest movie, KHATTA MEETHA, has already started running on the lines of controversy, even before its release. KHATTA-MEETHA is one of the most awaited movies of this summer, holding real life situations which could double you up in laughter.

The CBFC had already cleared the movie on july 13 and gave it a thumbs up. However a scene in the movie, which shows an elephant pulling the road roller, has been objectionable to some part of the Censor Board of Film Certification (CBFC).

The complainant wanted the scene to be removed from the movie, which may have resulted in delay in the dispatch of foreign prints. But thankfully, it got solved soon and there will be no further complications.

The PR of the movie said "Yes there was a small issue but it has been sorted now. In fact the overseas prints have also been delivered.”

Nishant Patel, Youth Congress leader, goes missing

HARDOI, JUL 20 : The manager of the hotel and a Congress leader along with three others were detained by the Uttar Pradesh Police for interrogation for the case of missing Youth Congress leader, Nishant Patel.

Nishant is the in-charge of Mishrikh parliamentary constituency Youth Congress organisational election and a member of the Rahul Gandhi Youth team. He went missing from his hotel from yesterday morning and has not been seen since.
K L Meena, Inspector General Police (IG) of Lucknow had also been spotted last night for interrogating some people in this regard.

Amongst the five people detained by the Uttar Pradesh Police were Amit, manager of the hotel, Congress leader Vikram Pandey, a security guard from the hotel and two others.

Nishant is the son of a former Gujrat minister. He had come to conduct the elections and was also a very close student to Rahul Gandhi, Congress General Secretary. He was staying in a hotel when he was reported missing.

ASP said that a case has been filed and soon there will be a search operation for Nishant Patel.

Sukhwant Singh, Hardoi election in-charge, registered the case in which he stated that Nishant Patel was missing whereas his luggage and phone still lie in his room.

NEW DELHI : Bharti Airtel is soon going to launch the iPhone 4, one of the hottest selling gadgets in the market by October.

“We are working with Apple. Hopefully, we will launch it in the September-October timeframe,” Bharti Airtel CEO Sanjay Kapoor said so in a press conference.

Airtels competitor, Vodaphone Essar, has already spoken of its plans, in early June, of launching the new iPhone. Though they did not mention the time frame, sources say so ould happen by September.

Airtel has been selling iPhone 3 GS in India pricing them around ` 35,500 and ` 41,500 for the 16 GB model and 32GB model respectively.

With the 3 G technology getting a boost in India, so would get the devices. This would encourage the sale of 3G enabled phones.

The iPhone 4 is going to be a major buy in India too as it has been selling as Apple’s best product.

The iPhone 4 claims to have a sharper screen and video-chat features.

TRAIN ACCIDENT HAPPENED BECAUSE THE RED SIGNAL WAS VIOLATED

The driver of the train Uttar Banga Express was aware of the fact that there was another train, Vanachal Express, already standing on that unfortunate track and was given a red signal which had been completely ignored, says the signal-in-charge, Rehmat Ali, of the Sainthia station.

The accident happened on Tuesday when Uttar Banga Express came with high speed colliding with Vanachal Express, which was standing stationery on the same track.

“I am sure that the signal was red. But the driver violated the red signal and entered the platform. No one in Uttarbanga Express, neither the driver nor the guard contacted me saying that brake was not working,” he said.

The station master had made him aware over his Walkie Talkie about Vanachal Express already standing on the track and asked him to stop the train giving him a red signal.

“But he got no response and within 30 seconds, the two trains collided,” he said.

A few moments before the unfortunate happened, within 30 seconds the station master got a call from the voice cabin that the next train, Uttar Banga, has been spotted entering the Sainthia station platform.

Delhi woke to an amazing raining Tuesday when it rained in many parts across Delhi.  Thundershowers will rock throughout the day according to the weather office.
According to the claim of an official of the India meteorological Department, from Monday till 8.30 on Tuesday, Delhi had already received 14.4 mm of rain.

The official continued “Skies will remain cloudy with the possibility of one or two spells of thundershowers.”

There was a change recorded in the temperatures where the minimum temperature was recorded at 25.6 degrees, Celsius which was 1.4 notches higher than the average temperature. The official further claimed that the maximum temperatures will probably be around 35 degrees.

It started raining in Delhi on Monday night which was eight days late since the monsoon hit on the July 5.

The meteorological official said, "The rains began in Delhi on July 5. On July 7, there was heavy rain. But then the rain stopped from July 8. The showers started again Monday night.”

According to the statistics Delhi has already received 174mm of rain since July 5 till Monday which is accordingly 90 percent more than the usual rain for this particular time of the year.

The rain in Delhi has already affected the traffic in many parts of NCR which includes areas like Shankar Chowk ,Gurgaon and Udyog Vihar. And then Sangam Vihar and Badarpur Road were also flooded because of rain water.
