Haryana State Fee Committee has fixed the Tuition Fee for professional courses

Chandigarh, July 4– The Haryana State Fee Committee has fixed the Tuition Fee (Annual), Development Fund (Annual), Student Fund (Annual), Caution Money (One time) for all self financing B.Tech/B.Arch/Fashion & Apparel /MBA /MCA/B.Pharma/BHM&CT/Diploma Courses in the State.

While stating this here today, an official spokesman said that the fee would be payable semester-wise and not for entire year. Guidelines had also been issued for charging other funds, such as – hostel and mess charges, charges for transport, insurance and uniform, etc.

He said that Rs. 45,000 per student could be charged for Hostel & Mess charges, which shall include lodging, boarding, water & electricity, reading room, computer, work station, gym and sports/necessary furniture & furnishings. However, there could be a variation of 10 per cent depending upon locale and specific demands. Laundry and Canteen, etc. would be on actual basis and optional. Cost of A.C. room would be separate which could be on an average Rs. 9,000 to 10,000 extra, he added.

The spokesman said that Transport charges could be as per actuals. However, not beyond Government fare per km.+ upto 50 per cent. University/Board and Examination fee, insurance fee could be as per actual. The cost of Prospectus should not be more than Rs. 500 and charges for Placement Brochure should not be more than Rs. 500. Rs 3,000 could be charged as uniform which shall include one Blazer, two trousers, two shirts, one tie and two socks. Subsequent requirement would be optional and chargeable.

He said that additional charges for items like generator, internet (Wi-Fi), Book Bank (minimum 3 books) EDP., etc. might be taken only if these facilities were provided. However, it should not be more than 5% of the sum total of the tuition fee + development fund and proportionately less as decided by State Fee Committee.

The spokesman said that every institute was required to fix all the charges accordingly and reflect in their prospectus & on their website and must necessarily submit a copy of prospectus and placement brochure with State Fee Committee. If any institute was found overcharging on any account, the same may immediately be brought to the notice of the State Fee Committee, he added.


UHBVN to redress grievances of consumers promptly

Chandigarh, July 4– To redress grievances of consumers promptly, the Uttar Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam (UHBVN) will organize ‘Bijli Sabhas ‘ in district Ambala, Yamuna Nagar, Kurukshetra, Kaithal, Karnal,
Panipat, Rohtak, Jhajjar, Sonipat and Jind on July 5. The Bijli Sabha will be held at Operations Sub Division Kalka on July 8 in which the electricity
consumers of district Panchkula would be able to present the complaints for early redressal.

Stating this here today, a spokesman of the Nigam said that Superintending Engineers of operation wing would be present and efforts would be made by them to redress grievances ‘on the spot’ relating to sub divisional, divisional and circle level offices. The Sabhas would start at 10 a.m. on the fixed date and the complaints and grievances would be attended on first come first serve basis. All type of complaints including meter reading, correction of bill, change of meter, new connection, replacement of electric installations, system improvement, power supply, etc. of the consumers would be redressed.

He said that the Nigam had also directed the Executive Engineers to hold Bijli Sabhas every month in the operation sub-divisions in their jurisdiction on rotational basis. It would help timely redress of electricity complaints of consumers. The cases attracting action at higher level would be referred to the headquarters concerned.

The spokesman stated that the Nigam had launched a defaulting amount recovery campaign in its command area. Superintending Engineers and Executive Engineers had been directed to identify the defaulters and personally ensure temporary/ permanent disconnection of power supply as per rules. This would help boost morale of the employees already involved in recovery of defaulting amount.

According to reports the senior officers of the Nigam in field had started the campaign and disconnections had been made by the staff in their presence. Many non-payers deposited on the spot payment of their outstanding electricity bills to avoid disconnections, he added.


