Vodaphone 247, solar phone, priced at Rs 1500 Posted: 28 Jul 2010 05:08 AM PDT A solar mobile phone, called VF 247, has been launched by Vodaphone Essar. This mobile phone would charge itself in the sun. The phone would exclusively be a success in India. This is because India is a hot country in most parts. And power supply is already a problem. The prices would be comparatively very less, somewhere around 1,500, as the rural people are being targeted as the buyers. Last year in June, Samsung had also released Solar Guru, which consumed solar power for charging. Its price in the market was Rs 2,799. But unfortunately, it did not survive much in the market. Consumers are sick of phones getting discharged while talking and the market demands more than it is being provided with. So these days, mobile production companies are trying to increase the battery life of mobile phones. That is why, solar operated mobile phones have good chances at being successful. Vodafone 247 would charge under the sun’s rays as well as has the facilty to be charged with electricity. The phone would provide facilities like FM radio, colored screen and and a torch too. Marten Pieters, MD and CEO of Vodafone Essar says "Vodafone’s solar powered phone is launched for people residing in areas where electric supply is unstable, so that consumers can rely on solar charging to remain connected. This launch is likely to enable more people in rural India to go mobile and thus increase penetration from the current 20 percent. We will continue to invest to uplift the quality of telecom services and products in India,"

ONCE UPON A TIME IN MUMBAI faces its next legal trouble Posted: 28 Jul 2010 02:28 AM PDT
ONCE UPON A TIME has already faced enough troubles before its release. But if that was not enough, Shamshad Supariwala, daughter of Haji Mastan, has held a petition against producer Ekta Kapoor regarding the movie’s character, Shoaib Khan. It is not a secret anymore that the movie is actually based on Dawood Ibrahim and Haji Mastan’s life story. Shamshad says that her father was neither gangster nor a smuggler. He was a good person, involved in social work and politics of the country. Releasing the movie as it is would defame the family. More, she wishes that the movie be first screened by Ekta Kapoor and Sunil Shetty, producers of the movie, so that the objectionable scenes can be deleted. Ekta’s laywers think that it might be their strategy to squeeze out money from the producers. Mastan’s adopted son, Suleiman had also issued a case against the movie in Mumbai. The petition is supposed to come out by Wednesday. Click here for Mp3 songs
The King Shah Rukh Khan Bows To Uddav Thackeray Posted: 28 Jul 2010 02:01 AM PDT It seems that friendships and enmities are only temporary in Bollywood and Politics. So in a striking gesture Shar Rukh Khan, the King of Bollywood bowed down to the dada of Mumbai politics, Uddav Thackeray and published a half page advertisement in his newspaper Saamna, wishing him on his birthday. It would not have been this stunning had no hue cry been raised and no fire spit back and forth between Uddav and Khan, when MNIK was to release. It will be remembered that Khan had said he had no problem with Pakistani players playing in the IPL, which had to Sena displaying it’s wrath on him and causing trouble and obstacles for MNIK to release. Khan had at that time refused to apologize, but now this gesture shows that he has bowed down. However counter reports say that the ad was printed on behalf of his production house and that he has no idea about it as he is out of the country at the moment.

Emami Infrastructure Ltd. shares slashed down 86 per cent after listing Posted: 28 Jul 2010 01:11 AM PDT On listing day Emami Infrastructure shares crashed, evoking doubtful gesture regarding matters like price manipulation & transparency. Today Emami Infrastructure Ltd, which has been made from parent company, which is FMCG major Emami Ltd, commenced trading on the national bourses & during early trading hours kicked up quite stormily. As Emami Infrastructure Listing shares opened with high mark as 598.80 INR on National Stock Exchange (NSE), but finally it slashed down to 86.0 INR within an hour, which explains that Emami Infra shares dropped of 86 %. The entire traded volume was approx. 8.9 million shares on NSE. Where as, in the meantime, on Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE), Emami Infra shares opened at 250 INR, climbing a high of 293 INR & then crashing to a low point of 86 INR. The entire traded volume on BSE was approx. 5.8 million shares. When the time of writing came in for Emami Infrastructure listing, Emami Infra’s shares were trading 102 INR on both stock exchanges: BSE & NSE. The untamed fluctuations in the Emami Infrastructure share price & filling up hole among the opening high price & day’s low price, in such a petite span of time, heaved a lot of suspicion. Surely, so much manipulation must have been carried out surrounding this stock which begs intervention from regulatory. The listing was conducted following the grant from shareholders’ wherein 1 Emami Infrastructure share would be issued for every 3 Emami shares, whereas 14 Emami shares of 2 INR each would be issued for every 1 Zandu share of 100 INR apiece.

The special guest for the show this week was Shivaji Satam aka ACP Pradhyuman of the famous CID fame running on Sony channel for quite some time. The special guest enjoyed the show and the performances of the top five contestants thoroughly. Our resources from the TV world informed us, "The theme for the episode was ‘Raaz’. While Bhoomi gave a sensational rendition of ‘Yeh Raat’, Sreeram’s ‘Aaj Ki Raat’ was mind blowing. Shivam Pathak sang ‘Gumnaam Hai Koi’ in typical style and Swaroop Khan mesmerized all with his ‘Jahan Teri Yeh Nazar Hai’. Rakesh sang the number ‘Aaja Gufawon Mein Aa' ". The trusted source also claimed, "Bhoomi who is the sole girl contestant in the show reached the Top Four along with Sreeram and Rakesh. Shivam and Swaroop found themselves in the bottom two. The junta favoured Swaroop, and Shivam was the unlucky contestant to have lost it out at such a crucial phase of the show. The judges were extremely shocked to see Shivam bowing out. Annu Malek and Salim promised Shivam a song each in their next movie”.