Voters would have to produce their Electoral Photo Identity Cards in Panchayat Elections: SEC Haryana

Chandigarh, July 4– Mr Dharam Vir, State Election Commissioner, Haryana today said that voters would have to produce their Electoral Photo Identity Cards issued by the Election Commission of India to establish their identity when they come to the polling station for exercising their franchise in the general elections of Panchayati Raj Institutions on July 6 and 10.

He said that if any elector had not been issued electoral photo identity cards by the Election Commission of India, he/she would have to produce a document, such as – Passport, Driving License, Income Tax Identity (PAN) Card, Service Identity Card issued to employees by Central/State Government Offices, Public Sector Undertakings, Local Bodies or other public Limited Company, Pass Book of accounts, having photograph, opened in a scheduled bank or post office, Freedom Fighter Identity Card having photograph, SC/ST/OBC certificate having photograph, issued by competent authority, Certificate of Physical Handicap having photograph issued by the Competent Authority, Arms License having photograph, Job Cards with photograph issued under the National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme, Property documents with photographs such as Pattas, Registered Deeds etc, Pension Documents such as Ex-Servicemen Pension Book/Pension Payment Order, Ex-Servicemen's Widow/Dependent Certificate, Old Age Pension Order, Widow Pension Order, with photograph, Health Insurance Scheme Smart Cards with Photograph and Ration Cards or any other similar documents establishing the identity of the electors to the satisfaction of the Presiding Officer, having photograph.

In case of an odd elector who does not have any of the above cards would be allowed to vote, if he/she was able to establish his/her identity to the satisfaction of the Presiding Officer and such other Polling Officer authorized by the Presiding Officer in this behalf, he added.

It may be mentioned that the General Elections of Panchayati Raj Institutions in the remaining eight districts of the State i.e. Panchkula, Yamunanagar, Karnal, Panipat, Rohtak, Rewari, Gurgaon and Hisar are being held on July 6 and 10.


UHBVN facilitating the permanent defaulter consumers to get reconnected

Chandigarh, July 4– Making the payment of defaulting amount easier and facilitating the permanent defaulter consumers to get reconnected their connections, the Uttar Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam (UHBVN) has decided to allow the permanent disconnected defaulting consumers to pay outstanding defaulting amount in three installments. Their disconnected connections will be released again on payment of first installment along with the Application and Agreement (A&A) form.

Stating this here today, a spokesman for the Nigam said that as a large number of applicants were coming forward for connections in permanent defaulting premises but were not able to afford payment of the defaulting amount in one-go. Considering persistent demand of such applicants, UHBVN had decided to allow the payment in three equal installments. Connection would be released on payment of first installment while the consumer will be required to pay second and third installments with first and second bills.

The applicant would have to give an undertaking on affidavit for making regular payment of installments including current monthly or bimonthly bill. However, such consumers would have to pay all the charges applicable for reconnection or new connection as per existing instructions of the Nigam. The reconnection or new connection would be released by maintaining separate seniority, he added.

He said that the reconnection of permanent defaulters in respect of theft cases would be considered only on deposit of lump-sum compounding amount along with first installment of outstanding defaulting amount.

Nigam had authorised its executive engineers to allow the part payment to such applicants. However, for High Tension (HT) consumers part payment would be allowed by the superintending engineer concerned. It would be responsibility of the executive engineer to ensure that such consumers were making the payment timely along with their energy bills. In case of non-payment the connection would be disconnected immediately.

The spokesman stated that the scheme would be available to those applicants also whose cases were pending with the courts and they were ready to withdraw their cases. Such applicants would be required to submit an undertaking for withdrawal of the case to avail benefit of the scheme.


Haryana Govt is recruiting 35,000 teachers: Geeta Bhukkal, Education Minister

Chandigarh, July 4– Mrs Geeta Bhukkal, Education, Health and Social Justice and Empowerment Minister, Haryana today said that the process of recruiting 35,000 teachers was going on to fill up the vacant posts of teachers in the State. In addition to it, 1,000 English teachers would also be appointed.

Mrs Bhukkal, who was addressing public grievances in the Open Darbar organised in the office of Block Development and Panchayat Officer, Matanhail block, said that the doctors were being recruited regularly in the State to provide better health care to the people of the State, especially in the rural areas.

She said that to provide basic facilities like water and electricity to the people was the duty of the State Government and concrete efforts had been taken by the Government in this direction. Water and electricity related grievances of the people were being redressed on priority basis with the cooperation of the officers concerned.

The problems related to electricity, water, lining of streets, pensions, making below poverty line cards, etc. were placed before the Minister and she listened with rapt attention to the grievances of the people and ordered the officers concerned to redress them at the earliest.


Haryana State Vigilance Bureau has caught red handed Ugra Sain Parmar

Chandigarh, July 4– The Haryana State Vigilance Bureau has caught red handed Ugra Sain Parmar, Section Officer, HUDA Engineering Wing, Division-4, Gurgaon while taking a bribe of Rs 10,000 from Mr Virender Singh resident of Kadipur, Gurgaon.
While stating this here today, a spokesman of the Bureau said that the Bureau had also caught red handed Karam Singh, Division Accounts Officer, PWD (B&R), Faridabad while taking a bribe of Rs 5,000 from Mr Satish Kumar resident of Chhainsa, Faridabad.
Cases had been registered against both the accused at Bureau’s Police Station, Gurgaon under section 7 of Prevention of Corruption Act, he added.


Gulzari Lal Nanda was a great nationalist, stoic and votary of truth and non violence: Governor Pahadia

Chandigarh, July 4– The Haryana Governor, Mr Jagannath Pahadia today said that Bharat Ratna former Prime Minister of India, Mr Gulzari Lal Nanda was a great nationalist, stoic and votary of truth and non violence. Like Mahatma Gandhi, he established democratic values by making politics a means of serving the society.
Mr Pahadia, who was speaking in a seminar organised to mark the birth anniversary of Mr Gulzari Lal Nanda, said that Mr Nanda led a simple life and he took part overwhelmingly in various agitations related to our freedom struggle. Following the footsteps of the Father of the Nation, Mahatma Gandhi worked for the uplift of poor people. Taking inspiration from this great personality, we should contribute our might in the nation building, he added.
He said that simplicity and dedication to work were the hallmarks of his life. Wherever he worked, he left indelible marks of his personality. Being God fearing and religious minded he has special attraction for Dharmakshetra-Kurukshetra. When he took a holy dip in ‘Sannihit Sarovar’ in 1967, he determined to renovate both ‘Sannihit’ and Brahmasarovars. Kurukshetra Development Board was constituted on August 1, 1967 under his Chairmanship. As a Chairman of the Board, he metamorphosed Brahmasarovar, Sannihit Sarovar, Jyotisar and many other religious places at Pehowa.
The Governor gave away prizes to the winners of declamation, quiz, essay writing and painting competitions. He also released brochure on the life of Mr Gulzari Lal Nanda on this occasion.
Earlier, he paid rich tributes to Mr Nanda at his memorial. He also planted a sapling in the Nandaji Memorial Campus.

19th Mango Mela was jointly organized by Haryana Tourism, Haryana Horticulture Department

Chandigarh, July 4– The Haryana Governor, Mr Jagannath Pahadia today appreciated the efforts of the Tourism Department, Haryana for making sustained efforts to improve the standard of Tourism in the State. He also appreciated the efforts of the Department for making Ancient Mughal Gardens at Pinjore as one of the major tourist destination. He complemented Tourism and Horticulture Department Haryana for better organization of the Mango Mela this year.
The Governor, who was speaking as a Chief Guest in the concluding-cum-prize distribution function of the 19th Mela held at Yadavindra Garden, Pinjore today, said that the State had been benefited in many folds by these efforts of the Department and it had already popularized Haryana not only in the other parts of India but even in abroad. He especially appreciated the Rural Tourism and involvement self help groups in various activities for promotion of Tourism in the State. He stressed that the potential of Tourism, especially in Kurukshetra, Pinjore and Panipat better be explored by the continuous development work in Tourism Industry in the State.
He urged the farmers to produce mangoes in a commercial way so that India gets pride place in Mango production and exports in the World.
The Chief Guest was escorted to the Mela venue where around 3060 entries of 401 varieties of Mangoes, out of which 2355 of Mangoes & 326 of Mango Products mouth-watering Mango varieties were displayed by the farming community from various states like Haryana (2516), Punjab (211), Himachal Pradesh (102) & Uttar Pradesh (231) besides 368 entries of Government institutes / universities. The Mango and Mango products were showcased at its best in a part of Gardens specially crafted to suit to the display of these products.
The 19th Mango Mela was jointly organized by Haryana Tourism, Department of Culture, Haryana and Horticulture Department Haryana at these historical Yadavindra Gardens, at Pinjore. There was a lot of enthusiasm amongst the participants and the Mango Lovers who had thronged these beautiful gardens from even the remotest places of North India.
Mr Roshan Lal, Financial Commissioner & Principal Secretary Agriculture, Dr.Maha Singh, Financial Commissioner & Principal Secretary Tourism, Sh.S.N.Roy, Managing Director, Haryana Tourism Corporation, , Sh.Ashok Yadav, Director Horticulture, Haryana, Ms.Ashima Garg, Deputy Commissioner, Panchkula, Dr. S.S Phulia, Addl. Managing Director, Haryana Tourism, Sh. Manish Choudhary, SP, Panchkula and other Senior Officers of the District Administration were also present on this occasion.
The seven step gardens wore a festive look with excellent illumination and the glitter was so fascinating. The various kind of activities such as Rangoli Competition, Face Painting Competition, Tambola various street dance and cultural events like Haryanvi Dance, Bhangra, Kacchi Ghori of Jaipur, Puppet Show of Rajasthan, Banchari Dhol Nagara of Hodel, Bagpiper from Karnal, Been Sapera Panipat, Long Man Bamboo Walker & Bioscope wala from Delhi were entertaining the capacity crowd at the venue. These events were organized to give comfort zone to all age groups and section of society. The closing ceremony also witnessed 'Bamb Lehari', 'Haryana ki Mitti' & 'Sufi Kalaam' by Meharban Ali enthralling the packed audience.
Various competitions like 'Painting Competition', 'Fancy Dress Competition', 'Mango Cutout Competition', 'Demo of Mango Products' & 'Mehndi Competition' were organized for the children during the day, the results of which were announced simultaneously by a committee of experts namely Mr N.K.Sathi, Artist, Ms. Renu Hooda, Arts Officer of DPR Haryana & Dr. Gagandeep Kaur, Asst. Professor (Fine Arts), Govt. College, Ambala Cantonment.

Indian Criketer MS Dhoni to tie in a wedding knot with Sakshi Rawat/ Sakshi SIngh Rawat tonight. Sakshi Rawat and MS Dhoni who are in relationship and have been dating from couple of years engaged yesterday in a private family ceremony in a farmhouse near Dehradun.

Indian cricket fans are surprised by the sudden hits by the Indian skipper Dhoni. Engagement of Dhoni with Sakhi Rawat was a sudden move and then the sources told that the marriage of Dhoni is expected in October or November 2010.  Now media came to know that the MS Dhoni and Sakshi Rawat will tie wedding knot tonight.

People from Indian Cricket and Bollywood are reaching to the Wedding venue near Dehradun to attend the marriage ceremony of Mahendra Singh Dhoni. Reception party will be organized in the Mumbai on 7th July, which is also the birthday of the Mahendra Singh Dhoni.

BCCI President, Shashank Manohar, Ashish Nehra, Harbhajan Singh, Suresh Raina are expected to attend the party at Dehradun while Sachin Tendulkar, Virender Sehwag to miss the marriage ceremony of Dhoni.
